No. Do you make your own return address labels?

Too bad Speed: The Ride isn't running anymore. That's a fun one, and it's right across the street from the Stratosphere. I got that credit in 2001. And speaking of that, you also missed the High Roller that was up there. The ride itself wasn't much, but just the idea of a coaster that high made it a worthy credit to get. I'm glad I got it in 2004 before it closed for good. Big Shot is a great ride. Haven't done Insanity, but did ride X-Scream---all by myself in the front seat! Mancrappin' Express...I did that once in 1999, so I haven't ridden the new trains yet. My last trip on Desperado was in 1999 as well, and I've only ridden the pink and blue trains. The yellow one never seems to run when I'm there. Overall, I'm glad you had a blast. Eric

I'm taking so much stuff to the grave that they'll need two burial plots---one for my body, and one for the stuff! Have you ever been to Southern California?

Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride
ebl replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I almost headed out to the park today because...well, I just felt like it. Luckily, I remembered that there was an upcoming Saturday where SFMM was closed for a private event. That day is today, as I learned by checking out the website before getting on the road. Maybe I'll just go tomorrow. I'm hoping that the tower will be open so I can get a bird's eye view of the Terminator construction. The pictures I've seen here are nice, but there's nothing like seeing it first hand. Eric -
^ Welcome! I'm also an ACE member, coming up on 20 years in the club. "PS: Sorry for my bad english..." (Bob!) Believe me, you write better English than a lot of Americans do! And welcome to you, too! Eric

I suspect that there is some consideration for earthquakes in this design, which would explain the amount of wood and that "grid" thing. This looks like it'll be a great ride. In this picture, I'm guessing that right hand turn in the distance is the final turn into the brake---at least it appears to be. It looks like it will be taken at a relatively high speed, making for a nice finish. Eric -
I have an 18-year-old daughter. And that's it. Do you eat marshmallow?

I still remember the '60s, but we won't go there... For me, the '80s and '90s were...eh. Nothing special, really. Eric

I prefer tea or Diet Coke. Do you like M&Ms?

Because you're in a place of...solitude. Better ideas come from the peace and quiet of a room occupied by just one person. Smells be damned! It's not about the nose. It's about the imagination that each of us has. Why don't they make fast food cups out of #2 plastic so more of them will be recycled? -
^ Most do, as do I, but honestly, I wish their burgers had bigger meat patties. I usually get the Flying Dutchman. That's the diabetic's Double Double, being that it's just two meat patties and a couple of slices of cheese. Period. Eric

Great Coasters Debuts New Website!
ebl replied to Evan1127's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The site looks great and is easy to navigate. One thing I noticed on the Terminator page, it says to "Click here" for project stats, but nothing happened. Broken link? Otherwise, it's great to see GCII coasters popping up all over the place. Clearly, they are quality rides and very popular with coaster fans all over. The only one I've personally ridden is ROAR up at SFDK, and that was in 1999 just after it opened. I got to wondering one thing: The standard Millennium Flyer train is 12 cars long. Is it possible to get one, say, nine cars long? The reason I thought about this is that the San Diego Giant Dipper is just ripe for this type of train, and its original Prior and Church trains had nine cars. To me, the current Morgan trains are not right for that ride (or the Santa Cruz Giant Dipper, either). An articulated train would be best, but I think 12 cars is too long, sort of like this question. Next spring, I look forward to a great GCII coaster at SFMM, a mere 40 miles from home! Eric -

LOL!!!1!! Last year when we got our new computer, the shop installed XP Pro and said they wouldn't even touch Vista. And it's a respected shop, too. If you went trick-or-treating, did you get any Reese's Peanut Butter Cups?
-
^ Sorry to hear that. I like teh kittehs... Tonight, I put a blend of four-cheeses on my burger instead of my usual Cheddar. It was good, but I missed the Cheddar. Eric

Actually, they'll all be closed and you'll have to take a security guard hostage with a BB gun and make him open the rides. Eric

"Will Six Flags ever consider hiring Intamin again?" (cooksta77) I'm guessing you mean "SFMM," because there are Intamin coasters all over the Six Flags chain. But I'll bet they will at some point. Eric

Yes, and a few before their opening day! Do you talk to your mom every day?

^ The signature that never gets old. Anyway, tonight's dinner included bacon. Yeah, it was at McDonald's, but it's still bacon. Eric

I don't think so...can't afford it. Do you have a lot of traffic on your street?

I've been to all but 43 of them. Someday... Eric

^ I just got back from doing that. Last night, I couldn't sleep because I was laying in bed next to a CHAINSAW!!1! I don't think I've heard anyone snore like that, and it gets worse as time goes on. Methinks it's time for some earplugs, or to get to bed before she gets there... Eric
