  1. The Bally one might be that they flew over Bally, PA. which would be a clue to the direction they are flying in. The Happy Horse year must mean it's China somewhere (as previously stated it is the Year of the Horse). Takara Tomy has made some Disney products over the years (from the meat cow machine picture). Devo had characters called The Chinamen in their shows. There are mine train rides at Hong Kong Disneyland and Ocean Park. Could your next flight be from Newark (in New York where Carnagie's Deli is) to Hong Kong International Airport. You could easily hit the two parks in Hong Kong followed by Ocean Kingdom and the parks in Shenzhen too.
  2. I wonder if all three zones are opening at the same time. It definitely sounds amazing. Can't wait for more details, especially on the "Velociraptor Launch Coaster".
  3. Anything with an intense element that really knocks your socks off or intensity throughout. Preferably without bruises! Ones that after you walk off you feel light headed from the forces. For example: Intimidator 305 (grey out woo hoo), Furius Baco (and nowhere near as rough as I expected), Dodonpa (that launch makes you feel like you're going BLIND), S&S 4D coasters (messes up your mind), Shuttle Loop (the one at Nagashima Spa Land specifically with the launch and the force on the loop), Nemesis (it's pretty relentless), Manta (for the pretzel loop), Kawasemi (intense airtime). I've realised I don't really care about height and speed can deceptive.
  4. Fujiyama lures you into a false sense of security with the first half, then turns into something stupid in the second half so I vote for that. I also agree with Anaconda. Another ride that starts out making you think it's an "ok" ride but turns into a nightmare. Fujiyama was just more physically painful for me.
  5. Great trip report, hope you enjoyed it over here. It's a shame you didn't get to ride the Mine Train at Ocean Park, that ride has great views. I haven't actually been on the observation tower yet, there seems to be a ridiculous queue for that even on the emptiest of days. I also love the old Hong Kong section, it seems that the look of old Hong Kong and Singapore seems to be making a come back in popular culture and I can't wait to see it. I saw Kowloon Walled City in one of my brothers games the other day.
  6. Thanks so much for the info, was going to go the weekend before the 1st but will wait until the 2nd of March.
  7. Thanks for this trip report. Looks amazing. I must sort out a visa to China so I can visit this.
  8. First visit to parks marked with a star. Definite: Six Flags Great Adventure* Knoebels* Hershey Park* Dorney Park* Rye Playland* Lake Compounce* Quassy* Six Flags New England* WDW Sea World Busch Gardens Universal Funspot USA* Cedar Point* Six Flags Great America* Kings Island* Holiday World* Beech Bend* Indiana Beach* Kentucky Kingdom* Worlds of Fun* Silver Dollar City* Possibly: Hong Kong Disneland Ocean Park Thorpe Park (might try and hit some parks in the UK I haven't been too, but I doubt I will have the time/money next summer)
  9. I rode I-305 about 5 times in one day and I think I greyed out twice. Also greyed out on the Manta pretzel loop, but only once.
  10. 1. Dodonpa 2. Ultra Twister 3. Shuttle Loop (the one at Nagashima Spa Land specifically) That Japan trip.
  11. I think Thorpe is due for a new coaster in 2015... Wishful thinking?
  12. We don’t look as drunk as I remember being... Maybe you edited out some of the worst photos.
  13. So many unflattering ones (like every one with me in). Damn I loved that Shuttle Loop. I think I went on that thing 10 times And totally forgot about you accidentally getting all those tokens from the change machine. This trip was so much fun. I miss Japan.
  14. I’ve been on 3 out of 5. 1. Dragon Khan 2. The Incredible Hulk 3. Kumba Can’t wait to try Kumba again, it was quite a while ago that I got to ride it.
  15. The Shard has made London's skyline better. But my new home in Hong Kong has got to have one of the best skylines in the world. London Hong Kong
  16. Yes, it would be awesome if a park built a Doctor Who ride. There are more than enough casual fans in the UK to build hype. I don't think it would have to be updated for every Doctor either. They could show multiple Doctors, like they did in the 50th, or just not have the Doctor appear (like others have suggested). I think I would prefer a dark ride, but something similar to Veil of Darkness would be awesome.
  17. I really want that Premier Roundabout to get relocated. A ferris wheel as a lift hill? Someone has got to buy that!
  18. Trip: My six weeks in the US this summer, which includes New Hotness. So excited for my first US TPR trip. Coaster: Goliath. Attraction: Harry Potter Phase 2. Yeah I’m one of those people.
  19. The times I've been on the English Jungle Cruise boats, they do try and interact and tell the jokes. But it's like they don't understand what the jokes mean so it just falls a bit flat. At least they tried though. Hong Kong Disney has a lot of English and most of the Halloween stuff last year was in all three of the "official" languages of Hong Kong. Cantonese, Mandarin and English. There is more detail though in Cantonese, I think. Sometimes it's difficult to tell. They're pretty good at incorporating the three languages into the parks.
  20. I’ll have to say central Florida, as I have been back there 5 times and I’ve only been to SoCal twice. Islands of Adventure and Epcot always tip the balance in favour of Florida.
  21. I was once working on a ride when one of these douchebags turned up. He was walking away and shouting that he was going to guest services to get me fired. At that point I had to laugh. Really? You want your child to be unsafe?
  22. If Texas goes ahead I will sign up for that one too. Never thought Texas would be offered!
  23. (Source) This is the last picture I could find of construction, I'm wondering whether it will open this year or not. I've seen a ferry direct from Hong Kong mentioned in some articles but can't find any sort of proof of one. From http://entertainmentdesigner.com/news/theme-park-design-news/chimelong-ocean-kingdom-to-open-in-late-2013/
  24. Shambhala is a hyper not a giga. It's a really good coaster but the only thing that makes it better than most US hyper coasters by B&M (in my opinion) is how new it is and the level of theming. I'd love to see an Intamin there, but if it is B&M then the only thing that would make me excited was 300ft+ flying coaster. I mean, would that even be possible? That would be one scary lift hill.
