Worst Coaster Ever?
yankees15 replied to Mind Eraser's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have to say Rollies Coaster at Morey's Piers was the worst coaster I have ever ridden. OTSR on a wild mouse type coaster is just ridiculous! Ever single turn I smacked my head on the restraints and it was very uncomfortable. -

^There were people working on it the whole time I was there. From what I could see was there was one piece where track had to be placed but i could have easily missed other spots. There were also two cars on the track. -

Looks like you had a nice time at the park. Goliath looks like an awesome ride to me, all about airtime! -
My dad and I decided that we would like to take a trip out to Knoebels this summer because we haven't been there in about 10 years. We decided last week that this Tuesday would be the day to go since Tuesdays are normally one of the least crowded days to visit an amusement park. Ride reviews in no order: Twister- Let me just say that this is a very unique wooden coaster. I loved the double lift hill and the first drop was pretty good providing some nice floater air. The couple turnarounds were intense as was the double helix. The coaster didn't have that much air, but it did have some spots. Overall it was a great ride but was a little rougher than I would have liked. 7/10 Phoenix- All I have ever heard about the Phoenix was wonderful things, and I can't recall ever hearing a negative comment about this coaster. My first ride on the Phoenix was in the second row and it was quite disappointing actually. I found it had nice floater air but I only felt one spot of ejector. Then I rode it in the back seat later in the day and it blew me away. The first drop was fabulous and the bunny hills were insane providing strong floater to ejector on every hill! I found myself on three separate occasions throughout the ride almost standing up, it was great! 9/10 High Speed Thrill Coaster- This was a nice little coaster that was pretty exciting. I loved the manuel braking by the operator. The ride itself was really smooth and had nice pops of airtime on the hills. We went around 4 times which was a plus! 6/10 Flume- This log flume was perfect. It had everything you could ask for in a log flume: two big drops, a tunnel, and a nice calm journey through the trees. 8/10 Pioneer Train- Was a nice relaxing journey under the Twister and through the woods on its one mile plus journey. This became one of my favorite train rides. 8/10 Old Smokey Train- Another fun train ride but the seats were very small and were a little uncomfortable, but it was another great ride. 6/10 The park was pretty crowded with at least half of the parking lot used, but the rides were only station waits. This was because of amazing dispatch times. On the Phoenix I counted how long it would take for the train to come to a complete stop, unload the train, load and check the train, and dispatch. This took on average 20 seconds. The fastest I counted was 16 seconds and the longest was 26 seconds. The Twister was also dispatching in under 30 seconds! Great job Knoebels ride ops! Overall I had a great time in the park and I am looking forward to coming back in the future. Ride counts: Phoenix- 3x Twister- 1x High Speed Thrill Coaster- 1x Flume- 1x Pioneer Train- 1x Old Smokey Train-1x

East Coast Trip Part 2
yankees15 replied to Fredlv1's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It really looks like I missed a great coaster in Superman when I went down to Virginia this summer, but I didn't have time to stop at SFA. Looks like the park is really fun with a few good coasters though. Thanks for these wonderful pictures. -

I going with Steel Force even though that's the only one I've ridden. This year it is running a lot faster than it has been in previous years. Also the mcbr has been on light this year which has been resulting in pretty strong air over the bunny hills. -
East Coast Trip Part 2
yankees15 replied to Fredlv1's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Another great trip report! I am really enjoying reading your trip reports and I am excited to read the rest. I didn't think Alpengeist was the best inverted coaster out there though. I know I am going to get bashed for this but i prefer Talon to Alpengeist. Alpengeist was just a little to rough and shaky for it to be the best. Maybe I just caught it on a bad day, but it is an awesome ride. -

Nice trip report so far! I'm looking forward to reading the rest of it. I have never been to Clementon Lake and it doesn't look like I'm too much, but it would be nice to take a ride on J2. How were the line for J2 by the way? -

Nice trip report! I haven't seen much of this park before. I have a question for you. Is Colossus the Fire Dragon the same ride as Laser at Dorney? Both rides look the same. -
What's your favorite Flat ride?
yankees15 replied to FlyingScooter's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I would defiantly have to say that my favorite flat ride is Drop Zone at Kings Dominion. There is nothing like being 305 feet in the air and dropping at over 70 mph. -
What is your next park?

I am probably going to go to Dorney Park once or twice more this month, but my next park after that will be Hersheypark the first full week of August. -

Going to PKD and Carowinds for first time
yankees15 replied to dwerling's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
In my opinion Hypersonic is only rough on the turn after the hill. The launch is really fast, powerful, and smooth. The climb is pretty smooth with maybe a jolt or two but nothing bad. At the top you get some sweet ejector air. The drop is vertical but only for a short time, and there is some air on the drop as well. The big turn is pretty rough, but all it is is the train shaking from side to side so you get bounced around a little. Then the last hill you get some more ejector air but it is right into the breaks which stop the train VERY quickly, so brace yourself. -

yankees15 replied to dwerling's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have only been to King's Dominion so i can only help for that park. Here is the order to ride in: Hypersonic XLC- front row Hurler- front row Ricochet Rebel Yell (both sides) Drop Zone Tomb Raider Volcano- front and back are awesome! Flight of Fear Anaconda Italian Job- front row Alvalanche Shockwave Grizzly- front row I personally loved Hurler and thought it was smooth. Everyone says how rough it is but on my ride there was only one rough part and that was the turn after the first drop. The rest of the ride was filled with airtime. Grizzly on the other hand I thought was really rough and I didn't enjoy the ride one bit. Maybe I caught Hurler on a good day and Grizzly on a bad day.
