Least Favorite B&M?
3Mutts replied to thecoasterdude's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Does this count? https://rcdb.com/189.htm I known it was made by Intamin but B&M designed this POS when they used to work for Intamin. If not then Rougarou when it was Mantis, basically a less refined version of Green Lantern. -
Is going to Canada really a problem for most WNY’ers? I feel like most people with kids/adventurists who would even contemplate going to another park can and already do go to Canada quite often. I also wouldn’t call two-two and a half hours far away. I think it’s fair to say Canada’s Wonderland is Darien’s regional competitor, or at least where standards and targets should be set. It can be, I remember when we went to CW in 05 and it took us 5 hours to get there due to the border and Toronto's awful traffic.

Staffing, poor training, and poor maintenance are your answers. -
Child falls off Idlewild roller coaster

What on earth is that? Those side bars look like an elephants ear! -
What are the requirements for how large a rider can be on Ride of Steel? I know for Superman: RoS at SFA, they have a test seat to see if a larger person can fit. Also, because of the restraints used (t-bar?), the height limit of the rider is 76 inches (6-4) Over 270 pounds you can forget it. At that weight I barely fit on Superman the Ride which is more accommodating than ROS. However, it is more accommodating now than when it was with those idiotic shin guards.

Sadly I think that requires new trains because the reason Darien Lake went to one train operation was to harvest parts from the old second train (what do expect from the company that bankrupt SF when they owned it). Not that I would mind, ROS lapbars are awful (very cramped) and Mind Eraser and Viper can both benefit from Vekoma vest restraints

Yes it is and it will definitely not be rebuilt, it was damaged while they were taking it apart in AstroWorld if anything SF will scrap that hunk of junk. Also IMO good news SF is back in control again, I can definitely see them bringing two trains back for most rides and the retheme of many such as ROS being rethemed back to Superman and the potential that Mind Eraser will get new trains and become the Riddler like they did with the one at SFNE. No, it is not. They removed it last year. That land is now just a fenced off property across the street with nothing in it. I do agree that they will likely try to rebrand whatever they can at some point, RoS would be an easy fix but otherwise who knows what they’re thinking. Then again, the deal isn’t final until sometime in June so for now we don’t know really anything about what’s truly going on Ah didnt know that, glad to see its finally gone. I rode the one at La Ronde and it was one of the worst coasters I have ever ridden.

Six Flags [FUN] Corporate Discussion Thread
3Mutts replied to davidmorton's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
As someone in NY this is good news for me, I now have 4 Six Flags parks within driving distance. Also I think Darien Lake will benefit greatly being apart of SF again, ever since it was sold off it has kind of had a run down feel to it. -
Mega coaster trip 2018 Photo Trip Report.
3Mutts replied to thrillrider's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Just so you know I would swap Seabreeze and Darien Lake, this is because Seabreeze is in Rochester which is a two hour drive from Buffalo with no traffic where as Darien Lake is only around a 50 min drive. Also unless you want to check out Lake George you can easily do TGE in a half a day and then drive 2 and a half hours to Agawam, this is my local park and the crowds all tend to go towards the water park leaving the dry area mostly empty. -
Golden Horse Builds A Dive Machine

^ Thats not a Golden Horse, thats a Hebei Zhongye Metallurgical Equipment Manufacturing who somehow manages to make even worse knockoffs than Golden Horse. -
Golden Horse Builds A Dive Machine

Only Golden Horse could make a B&M Dive Machine with Intamin dual spine track -_-. Also that 11 inversion coaster looks like it will be rough as hell -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
3Mutts replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
All I hope is this doesn't lead to one train operation or stupid headrests being added -
^ That actually isnt a custom SLC it is their Shenlin layout which is featured on one other SLC Snow Mountain Flying Dragon at Happy Valley Shenzhen. The only custom SLC is Odyssey at Fantasy Island (Great Nor'easter technically counts but it only has a slightly different layout from the standard SLC)

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
3Mutts replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ People were worried due to it having a MCBR and that CP would trim it to death there to save money on maintenance. In fact the only other RMC to have a MCBR is NTAG -
La Ronde Discussion Thread
3Mutts replied to Skyscraper's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
To be honest TGE isnt even that bad, sure the rides arent that great but it has alot of charm that the other SF parks have gotten rid of. Really all its missing is another decent coaster to along with the Comet. Also the season passes there are alot cheaper than at SFNE and SFGADV both of which are within day trip driving distance from Albany.
