  1. Wow, that's awesome. All these RMC trains look pretty great, and they seem to just get better. This year's two look the best of the bunch, aesthetically.
  2. ^ Wow, that sucks. I recently rented a car in Philly with a New York plate, no troubles in NJ or PA. Sorry that Indiana cops would target a Texas plate.
  3. Ugh, right now. When was the last time you went spelunking?
  4. Fun! I'm really hoping Book of Mormon comes anywhere close to me at some point. Given Missouri's history with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, not likely, but hopefully it comes here at some point. I've heard such good things, I know I will like it.
  5. If this thing gets anywhere near Skyrush and Maverick, I'll be happy. I don't expect it to rise to those levels, but if it happens to....
  6. I know #2 is true, that they cannot get a discount on season passes. #1 not sure of, I would check with the guest services people on that one.
  7. Oh man, you guys are going to love this so much. Those Infinity Coasters are legit.
  8. You won't have to. If it's too much for me I'll end up calling myself a p*ssy! Worst case scenario Emily or I won't like it, but there seems to be plenty of other great offerings. I really enjoy hypers, so I've got my fingers crossed. The restraints are weird, and that's the only thing. If you can put up with a bit of pain, you'll love it. If you can't, you're a p*ssy, and you'll ride like 10 other rides that are awesome. I loved Skyrush, absolutely one of the best rides I've ever had anywhere. YMMV. If you don't like it, then Storm Runner, Fahrenheit, Comet, and Lightning Racer await. You'll have a good time regardless.
  9. 68 this morning, then 42 this afternoon. I work at the airport, and the wind is harsh there. Felt like 20.
  10. Truth. Theme parks are basically the only area where the Ozarks outperforms the cities.
  11. Stop it. You guys are going to get me to take a Charlotte-Atlanta trip if you're not careful. God, don't do it. You might get hooked. I'd never went into a coaster with such low expectations and expecting typical over-hype, but when we hit the break run I knew it was instantly my favorite roller coaster. It was a mixture of euphoria and disbelief. To me, it's halfway between I305 and MF, with more freedom of movement. Excuse me, while I purchase plane tickets... Lol, I have heard really good things. I do enjoy the B&M hypers, and if Fury is anything like Diamondback and Nitro, I'll be happy. STL-ATL and STL-CLT are just so damn cheap, I'm probably going to have to do it one of these days.
  12. Last fall. We do have our root veggies planted already, and we have tomatoes indoors in starter pods. When was the last time you voted?
  13. ^ Agreed completely. Great Nor'Easter is great, Timberhawk is pretty good, T3 is the spawn of Satan. All the rest are about as bad as each other.
  14. I did ride in the front and I knew about the policy. I didn't expect them to be watching like vultures though and patting everyone down. So you knew they don't allow any loose articles in the line and intentionally brought loose articles in the line, then are upset because they effectively enforced their rule? Maybe it is better, I've never bought one at any park. And I know it's not hard, but I'm not someone that will bend over and grab my ankles if I think something is ridiculous. Whatever, man. I'm one to comply with park rules even if I think they're ridiculous. It's their park, they get to do what they want. I went there, bought the floating fluffy bunny, then when I wrote up my trip report, reamed them for a dumb policy. I still followed it while I was there. Seems rather arrogant to expect you can just choose not to follow their rules on their rides at their park, and they won't do anything about it. Don't like the rules? Go somewhere else. No one's forcing you to go to Great Adventure.
  15. We had a great time staying in a rental RV at Lake Rudolph. Club TPR members get 10% off, and they have a shuttle right to the front gate, or drive 2 minutes to the free parking lot.
  16. Nice! Lots of fun stuff to look forward to. Is it weird that I'm most excited about the yellow snow cones?
  17. Boss and Excalibur are not open yet. Let's see, when I was a teenage youngster I liked Mr. Freeze Forward Blast, or as we called it back then, Mr. Freeze. So go to that one. Seriously, though, the park isn't open to the public tomorrow, so there is no "before the crowds come." Everyone there will have come by bus. I'd say if you want to do Namtab, go to that one as the line can be a little slow. Don't expect to ride much, and whatever you do get to ride, just enjoy it for that.
  18. I love that ride so much, and that back left seat is something else. I felt it the next day, but so worth it. Truth.
  19. Yup, and El Toro is much, much smoother than Kentucky Rumbler which is the same age as Toro and runs far less. I don't understand roughness complaints on El Toro. Just makes no sense.
  20. Holy crap, you went halfway across the country to Great Adventure and you didn't bother to find out about their locker policy or which seats to sit in? Please tell me you at least rode Ka in the front. Great Adventure's locker policy is way better than Cedar Point's, where they charge per ride or if you want all day ones, they're way in the front of the park. Great Adventure gives you floating lockers for $6, so you can always have your stuff nearby while you ride. There's no reason why you shouldn't be able to bring a wallet in a zipped pocket, but that's how they roll, so just budget your $6 and stow your stuff. Not hard. As for Lightning Rod, it's Topper Track, and El Toro is straight up wood. Not going to be the same, and you shoudn't expect it to. Research and proper expectations are essential to good travelling, especially if you're going hundreds of miles from home to a place you're only going once or at most once every few years.
