  1. Perfect! Looking good too, really fits the place.
  2. I think it's safe to say that most of the students in the area go back the week of August 12. Mason goes back on the 14th, Lakota on the 15th, Kings on the 15th, and Sycamore on the 15th. And the Catholic schools probably start earlier. Perfect, thanks so much!
  3. This year our school district in Missouri is August 17, 2017, to May 23, 2018. It's always around then. Our schools are all air conditioned, and August is super hot while late May is much more pleasant to be outside. By the time we went back to school in August, I was always grateful to have an excuse to be inside all day. Anyway, that's Missouri, and I'm about 400 miles west of Cincinnati, so I'm wondering for planning purposes how their schools are over there.
  4. Anyone know when schools start back in August? I'm assuming it's early since KI goes down to Fri-Sun operation the last couple weeks of August. Looking to reschedule my trip and I want to be there 2 days, either 17-18 or 24-25. Will be budgeting for Fast Lane on Saturday, but hoping for a Friday with lower attendance.
  5. Well, just a few hundred more and they'll have enough for an entry level camcorder and a Macbook. Can't wait to see that iMovie documentary with an all-volunteer cast and crew!
  6. ^^ Awesome! Glad you liked Steel Vengeance, and got some short lines on the other rides too. Seems like SV is sucking up all the guests pretty effectively.
  7. Oh nice! A beer garden is a much better use of Sea Serpent's lifts.
  8. ^ Nice! I did that for a while, but ran out of time as the kids got older. It was fun though. Tonight I'm enjoying a White Lager from Schlafly in St. Louis.
  9. It's the entire ProSlide catalogue in one slide!
  10. ^ Yeah really. Hit 90 today in SGF.
  11. Looks good to me! Their best coaster, Pipe Scream, is open, so what else do you need?
  12. Yeah, Disney's great about giving you accurate information on the website. My advice was for a person going in June but didn't say what day, so I included it just in case he would be there late enough in June to see it.
  13. This sort of arrogance really peeves us Midwesterners. We exist, we live in a place that's more than flyover country, and you depend on us as much as we depend on you. Did you eat today? You're welcome. We're all in this together.
  14. Always worth the wait! It was 84° here today, so this was just what I needed. I hear good things about Six Flags New England. I'm especially impressed by their ability to make an SLC actually good. Less impressed by their ability to decorate a Christmas tree.
  15. Very nice! Wonder Woman looks great, and that Poltergeist line is beautiful.
  16. Based on the traffic here in LA, I beg to differ..... You might find that causeway on Ohio State Day familiar.
  17. Oh wow, actual photos of Darien Lake in the Darien Lake thread. Wasn't expecting that. The rainbow mat slide looks really cool.
  18. I experienced the holding brake on Valleyfair's impulse, and thought much more of it than of Dorney's (which wasn't running it when I rode it) because of it. Same here. Those Intamin inverted impulse coasters are all great, but Steel Venom is the best of the bunch.
  19. You must not have been around executives much, man. Their daddies didn't pay for their Yale education--ahem, for a smart poor kid to do their Yale homework for them--so they can "labor." It’s their park, they should be able to do what they want. Don’t like it, don’t go. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk No I got it. I think you missed mine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Front row of any car for the best ride. Very front row is great, as it's very open. Front row of the last car has the best hangtime in the final barrel roll. For Thunderation, pick a middle row. The front car only has two rows, and the front row is in the middle of that car, so that's a good row too. All the other coaaters are smooth, and are more intense in the back row. You'll be assigned a row on Time Traveler.
  21. Glad you got to visit Reading Terminal Market, Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. Those are highlights from my trip last year. Philadelphia is a city at once very modern and also protective of its history. I've had a bunch of "Philly cheesesteaks" over the years, but there's nothing like an authentic steak in the city.
