Favorite Summers/Dinn Coaster Poll
3Mutts replied to djw44's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Sadly out of the ones Ive ridden, Mean Streak is the best. -
^^ I think Paramount removed Stealth because it was a maintenance nightmare and had problems that couldn't really be fixed without taking it apart (Similar to the GIBs). Also Carowinds did need a new ride. If I'd I had to guess, the first B&M to go away would either be Time Machine at Freestyle Amusement Park because its been SBNO for 4 years and I'm pretty sure the tropical South Carolina weather hasn't been too nice to the steel. Another possibility is Vortex at CGA due to it not being painted for what seems like forever.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

^ Nasty birds, I hate what they do to Raptor (one really stupid one built its nest up there once), I can see why Cedar Point goes with white now because the poop on Maverick isn't as noticeable as Raptors. Also I'm I correct in saying that Gatekeeper has no trims, if it is true then Gatekeeper will probably be one of the better newer B&Ms. -

TPR Florida Amusement Industry Tour!

Nice report, it's amazing to see all the things that Sally does to pull off an amazing ride. I hope to see more of thier shooting dark rides on the East Coast as they are some of the best dark rides around. -
^ Its the price of gas, this was a up charge attraction so the park wants to see profit from it, if the attractions cost (gas and replacement parts) out weighs the money it brings in then its best to take it out and put something that will draw money in its place. In fact I think this has nothing to do with the environment, we got to remember Cedar Fair is a company out to make a profit and not a organization trying to do something to protect the environment.

Amusement Ride Breakdown!
3Mutts replied to Mr Stratosphere's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Was on Volcano at Kings Dominion launched fine and did the whole coarse but when our train got into the breaks it stopped and we were stuck for maybe 10min. IDK what happened but when I got off I saw matenance men pushing the train out of the station, the ride opened shortly after. -

^^ What about this? (Ocean Park, Hong Kong, China) Anyway, Gatekeeper looks really good. Hopefully it rides as good as it looks! -
Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

Was at the park all Spring Break (New York's). I was VERY impressed by the park with the fact that it was clean, pretty well themed, and well balanced. I rode: Dominator 8/10: Was good, a little more rattly than when I rode it at Geauga Lake but still pretty good. Backlot Stunt Coaster 6/10: Same as all the other ones, surprised by how many effects worked. Grizzly 10/10: This ride is seriously underrated, it has some AWESOME airtime in the front and is pretty smooth, amazing wooden coaster! Rebel Yell 8/10: Nice coaster, could have had more airtime but still a nice out & back wooden coaster. Hurler 0/10: This thing is AWFUL! In those turns you could really feel the PTC shuffle and the rest of the ride is boring. I can see why this company only built two coasters, I hope this dies before Anaconda or Shockwave. Anaconda 1/10: Did hurt a little but wasn't too bad, the under water tunnel is cool. Shockwave 1/10: Squished my nuts, still better than Hurler. Woodstock Express 7/10: Good kids coaster, don't see how it ranks lower than some other abominations. Ricochet 6/10: A standard Mack Wild Mouse, not bad but not great either. Volcano, The Blast Coaster 9/10: Great launches along with the great shot out of the top of the ex-Smurf Mountain, could have had a better ending than turning into the breaks. Flight of Fear 8/10: A great indoor launch coaster as long as you don't put your hands up (you get flung around otherwise). Avalanche 7/10: Better than the Intamin Bobsleds due to it having a smoother transition into the brakes, less rattly as well. Intimidator 305 10/10: AMAZING ride! Very forceful with nice negatives and positives. Great Ride, Intamin Really out did themselves with this one. Congo, The Grove, and Planet Snoopy Intimidator 305, my second favorite steel coaster Looks like Dominator got a B&M Maintenance Ball Whats with theses connecters floating in mid air? They look very odd, where theses there when Dominator was at Geauga Lake? Good bye Kings Dominion, I hope to see you again very soon! -
Hey guys, we may be heading to Busch Gardens next week (probably Wednesday or Thrusday) and was wondering a few things: 1. What will the crowds be like (I imagine light but then again you never know) 2. What order should we do the rides in so we can get all the coasters in and the major flats/darkrides? 3. Are there any deals avaible at stores (I remeber one from last year but I dont know if it is still going)?

Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

^ I agree, the new trains definetly make the ride seem less clunky than the old ones. Also those new magnetic brakes help aswell. -
My favorite Sasquatch at TGE , I like how the towers are angled so each side gets a nice view unlike Power Tower at Cedar Point. I do agree with the person who said smaller S&S towers are better, it's the exact opposite with the Intamin ones.

As long as they arent adding OSTRs Im fine with it (Im pretty sure they wont). -
I dont really know, both have positvies and negatives. Themeparks usually provide great scenery, food, and service but dont really have much in terms of thrills (exceptions to this are parks like Europa Park) while Amusementparks offer tons of thrilling rides but not much in terms of scenery or food. I would say I like Themeparks more because I have had alot better times at Themeparks than Amusementparks in general (exceptions are parks like Knoebels).

New B&M trains on Steel Dragon
3Mutts replied to Trevor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^ Its Asian culture, they dont like to sit on wet or dirty seats (I remember in Everland and Lotte World in South Korea in which they would use a squiegee to clean the seats on the log flumes).
