Ocean Kingdom in China

Furius Baco? No tight turns, tight inversions etc but really intense. Exactly, and I'm sure B&M would be capable of doing something similar without FB's roughness. -
What do you want to see in your home park in 2015?
rcjp replied to adamd's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
While I can't call Parque Warner Madrid my home park (because it's not even in the same country) it's the one closest to me so I would really like to see RMC giving coaster express a hybrid treatment as it is terrible right now. Either that or getting a new coaster given that they haven't had any big one opening since they opened in 2002, an airtime based ride would suit well, I think. However, I don't really know how they're doing financially right now but I'm guessing not great as I've never seen the park even moderately crowded. -

Especially since the Banshee is known for her scream, the load roar would have for in very well with the theming if the ride. Exactly. What is it with every park that makes them want silent rides? I know it might be more "family friendly" but when was the last time that a new B&M actually had a decent roar to it? On top of that, I do really think it somehow enhances the ride experience. Take the case of Great Bear, it wasn't immensely forceful or intense but its roar makes it stand out and only adds to the ride, in my opinion. -

You might be a coaster nerd if when you hear certain objects falling on the floor (and they bounce more than once) you immediately think of the sound intamin accelerator coasters make when the launch dog is released into the catch car. -

^I don't think that weird thing on Dare Devil Dive is considered a top hat so, yes, I guess this will be the first one. -

Are they going to be this long? I think they look better than the two-cars ones usually used by Maurer. And will this be like freischütz at bayern park (in the way that it only runs one train that can go around the course more than once without stopping)? -
No. Have you ever broken any bone?

^^Nice video although I must say I'm a bit disappointed that there will be sand in the track. I know he said we will still hear the roar but I doubt it will be something like great bear and that would add something to the experience, in my opinion. They couldn't be smoother, I seriously have no idea what any of these people are talking about. When people, especially members of the GP, talk about "roughness", they don't always mean the same thing. When people say Batman is rough, they don't mean headbanging or vibration, they mean the sharp, "jerky" transitions combined with the forces. The transitions aren't smooth like we're used to with newer B&Ms, I've never been on a coaster that whips you into inversions like Batman does. It's those sudden changes that jerk you around that people say are "rough". "That track in front and to the right of us. Are we seriously about to be riding that track in a second? We're getting there from here? How's that supposed to work? *gets whipped around first corkscrew* Oh, that's how." Yeah that's pretty much it and I do wish B&M still made their inverted corkscrews like that, especially considering that these new restraints translate into no headbanging. On the interview he mentioned that all the great inverted elements will be there but I do think a good old snappy corkscrew is somehow missing. As to what you said about people meaning jerky transitions by rough I also agree but that's because, if you're not prepared, your head can hit the restraints. However, as I've already said, I do think that with these vest-style restraints they could have such transitions without any headbanging. -

I think those long trains seem a bit strange for a coaster of this size but it does look cool. -
Entertaining, funny ride ops.

Launching Wicked Twister is probably the funnest thing you can do working at Cedar Point. No question. Of course, it takes a lot of technique because the ride doesn't launch the instant you push the button...you have to learn to time it correctly. I also remember when I went to dorney and was riding possessed, the ride operator would usually say: "You will be possessed in 3,2,1" and then launched the train but when it was our turn she just said: "You will be possessed .. . . now!" and there we went. -

^Assuming the GP does enjoy riding coasters, do they need a bigger break than the one provided by waiting in line to ride again after an intense ride? If I think of my mom, for instance, she was dead after riding batman (at great adventure) but then she doesn't really like coasters overall. For those who do, is it really a need for them to have such pauses? Because unless there is nobody in line and you go again without leaving your seat there will be, at least, a 3min (or more) break between rides, just by leaving the place, getting back to the queue, sitting and waiting until the train is dispatched and, in most cases, climbing the lift hill. -

Weird Roller Coaster Dreams
rcjp replied to alpengeistdude321's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I had this really odd one today. I was at Hershey Park with my parents and, somehow, convinced my mom to go with me on sooperdooperloper. First of all, all the seats were side by side, forming a line which meant we would ride it sideways. Secondly, once the lap bars were lowered, a snake was placed on riders' laps (yes, I did say a snake, a giant green one) which is kind of odd as I'm not particularly afraid of them. Obviously I wasn't very confident, specially as I would be sitting on the second seat which was close to the snake's head and the woman sitting in the front was constantly being bitten. As soon as I sat the beast bit me, I managed to grab and somehow kill it. And then, when I left the ride, everyone was calling me a killer, murderer,.. which kind of pissed me off considering I did it in self defence. Well, anyway... -

Talon was way better than I thought it would be with one of the best pacings I've ever experienced on a ride and with some forceful moments too (the helix after the immelmann and the turn after the corkscrew). I think it's a great invert. Am I the only one who has never experienced a rough ride on a batman clone? I'm not doubting anyone's word but it's weird that I've always found them so smooth. This year I rode the one at Great Adventure (in the back and in the front) and it was 100% silky smooth, not one big of headbanging whatsoever and it is 20 YEARS OLD now. I found that impressive. -
^I did get some nasty rattle on the bottom of nitro's first drop in the back but, apart from that, the ride was very smooth.

That would certainly make things more interesting. The colours do look awesome and work well with the track. I'm glad to see this ride testing. -
They're both awesome but I will give my vote to the intamins as they have already proved to age rather well. Intamin drop towers or S&S combo towers?

You might be a coaster need if... When driving down the interstate you have this undieing feeling that a roller coaster is about to appear above the horizon. Or if you drive down the highway just to see a rollercoaser Interesting, if I know I won't be able (for some reason) to ride a coaster, I will rather not see it at all. I feel it would be a bit masochist (for me) to pass by a coaster I won't be riding very soon.
