Photo TR: Homer's Midwest Trip Review Extravaganza
Homer posted a topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
INDEX (bold = latest update) Day 0/Intro: Airport/Coney Island- You got some Coney bucks? (this post) Day 1: Holiday World- New for 2008, Wagon: The Ride! Day 2: Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom- Italian Buffet = KFC with Cilantro Day 2.5: Beech Bend- Future Jeff Foxworthy Routine Day 3: Indiana Beach- Yes there's more than Corn... Day 4: Little A-merrick-a- No Comment. BONUS: Homer versus the Toboggan! INTRO Hi, my name is Carl, but you can also call me Homer. I have just gotten back from an AMAZING trip around the Midwest that was really fun and tiresome at the same time. Before the TPR forums, I always enjoyed reading and watching the TPR videos and updates and like any coaster fan, at least meet up and hang out with Robb and Elissa. I barely go out to parks due to the lack of transport and sometimes cash. However, after months of slaving sandwich orders behind a counter, it was all worth it just for the amazing time I had at the parks with the TPR crew. I have met some awesome and nice people on this trip and it makes me want to save up more money for a future trip. So, on to the TR of Day 0! DAY 0: Aiport/Coney Island- You got any Coney bucks? My day started out with a 4 AM wake up and a mad dash to the airport for a 6 AM flight out to Cincy to meet up with the TPR crew. I arrived at 10 AM and for about 2 hours, I got acquainted with a majority of the "celebrities" of the TPR forums and a special appearance by Kanye. At noon, the buses arrived for our trip to our government-protected top secret special bonus park, Coney Island. Driving in, this park had a kind of hometown feel to it. But now on to ride reviews. CREDIT #39- Pepsi Python Pepsi Python was the first Pinfari doom machine of the drip. A simple little Zyklon ride that was "eh..." in some seats and "OW!" in others. Worth it if you're trying to pimp out your credits and only for one ride. FINAL SCORE: 4/10 After that, I walked around the park and rode some of the classic rides at the park such as the Rock-O-Planes, the "SUPER" Round Up, and the Moser tower. By about 3, I really wanted to leave, but the second fleet of TPR members arrived at 3 and we didn't leave until 5. The rest of the day was nothing more but a nice conversation under the trees near Pepsi Python. At the end of the day, we arrived at the Holiday Inn in Louisville and so the trip kind of "began" in a way right there. The biggest disappointment was that we thought Coney still had old flats like the Whip and Turtle. However, they were names for picnic pavilions and not classic rides (D'oh!). It was a nice day but things would just get awesomer from there. And well end Day 0 with a gay picture. Day 1 coming tomorrow! Also on this trip, somehow Casey became a pimp somehow. Bet you miss that harem now, Casey. We also took over the Tilt-A-Whirl. Moser tower goodness. We looked at the map, where is the Whip and Cuddle Up? Weiner. Its not just a round up... its a SUPER round up. The Rock-O-Planes, a crazy, painful but classic ride. After the death machine, we hit the slides. How ya doin', Tex? Looks like fun, rite? Ah, there's the Pinfari Death Machine. Nope, just some slides with some ghetto wood supports. IS THAT A WOODIE? The Waterpark was a popular attraction for the summer's sweltering heat. No Now on to Coney Island. Will the buses fit!? ALL HAIL FLOWERS! A chapel? In an airport? What's it pointing to? Jahan you sexy bitch. Dane and Kanye sport Waffle House hats. Kanye also gives the bird. Robb poses with the bags of crap. -
TPR's Cedar Point visit 2007 > All other CP visits in the past, present, and future. Great TR Scott, still kinda laughing at Wes' Cheesecake orgasm.

Great TR, Ted! It was nice to meet up with you and Catrina again at Kennywood. I still laugh at the R. Kelly treatment. -
Is your WMP the latest version (version 11)? I could see streaming video on TPR since I got WMP 11. As for Vekoma Fan Boy, most people hate IE because its full of security holes and Firefox just has some added convenience.

Kentucky Kingdom (SFKK, KK) Discussion Thread
Homer replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^Six Flags, from time to time, takes rides off their rides list online if they are closed. Deja Vu at SFOG is often the target of rumors since most of the time its not on the site. http://www.screamscape.com/html/six_flags_kentucky_kingdom.htm Anyways, for some kind of odd news from Screamscape, it seems like there are no plans no to reopen the tower. It sounds plausible for now. However, Screamscape says that SFKK may remove the tower, which seem unlikely. Replacing a tower ride with a fountain? I would just turn the tower from a drop tower to an observation tower. Is that possible at all? -
Well, after months of clearing, clearing, and clearing. Some vertical construction is starting to take place in this area tentatively known as "Jungle Village/Jungala." Looks like it might be a new structure or something, but at least something is starting to spring up in Python's spot. http://www.screamscape.com/html/bgt_-_congo_0.htm

It was done just to annoy you.

^He was talking about the SF era, not the CF era. Oh good ol' SF employees. Geez, that slide tower is STILL there? Tis' a waste, they were installed back in 2003 and now they're covered in weeds. I seriously hope CF cleans up that section of the park, its just an eyesore in general now. Thanks for this GL update. I'm kinda glad were skipping it on the Midwest trip now. -

I smell a bomb. The moment I saw the movie poster, all I could say is "Kidz Bop: Special Chipmunks Edition." Hooray for another "X-TREME" example of a classic childhood icon.

The Simpsons Movie If anything should be ranked in best comedies of the decade, this movie would be one of them and its a treat for people who have only seen 5 or 10 episodes or the hardcore fan that buys all the boxsets. The audience of this film was quite awesome and literally everybody began to sing Spider Pig. Stoners down in front clapped at the near end when Otto was smoking out of a bong (not really a spoiler, we all know Otto is a pothead in the first place). While it may not be the "greatest 'episode' in the series' history," it was probably one of the funniest in the entire series. Also, this movie didn't attempt a "Family Guy" and try to be outrageous outside of broadcast TV (SPOILERS: Bart's wang, Homer doing the double deuce, Otto hitting the bong) it still remained a great movie. One of the best movies of the summer, but not THE BEST, and probably one of the best comedies of this decade. 9/10 Favorite scene (SPOILERS): The Bart Naked scene. Ralph's quote was just memorable... "I now like men!"

JimmyBo's Photo and Video Trip Report: TPR Spain Tour
Homer replied to JimmyBo's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Jimmy, that was an AWESOME video. I don't imagine myself on the Midwest trip to sing the ERT song though or risk Spanish first aid . But still an awesome video! -
I've been drinking a lot of milk lately. Yay for strong bones!

My friend Dell, sometimes he just can't seem to comprehend what I say. The other night I called him and told him that were meeting with some people down at Buffalo Wild Wings a few hours later. Dell thought "I should go to Buffalo Wild Wings now." When my other friends and I arrived at Buffalo Wild Wings, he was there, pissed, because he waited an hour when we kept telling him "we said 'A few hours later'." Then after Buffalo Wild Wings, we were supposed to go to a FEC that checks IDs after 9 PM (stupid rule, I know). Everybody but Dell brought their IDs and thanks to him, he basically ruined the night.

Bizzare thing on the scandinavian Disney Channel!
Homer replied to Xtremecoaster's topic in Random, Random, Random
ALERT THE INTERNET! A Nick show is airing on another network, its the end of the world! Seriously though, was this topic worthy? I mean, if a show that aired on Nick was moved to the Disney Channel, I doubt it should have much impact on your life other than "You really like the show Fairly OddParents and now you have to click to another channel just to see it." -
I think this topic has become my wettest dream ever.
