The Great Escape (TGE) Discussion Thread
3Mutts replied to Red Benny's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Looks cool, the park needed another thrill ride and this fits the bill (hopefully it's not an upcharge). Also this is not replacing Condor, this is going where the gem pan mining upcharge attraction currently is -
Nope, January 2020. I honestly dont see how they can get this ride and the area its in ready by the end of 2019 they still have a ton of work to do. Doubt it's going to take another 4 months, track work is complete. True but they still have to do all the electrical work, testing, queue, and getting the new area done. It may not be January but I can see it being November or December.

Bobsled has been rumored to leave for years. Ill believe it when I see it, glad you got to ride it though seeing as how unreliable it is. -

I can see WT being moved, its kind of the perfect coaster for relocation since its compact and can fit in a tight location. I also remember hearing rumors of WT possibly being relocated to CGA. -
Well in the past i’d cut them some slack, but now with Six Flags’s large sums of money along with prices of everything jacked up this year (20 dollar parking, and don’t forget the line-slowing fast passes), there’s no excuse anymore, especially with larger attendance numbers than in years past. I’ve never heard this many gp even starting to realize just how pathetic the park is lately. Every line you hear constant complaints from everybody about how often things are broken, or how slow the lines move here. They need to do something about it. No, they don't. Darien Lake's core customer base doesn't have anywhere else to go, so the park will continue to suck, no matter how much money is behind it. Also, Six Flags doesn't own this place....they just operate it. There's a limit to how much they're willing to invest, which is what I called way back when the "return to Six Flags" was announced. Obviously if the park is as busy as you say, that's good for them financially, not an indicator of people getting fed up and not going. Besides, 45 minutes or an hour is not a "super long line." La Ronde is not owned by Six Flags yet even that park manages to have two trains on their major coasters. Darien Lake has no excuse to have only one train on ROS and keep running the parts bin train they are using for Mind Eraser.

What's wrong with the Boomerangs!

The Boomerang at SFDK uses second gen Vekoma trains not Arrow trains. -

Lets hope they remove the awful modifications Cal OSHA required for it to run in California. I heard Insane at Grona Lund is pretty good. -
1. Not that bad, unless you see a ton of tour buses in the parking lot I don't think it'd be worth getting FP. 2. Go to Kingda Ka first and El Toro after. Other than that any order will do. 3. Zumanjaro, Houdini, the Parachute Tower, Justice League (unless you rode one of its clones), and Wonder Women are all worth doing. 4. DO NOT SKIP THE SAFARI that's one of the best attractions at this park.

I remember trying to ride it but it broke while we were in line and they removed it the year after so sadly I never got the credit. -
Another Frisbee Pendulum Accident In India
3Mutts replied to t-forty's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You perfectly described my dads visit to India for business, after witnessing that he told the company he never wanted to go back there again. Hes also been to Bangladesh which he described as a poorer and dirtier India. -

I might just have been lucky, but in the last two years I'd say, I've been to La Ronde several times where the lines were fairly manageable even on days where I expected crowds. However it is probable that there will be more people on a Wednesday, especially in the evening, as it's a fireworks day. It is also true that if you go right at the opening you will have to wait in line for a while to get in the park, so unless you're pressed by time or really want to spend a lot of time at the park I would suggest you to wait one or two hours after opening to go. If you have at least a Platinum membership you don't have to wait in that line as you can go through the membership entrance. I learned this when I went in May, and it REALLY helps as you get a good couple hours of no lines before all the regular pass holders and ticket people come in. -

Because the Quebeckers wouldn't like that. They are EXTREMELY protective over their french heritage and push back strongly against any attempt to anglicize them. Quebec actually has a law that says that businesses MUST have a french name and that french name needs to have priority over the English name. -

Bad probably. La Ronde has awful operations and unlike other parks there really isn't a slow day since its extremely easy to get to via the Metro. Also if you don't have a platinum or diamond membership I highly recommend getting one, La Ronde has a stupid entrance system where you have to wait in this hour long line because of how inefficient they are but if you have at least a platinum membership you can use the member entrance and skip the entrance line. This allows you a good two or three hours before everyone else gets in to do what ever you want. -

I think Vampire was planned to be Batman: The Ride, but due to licensing issues it didn't work out. Does anyone know if this park got free wifi like other Six Flags parks this year? I might need it as my phone plan doesn't have out of the country service. La Ronde does have WiFi, it pretty much works everywhere the only place I had connection issues was near Le Vampire. -
