  1. So over a year of work ends in disappointment and embarrasment. Just like the campaign!
  2. That's definitely going to be an Aquatrax that dives into Lake Erie.
  3. Yeah, rides like tea cups really mess me up. Not sure why. I can handle spinning coasters usually, but I don't often like them for that reason. I think this is gentle enough to be a spinning ride I could probably get into.
  4. Wow. Yeah, that's totally just like Pirates of Wildwood! Also, I think I've made this before: This actually was one of the results. I think the Google algorithm is trying to throw us off so we don't find out its plans for the robot uprising.
  5. ^ Yeah, spinning through an inversion should be quite the experience. I was worried it might be too intense, but seeing the layout and now seeing how it goes, I'm not worried about it. This is something I could handle. And as far as I am concerned there is nothing wrong with that! Powder Keg is still an awesome coaster! Awesome shots! I almost went up there today. Now I regret not doing so. haha Oh yeah, those are both great. Just different levels of intensity. Today was a great day. Drizzly and cold enough to keep people away, but not enough rain or cold to close anything outside of Expo.
  6. Very smooth, and the cars were not spinning very fast. The launches were smooth and didn't seem to accelerate too quickly. Of course it will probably feel more intense on the ride than it looked from the back porch of the culinary school. Still, if you're on the fence about this, worried that the spinning would be too much, I think it's going to be just fine. I wouldn't expect ultimate intensity from Time Traveler. Probably will be closer to Powder Keg than Outlaw Run.
  7. Looks like the Muppets Local 502 is on board with them.
  8. check your local Alamo for special screenings!. . absolutely ask them. not sure how old your kiddo is, but the Alamo here, offer special "kids" screenings, as well as "autism" screenings (the lights are not quite as low in the theater, and the sound isn't quite as intense), so you could enjoy a screening as a family, surrounded by others who have a similar situation with an autistic child. Awesome! We used to have an independent theatre that did that, but it closed suddenly last summer when the building was bought by a church. We got to watch Sing and Moana and several other films just because of the autism friendly showing. Would be very glad to have that kind of thing back.
  9. Seriously, though, while Cedar Point has some of the very best coasters anywhere, for food quality, atmosphere, and non-coaster rides, Kings Island and Knott's are both better. Knott's best coaster is boysenberry pie, and they have one of the best non-Disney dark rides and one of the best log flumes anywhere. If you're there for coasters and nothing else, well, Cedar Point's your place. But for me, there's only place where I can get a boysenberry beer then ride a f*cking stagecoach.
  10. You misspelled "sheet of acid". You got me. I don't actually know anything about drugs. But hey, I just learned that acid comes in sheets!
  11. Wow, crappy religious bands pull in that kind of money? Cartman's right. I need to get into that game.
  12. Ok, cool. Austin-based chain then. Yeah, ours is designed just like that. Mini table for two seats, which we picked out when purchasing tickets. Such a relaxing experience. No worries about getting a good seat, just show up and have a good time. We got there early, and I enjoyed the preshow. They had weird Christmas specials. Nothing classic like Rudolph, no, these were all weird as shit saved from the dustbin of history types. It was surreal and fun. This just opened, and already it's my new favourite movie place. Not like we get a lot of opportunities for movies. We gave up a long time ago on trying to get a sitter. People just don't want to watch a kid with autism. It sucks, but whatever. So we went in the morning while our free public education system that can't say no to us watched the kids. Wow, that got dark. Back to fun stuff. When we do have an opportunity for a movie in the theatre (probably Black Panther), it'll be at Alamo Drafthouse. I'll have to check out the cauliflower when we do.
  13. Oh yeah, man, I see what you mean. That's a really long walk.
  14. Great! Did they confirm the giant pile of coke? If they're going to do it right, that pile of coke has got to be massive.
  15. It's definitely in the top 3 Cedar Fair parks I've never visited. Yes, there are exactly 3 Cedar Fair parks I've never visited.
  16. My whole family just stopped everything they were doing for these pictures.
  17. I would be very okay with both those additions, if that is indeed what they're doing. But if they're going to update Pirates of Wildwood, I hope they have a giant pile of coke.
  18. This looks really great. I like the laser tag type vests; seems like they really help with the immersion level.
  19. This is absolutely true. Case in point: The Marvel deal at IMG was done before Disney bought Marvel. And yes, Disney DID review everything and want some sign offs on quality of what went into that park after the fact, but deal was done, contracts signed, and Disney respected that. Now, that being said, I have worked on many video game projects that were licensed IPs where there was so much corporate political nonsense that the contracts didn't even get signed until the game was almost finished, so in the case that maybe the ink is NOT on the paper, that would be a huge issue, but I'm going to make the assumption that isn't the case here. Ok cool, so we're thinking the likeliest outcome is that Disney goes to Genting and says, "Hey, make all this stuff look good," and otherwise they just sit back and as long as the royalty payments clear, they just leave it be?
  20. Yeah, I'm with you there. I really like Kings Island's GIB, but Dorney's was awful. Possessed next door is so much better, this isn't a loss.
  21. We saw The Last Jedi this morning (9:30 AM show while kids were at school) and it is SO GOOD. I loved every minute of it. Whereas Force Awakens felt very much like a remake of A New Hope, The Last Jedi had lots of suprises. It might just be the best one yet. On another note, this was our first opportunity to go to the new Alamo Drafthouse that just opened in Springfield. It's a San Antonio-based chain of movie theatres that have as their hook that they serve a full meal while in the theatre. It was a great experience, and I recommend it to all Texans or those who live close enough to Texas to have one of these around. My wife had a BLT and I had a buffalo bleu cheese poutine, and both were awesome. Plus they have a full bar, which we didn't participate in since the movie was in the morning, but really cool. We did have the Mudhouse Coffee, which is a local independent coffeehouse. I love that Alamo tries to partner with local suppliers whenever possible. Great experience!
  22. The bolts are there to make it nice and rough so that people think it's a wooden coaster. People love that good old fashioned jostling. Speaking of which, anyone know when they're going to be installing the pothole? Really looking forward to that.
