  1. Remember that SFMM was offered the Dark Knight coaster that SFNE ended up not building. Wisely, park management turned it down. Eric
  2. ^ Slow learning about arrows. < Slow on the freeway (I go 60, not 65). V Slow on everything (IQ is 60, not 100 or more)!
  3. I've been flipped the bird a few times. How can a red light (aka laser) in a computer mouse track its movement?
  4. "...if i fell off a ledge into the Grand Canyon for example, yeah that'd be kinda scary!!" (coastercrazyjames) If that happened, you wouldn't fear for long. The sudden stop at the end would take care of that! Eric
  5. Actually, I scare them... Are you excited and looking forward to Terminator at SFMM?
  6. "...anyone who complained in the Terminator thread has to wait in the car!" (Robb) Fixed for what should really happen. Eric
  7. I'm not actually sure those Arrow trains would run backwards, but my inclination would be towards saying that the couldn't." (AllenA07) Remember that Vekoma Boomerang trains are basically an Arrow design, and as we all know, half of a ride on a boomerang is backwards. But I really doubt that any park would run a giant Arrow multi-element coaster like that. Also, Ninja is a bit more extreme than XLR8 was, so I don't know if backwards operation would work there. What about a backwards flume ride? Eric
  8. "This GCI looks infinitely to the 99th power better than Psyclone" (Homer) My driveway looks infinitely to the 99th power better than Psyclone. But Terminator looks like it's going to be a lot of fun. Nothing record breaking or extreme, just a good time. And that's the kind of rides SFMM needs more of. Eric
  9. I used to count my rides, but stopped when I realized that it took up too much space in my head. Now I just enjoy 'em. Eric
  10. I have to guess the roof on each car was to discourage standing up and coming in contact with the track. The cars look funny, but I sure would have liked to have have even one chance to ride it. Eric
  11. ^ What's in the cage in the upper right of the picture? It looks like it's home to some kind of rodent. Eric
  12. "Mayonnaise...it's like Satan's poison." (CTU Agent) Amen to that. I will not touch the stuff. Funny thing---at one time, I was scared of getting diabetes, and look where I am today. Not the end of the world if you take care of yourself. But fears? I think losing a limb is my worst one. Eric
  13. Because he swims downhill with a nice tailwind. Why did they choose red to mean "stop?"
  14. I have some of this Knott's literature. It looks like you guys solved the mystery of when certain attractions were added/closed. From my own recollection: Bigfoot Rapids opened in 1988 Corkscrew closed in 1989 XK-1 opened in 1990 Boomerang opened 1991 Mystery Lodge opened in 1994 Jaguar opened in 1995 (I attended media day) Soap Box Racers/Gasoline Alley closed in 1996 Windjammer opened in 1997, closed in 2001 for good. Hope that helped. Eric
  15. I've known of this for a long, long time. And of course, most die-hard fans know that Schwarzkopf was the original manufacturer of Big Bad Wolf at BGE before Arrow took over the project. I wonder if it would have ended up something like this had it been finished by Schwarzkopf? Eric
  16. ^ We do know he's the 613th version of Kraken, so maybe he'll be gone for 613 days to collect his thoughts. Eric
  17. Um...no... Does your phone have a touch screen for controls/dialing/etc.?
  18. ^ Fellow Ventura County resident. < Fellow diabetic to Dan. V Fellow criminal to OJ!
  19. ^^ Maybe it was just San Diego County's Inmate Day at SFMM! Eric
  20. I rode backwards Colossus at SFMM on the orange train. What I think is funny is that they still say "Psyclone" on them! Eric
  21. I was going to post a report about my visit to SFMM today, but got lazy and didn't do it. So, now I'm off to the ATM for an 11pm for cash for the week. Eric
  22. ^ Scaredy cat. < LOL cat. V Cause of LOLs!
  23. No, but I hope somehow they can find a way to reopen it. I think it was a good idea. Have you ever had yogurt at Rockin' Berry?
  24. ^ I was out there today as well. Believe it or not, I actually almost forgot to ride Colossus backwards. When I realized I hadn't, I was right in front of Valencia Falls, so I went ahead and made the trek back there. I rode on the orange train in the very front row (back if the train was moving forward). On our ride, we actually climbed the lift alongside a red forward train and raced it all the way to the second turnaround, where it pulled ahead. Otherwise, I didn't stay for Fright Fest. I thought about it, but had some stuff to do at home. I did find out that Xtreme Play Pass holders get a Flash Pass good for all mazes when they purchase the $5 wristband. That's a good deal. And I saw William (wrs28330) setting up the show by the Gotham City arch and stopped to say hi. Eric
  25. ^ No, I'm still around, but stay kinda busy these days. Eric
