  1. I REALLY hope it is a retheme of Ride of Steel, the name sounds like something the Chinese would come up with and it is just a shell of its former self.
  2. ^ Yes the Twisted Twins Trains are in SFStL under the Batman: The Ride station along with Ninjas 3rd train, I assume they are being used as part donors for The Boss. Here's a picture:
  3. I have an idea for an unique coaster but not sure how feasible it is or if its already been done. I think a totally underground rollercoaster would be awesome. It would take a lot of earth moving and concrete to make a hole that is 200 or 300 feet deep but that would be totally awesome. You could give it a runaway subway theme. There is one and it is one of the oddest rides I've ever Ridden: http://rcdb.com/1336.htm
  4. Lets hope that works out as the former East Germany doesn't have many (I think Spreepark is the only one still) parks.
  5. Great for SFDK, I hope that TGE (my home park) has a good replacement and that it doesn't end up like SFMM as it still has a lot of charm left.
  6. From what I remember (buried in the thread here) Greezed Lightning is being removed (a trip in 2011 shows TREES growing through very rusted track) and is being replaced by a small wooden coaster (Wooden Warrior like) which will also take the former Road Runner Express pad. Here is the trip: http://queencitydiscovery.blogspot.com/2012/02/from-ruins-of-kingdom-boardwalk-rises.html?m=1
  7. ^ Flying Turns is a Wooden Bobsled coaster that has been under construction since 2005. Knoebels is basically trying to revive a old concept from the 1930s and are having trouble to make it meet modern standards.
  8. ^ If there is a will, there is a way. Look at Alton Towers, they can't build anything above tree height and have sever noise limitations and look at the innovative coasters they have (Nemesis, Oblivion, Air, Thirteen, and The Smiler [sW7]). KK will find a way to make innovative rides no matter how many limitations they have.
  9. ^ Not yet, it could still be canceled (cough*Bluegrass Boardwalk*cough). I wouldn't rename the thread till we see restoration/demolition work on the site.
  10. Looks nice, glad to hear the 10 inversion coaster is a Intamin and NOT a half assed Chinese knockoff like Journey to the Stars is going to be. Also I'm pretty sure we will see the infamous Golden Horse Spinning Coaster in this park.
  11. I know Ed loves this park but he sounds like a mad man to take this offer in a bussiness sense, the state is taking all his profits and assets (rides)! Never the less its great to hear KK MIGHT reopen.
  12. ^ That's great! Lets hope that the 3rd time is the charm and that Kentucky Kingdom will reopen.
  13. ^ I think there will be a bridge over the road. So I'm assuming they are moving Safari Kids here? Looks really nice, I hope it is somewhat themed.
  14. Come on guys, we all know they are going to demolish half the park to build the casino!
  15. ^^^ Ok a few things about your pervious post. Clones: Clones are fine IMO (even the crappy SLCs and Boomerangs) as the GP are not going to be traveling to go to an amusement park outside their local park unless its Disney World/Land. They don't care about their being a clone of their Boomerang in Uzbekistan like some coaster enthusiasts do because they don't know about it! Also, with the price of gas, how many people are going to travel all the way across Missouri just to go to WOF, the number is pretty small. I think this part of your post it to complain about your used Boomerang, while it may not be what the park needs, it could end up being decent if Six Flags replaces the trains (they probably will as parts for Arrow trains are becoming scarce and the fact Arrow trains arent compatible with the magnetic breaking system it will be getting) with Vekomas MK1212 trains or trains similar to Wiener Praters Boomerang (lapbars). Maintenance: Cedar Fair isn't exactly good with this either, Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point is REALLY beginning to need a paint job and Mavericks tunnel themeing has all been turned off. Also Disaster Transport was a laughing stock of a dark ride. Food: Agree here, Six Flags food selection does suck but so does Cedar Fairs. Parking lot: All parking lots suck in some way, it's a fact of life. Be thankful they don't make park on grass. New Additions: I see Six Flags going back to the old days on this one. During the time those additions were put in there was a RRP (there is a RRP now) and smaller Six Flags parks are beginning to get better additions (Iron Rattler at SFFT looks like their best addition this year and Full Throttle being the second to worst). Also SFStL still gets some nice additions (American Thunder is pretty good and Pandemonium is a excellent family coaster). Give Six Flags time as a Rocky Mountain treatment on The Boss could be coming for all you know. Following the Standard Oil Strategy: Not really anymore, but this was definitely true during the Premier Park days. Putting all the best coasters in 2 or 3 parks: Cedar Fair does this too, Knotts Berry Farm, Cedar Point, Canada's Wonderland, Kings Island, and Kings Dominion get the good coasters while Dorney Park, Valley Fair, Michigan's Adventure, and CGA get nothing or hand me downs (CGA looks like that could be changing due to the new stadium and a more cooperative council)
  16. This game is a miracle to Roller Coaster Enthusiasts! It looks like they are trying to bring a RCT3 game into the current era of graphics and realism, great job Pantera, I will definitely be buying this game.
  17. The name sounds like something the Chinese would come up with (after all they did name a coaster Super Speed Cool Cool Bear ) however with the story surrounding the ride it does make sense. Either way The Smiler looks like it will kick ass and could be Gerstlauers best coaster they ever made.
  18. ^^ Ok all the programmers on this game MUST be coaster enthusiasts, that looks PERFECT!
  19. I don't know how I feel about this, on one had it could be even more intense but on the other it could become less comfortable. I still hope they don't do this with all the B:TRs until they see how this one pans out.
  20. I wouldn't call Six Flags as a whole bad but certain parks (SFMM, SFA, La Ronde) are bad. Personally while SFGADV, SFNE, and The Great Escape are no Disney or Europa Park they are still very nice and have nice features about them. This being said though I think Six Flags can improve on some things (better food and less annoying ads) and hopefully they will in the future.
  21. Apollo maybe fine, but I DON'T want Six Flags to take over Sea World, their parks don't mix well on standards such as themeing (crappy vs great) and services (SF is getting better but they are still no where near Sea World quality). If it goes through I can see this not ending up well for the Sea World parks and Six Flags.
  22. That model of a Troika looks very promising!
  23. Yay! T Express got second place (didn't expect it to win due to its location but El Toro is another ride I'd rank up there with it ) Pretty good list, it is definitely way more accurate and fair then the Golden Tickets.
  24. SW7 is looking really good! I'm also glad to hear Oblivion is getting a paint job, it looked very faded the last time I was there.
