Really enjoyed NBC's Jesus Christ Superstar tonight. John Legend was phenomenal, as expected. The choreography was very cool in how it looked less polished and more organic, closer to a flash mob than Broadway. It was not sloppy, it was intentionally raw. The lack of orchestra pit was an interesting choice, and I think it worked. It gave the opportunity to have the instruments front and centre sometimes, and for the actors to interact with them. And Alice Cooper being Alice Cooper and absolutely loving it. Overall, great performance, and well worth sitting through several 5 minute blocks of adverts.

They're refurbishing several rides, but I wouldn't call it polished yet as those rides haven't yet opened for the season. The biggest change is that Colossus has gone to a slow continuous operation, so you get one time around now but it's really long. They say it should help capacity; I don't know, line seemed just as long as always to me. It does make for a different experience though.

Sounds like a great day to me! Fireball, the loop coaster in St. Louis, also had its train in the transfer shed last weekend. I can only assume that the Loop Coaster Union is striking until a member of Six Flags Management gives them a raise for the undue hardship of enthusiasts not recognizing their coasterness. I'm impressed at their dedication to Kingda Ka and the log flume. Six Flags is doing way better at stuff like this than they used to. In years past they would have said "f*ck it, Ka's closed." Now they're actually trying, all across the chain, to keep their rides in good condition. I said the opposite 10 years ago, but they've turned it around. It's like Six Flags gives a f*ck. One f*ck, they're not going overboard or anything.
