  1. And now that song is stuck in my head. T.I. is so good.
  2. People who diss Matt Bellamy are dead to me. No, you're cool. Just didn't see it until Robb linked to it on the front page. That's a good way to think about it. You and I both became enthusiasts about the same time and in similar circumstances, and that's kind of what I've done too. I started by going to the large Midwestern parks, and after I had done all those, asked "What are the best parks I've never been to?" West Coast Bash was a good way to get to Disneyland, Universal, and Knott's all at once, and then there was Knoebels and Dollywood. Now the highest priority is Sea World. Your list is solid, those are some good parks. For you, Knoebels and Dollywood are pretty easy to get to bacause you know Bill and he has a car. Get to those ASAP. As much as you like Morey's and Busch Gardens, you'll enjoy Knoebels and Dollywood.
  3. On that footprint, gotta be a Polercoaster. You get out of here with that entirely reasonable decision.
  4. That is true in low season, but peak it certainly is not. Lines can get over an hour, and in those circumstances 36 hours is not enough time, nor would anyone want to spend their day in one hour-long line after another. Fastlane is worth it for that. Keep in mind too they got park hopper passes, so they plan on the waterpark at least one of those 3 days.
  5. If you don't have a fingerprint in the system, they can add it right there at the front gate. Shouldn't hold up anything any more than processing a new pass would.
  6. Galaxy S7. It's the best phone I've ever had. Takes some really good photos too.
  7. Super late to this party, but just finished reading this whole fantastic report. Twisted Timbers looks great, and I love the steel wrapped around the tree. Very cool. Busch Gardens looks fantastic in every report I see about it, and I'm just going to have to get out there at some point. Really gives me a Grant's-Farm-with-rides vibe that is very right. Williamsburg seems to have the same sort of "nightlife" that Springfield does; we have 7 breweries now, but hardly anything is open late at all. The entire town (about a quarter million) just shuts down about 10 PM.
  8. If you're going to be there for 3 days, I wouldn't pre-purchase the fastlane. See how crowds are; if it's super busy, get it, but if not, your Early Entry may give you enough rides on the really busy coasters. The super popular ones tend to be the ones on Early Entry, while others like Iron Dragon and Gemini don't usually have lines that are too bad. You can totally ride the Early Entry ones a lot early, then ride the less popular ones throughout the day. However, if it's really busy on the days you go, even the less popular rides might have an hour line--they're still the shortest lines, just all the lines are absurd. In those cases, get the Fastlane and enjoy your day. To put it in SoCal terms, it's Magic Mountain, with the friendliness of Knott's, the operations of Disneyland, and food quality of Magic Mountain. They do have the Luminosity show that's pretty cool at park closing. Nothing close to what Disney does, but it's nice. Also, if you're in line when the park closes, you will get to ride. So get in line for something awesome like Millennium Force about 5 minutes before closing and have a high note to end your day.
  9. Challenger. Too soon?
  10. You don't get it. We need to school these noobs until they can recite the 16 differences between a step up drop down twisty roll and a graviton particle loopty loop. Having driven through both Iowa and Ohio, there's not a whole lot of difference. Maybe fewer pigs in Ohio? Also around these parts Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is way better known than Cedar Point, Ohio.
  11. I'm calling BS. Not even meteorologists know the weather 3 weeks out. Whatever the reason is for calling this off, it absolutely isn't weather.
  12. Yes! That looks incredible. I love the shots of the two of them near the end where it's inside the structure. Hard to tell which way is up.
  13. This. And may I add, NopeNopeNopeNopeNopeNopeNopeNopeNopeNopeNopeNopeNopeNopeNope, and also Nope. I'm normally adventurous. I've had escargot, and octopus, and eel, and liked them all. But I draw the line at spiders.
  14. But they are investing in the park, just with things like a petting zoo. They have to be smart with their investments. MiA has major staffing problems, and the last thing you want in that situation is more rides. If anything, they need to remove a few rides that require more than one person to operate. Another big coaster like the enthusiasts want, which would require 5 or so people at all times to run, is ludicrous.
  15. Interesting. Not seeing a downside to this arrangement. Not having been there, the impression I've garnered from reviews of the place is that they have a pretty decent park that struggles to bring people in and thus can't be as ambitious as they would like to be. Having some Six Flags money (that still sounds weird to say, but Six Flags is actually profitable these days) could really help Hopi Hari do what they would like to do with the park.
  16. Atomic Collider is a pretty big ride. Found a site that shows its specs as 23 x 25 x 16 m: http://www.ride-index.de/include.php?path=content/content.php&contentid=278 If that's accurate, then a Mad House would actually fit.
  17. That's a great post from Tony, very real and conversational. Very excited to check it out for myself in a few weeks.
  18. It's been a long time since I bought a one-day ticket to Six Flags, since the season pass is like $10 more. I believe Dierbergs has discount tickets though.
  19. Those are actually from Aldi, as is the Austrian beer mustard. They're based in Germany, so they have the best German food of any grocery chain. $5 for six frozen pretzels, bake in 5 minutes.
  20. Urban Chestnut's Zwickel in its natural habitat.
  21. I understand. Hershey's shakes looked very appealing, but then also beer.
  22. ^ I certainly hope so. Wonder Woman looks really fun.
  23. Matterhorn's really great, and they have single rider lines for it, so it really doesn't matter how the lines are. In my experience, since they have 3 to a car, you get on pretty quickly in the single rider line. ^ And agreed, left side is where it's at!
  24. It's banked beyond what is reasonable and prudent.
