  1. Wow they just keep popping up!
  2. Really? That definitely shouldn't be possible!
  3. ^ DonkeysWaffles probably meant conversion.
  4. There are a few older woodies where I can touch the handrails so I'm not really going to count that. On one of my rides on batman at Warner Madrid my foot hit a few needles of one of the pine trees around the ride. I was wearing sandals so I could feel it yet it wasn't painful. I never tired it but on TTD at CP (as it has lap bars only) you can lean your body to one side meaning you reach pretty far out with your arms extended. I saw one guy doing it during the launch and I imagined myself doing that during the 270º roll on the way down with all those supports so close. I guess that would be pretty close. I often think about this. For instance, on rides like TTD or KK you hear that voice saying "arms down, head back,...." and there doesn't seem to be an actual reason for this other than the fact that someone with weaker arms may not be able to hold them as the train accelerates. I've always had my hands up with no problems so I often wonder what are the rides where we really should keep our arms down. I mean, on smaller rides or some stuff on fun fairs if they say to do so I won't have my hands up but when it comes to bigger "more serious" coasters I assume (maybe incorrectly, sometimes) that the clearances are all well done and there should be no problem and so when I hear/read instructions like these I'm never sure.
  5. A few new pictures I got from coasterfriends
  6. ^I haven't ridden it, but can you undo those "comfort" collars just like you can undo a normal seatbelt during the ride? If so, I do find it a bit odd that something mainly built for providing the riders "comfort" can easily turn into something that will make them panic, no matter how useless they are.
  7. Haha I like how they said "in cooperation with Rocky Mountains Construction." as if RMC was just giving a little help with the ride
  8. I was also like this until a few years ago. I would ride any coaster but, while I wouldn't refuse to, I didn't get on drop towers until I tried my first one at Portaventura and now I love them! I still get a bit nervous while I'm waiting for the car to drop, though.
  9. Basically. Now that they do gigas I also really like how the lift hills look with that thicker track and not too many (yet large) supports The funky turn (also because of the colors of the ride) looks great too
  10. ^I agree. Right now I'm used to knowing the layout of almost every coaster before I ride them and I don't find them less exiting because of that. There are still always some surprises as you don't know how each element will ride. The only rides I don't really know before I get in are smaller woodies and family coasters and I don't find them any more exiting because of that. However, like I said, that may be because I haven't got on a big ride I didn't know before for a long time.
  11. Looks like skyrider (now "Freestyle") is open. Source.
  12. Well, I'm directly related to all the Portuguese kings between 1640 and 1826.
  13. False. The person below me has gotten a sunburn this year.
  14. Hummmm. . .. .. yes Are you afraid of needles?
  15. Wow that's an impressive collection of flats!
  16. True. Skyrush's awkwardly shaped first drop which gives you a huge pop of air right when you thing it's over. Laterals on steel force's helix. The last turn on talon: very forceful. The airtime hill on abismo at parque de atracciones de Madrid. it produced way more air than I thought it would.
  17. I wasn't expecting to enjoy it and I also though it could be a bit uncomfortable but I actually found it very comfortable and a fun element. But then, it's a matter of opinion. Great bear's ridiculous ending. I know it was the easiest way to get the ride back to the brakes but anything else would have been better: another corkscrew, a helix or something like a heartline roll.
  18. ^Haha it kind of looks like they did
  19. ^The bigger ones do while the smaller ones like oblivion at gardaland baron 1898 are only nearly vertical.
  20. ^Yeah that's a bit odd... Didn't they have an intamin 10 looper?
  21. Even if they don't the acceleration on the lift or (if that's not enough) the bottom of the first drop will push the restraint all the way down.
  22. God that loop's going to be massive!
