  2. Can vouch for this. I've been on three of the four (still hopefully hitting Kennywood this year), and they've been fun. Maybe not the most exciting ride ever, but still decent. I kinda made fun of Steel Force when I rode it last year but it's all right. I blame the Knoebels high. Mamba is the best of the three though. It has this low to the ground helix at the point furthest from the station that really makes all the difference. The other two don't dive so low from that third hill.
  3. It's better than the Darien Lake thread at least. Some people in the CP thread love and respect the park for what it is and offer really good advice....and then there are the coasterboys....
  4. Yeah really. Looks great, and it seems it will finish strong too. Very excited for this, and looking forward to the review from today.
  5. Excellent results! The top 25 lists look like I would expect them to; the ones I've been on definitely deserve to be there, amd the ones I haven't I hear others rave about. RMC and Intamin both highly represented...checks out.
  6. Oh man, there is so much Jersey here. Some things that are awesome, some things that are terrible, and some things that are somehow both at the same time. That guy who just refused to accept that the flash pass doesn't give you dounle rides anymore... And yeah, Toro's great in the front. I mostly rode in the penultimate seat, but I did get front row once and it's good. Different but really good.
  7. ^ That is logical though. Opening a new ride in a park that isn't ready for it can be disastrous, as you bring back people who haven't been to the park recently only to remind them why they haven't gone. You've got to get the simple stuff down first.
  8. Glad you had a good time! You'll hear more buzz this summer. A lot of enthusiasts wait until daily operations for their trips, and that starts in just a couple of weeks now. About that time, too, area schools start to let out for summer and the Branson tourist season begins. Once more people have a chance to ride it, you'll start seeing trip reports. I know several members here are planning to come out this way this summer.
  9. Glad you got to ride the monorail and Coal Cracker. Those are fond memories from my trip. Great rides, and I think they get overlooked for the really great coasters. I also agree that Comet is fantastic; I was not expecting to love that one as much as I do.
  10. I don't know, man, if they slide a really big sheet of paper under the peninsula, they could probably move the park to Michigan without spilling anything.
  11. 9/10 Great ride, accessible yet thrilling at the same time. Saturdays
  12. Oh nice! I don't remember Moe's in Hersheypark; is that new this year?
  13. Titan is closer to me, so that one. X-Men or Avengers?
  14. So enthusiasts will throw a tantrum. It's called theming.
  15. Check out the new commercial. Pretty slick. [youtu_be]https://youtu.be/EWZ_cWSA5sU[/youtu_be]
  16. ^ Sweeeet. Now everything really is legal in New Jersey. Six Flags beer jail was the one holdout. If it's your only day, arrive at opening, get a Gold Flash Pass, have fun. The rides that require you to empty your pockets require you to leave your stuff in a l ocker or with a non-rider, so that's secure. They're floating l ockers; you'll get a code that allows you to access one near the ride you're going on. They were $6 all day last year; if they've raised the price this year, probably not by much. They're big enough you should be able to get all your stuff in one. Do Kingda Ka and Nitro in the front, Skull Mountain and Nitro in the back, and El Toro one row up from the back (middle row of last car). If you go straight to Toro, there will be little to no wait for the first little bit.
  17. Ah, traveler, thou hast, perhaps unbeknownst, asked the most important question of thy life. For the Beast is a magical coaster and respondeth well to thy incantation. First, wait for sundown. Go not to the Beast when the sun be in the midst of setting, nay! Gird thy patience and when 'tis full dark, set thy sight upon the front row. Mount the Beast in this row alone, and thou wilt engage the spell. Know I well thou wilt hardly understand my words at this time. Take heed and trust in them, and in due time, should thou follow them as written, then shalt thou understand their true meaning.
  18. Eh, Mr. Freeze is cooler anyway. Honourable mentions to Polar X-Plorer at Legoland and the late Dueling Dragon Ice.
  19. July is peak travel season. In your position, I would be budgeting for Fastlane.
  20. ^^ Wow, that looks really great! Hadn't seen a closeup of it yet. Sadly some people aren't as easily impressed:
  21. I had the chance to ride Stinger quite a bit when I lived 10 minutes from the park, honestly it was only truly horrible if sat in the very front, or the very back. Stinger was the only ride I can think of that provided the best it had to offer in the middle. I maintain sitting in car 4 (the exact center of the train) was a smooth, enjoyable, and extremely forceful experience. Huh, weird. Yeah, I sat in the front because it was a walkon because Dorney.
  22. It's not exactly close, but not too far away. 270 & 364. 45 Progress Pkwy, Maryland Heights, MO 63043, USA
