Went to Six Flags today and got to try Namtab and the new Boss, and I was impressed with both of them. First of all, Namtab! Yllanif! After striking out before, this visit I went straight to it at opening and got on. Good move too, as while we were going up the lift I could see the line stretching into the park section. Haven't seen it that long in a while. Namtab is very, very intense in the back. Batman is intense in the last row too, but the Namtab version....wow. I was a bit queasy coming off it. As for the new Boss, it's the best it's run in years. It was so smooth, about like it was right after the RMC retrack in '13. The new overbanked turn is so much better than the old helix, and you actually get a bit of air on the double up at the end now. Great job making this ride not just tolerable, but actually fun!

I'd feel better about this park if Six Flags took it over. I've never experienced any major safety issues at Hurricane Harbor in St. Louis, almost 20 years on now. The Kansas suburbs have a lot of people, and not having to drive across town could be a big selling point. It's at least 45 minutes from the western suburbs to North Kansas City.

The flume at Nick U is legit. Wait until you get out to LA, though. Knott's flume is the best of them all.

Allow me to convince you. Exhibit A: And Exhibit B: Do not go to Cedar Point and wait 2 hours for anything. Do not go to Cedar Point and not ride Maverick. You're going in August, so you already know there's gonna be mega lines. Budget for the Fast Lane+.

Spending my last two three-day weekends before the new job starts by camping: this weekend near Six Flags St. Louis and next weekend at the Silver Dollar City campground. Never stayed at either, but we're excited.

That's fair. Even the Dollywood thread gets its obnoxious fanboys.

Happy weekend! Thought this one would be of special interest to TPR. It's the City Museum Pilsner from 4 Hands Brewing Co. in St. Louis. A little on the sour side for a pilsner, but I like it, and the can is AWESOME.

Oh I guess I had read that all wrong, was thinking you were getting a raise. Oh well, I guess if you were expecting less and you got more than you were expecting, that's a raise of sorts.

Awesome! A couple hundred a month can make a big difference. That's like $1.25/hour if you were working fulltime, so that's substantial. Enjoy!

Do all the other RMC's have an issue with it? Not that I've ever noticed. I don't think it's truly an issue, but it does take some force to lift them, so some people who don't have a lot of upper body strength have a bit of trouble sometimes. In the hundreds of times I've ridden Outlaw Run over the last few years, it's delayed me getting in the train a dozen maybe? The ops just come over and help and it's solved.

"They can hear this lift hill in Canada." That is an impressive amount of hairtime indeed. Great video.

Ejector? No. Strong floater sure. And as one who formerly had Mamba as a top 10 coaster, it disappears from the top ten once you've been on around 50 or so. It's firmly in the middle of any sane person's list.
