  1. "...as I understand it (this may just be an urban legend, if anybody actually knows I'd love to hear) racing it is not the greatest thing in the world for the structure itself." (AllenA07) I think that may have been true at one time, but with the lighter Morgan trains, racing isn't as much of a problem as with the old three-bench PTCs. Eric
  2. "It would be cool if the Ops cared enough to race them."(Bolliger&Mabillard) On my last visit a couple of weeks ago, that actually happened. Purely by chance, of course. I was in the front seat of the backwards facing orange-winged Psyclone train. The forward facing train we raced got off the lift first, but we caught up going around the first turnaround. During the next stretch, we were a bit ahead, but the forward train caught up and passed us on the second turnaround and we never caught up again. But a completely fair race is not possible on Colossus because of the track layout. Eric
  3. You are doing neither. What you are doing is creating a convex hole that gets taller in proportion to the depth of the concave hole you are creating. Why is our flag red, white, and blue? Couldn't they have chosen the three primary colors---red, blue, and yellow---instead?
  4. Absolutely! That'd be a thrill in itself! Do you ever eat at all-you-can-eat soup and salad places?
  5. Mind you, this is speculation, but I have heard that a five-hour private party at SFMM is somewhere in the neighborhood of $50,000. Not a bad deal if you can get, say 5000 friends at $100 each. It'd almost be like ERT on everything. Again---speculation. Eric
  6. Maybe this will signal the debut of B&M's 4th Dimension coaster trains. Eric
  7. I paid my cell phone bill today at the Verizon store. They have this bill payment machine that will even scan checks. Then it gives you a receipt and sends you on your merry way. Of course, it's cheaper to use a postage stamp and just put it in the mail instead of running across town to do it, but it was due today and I've been busy and didn't get around to putting it in the mail. So, that was my afternoon. Except for fish and chips for lunch with Diana. Eric
  8. Nope, never even heard of it. Is "fricken" considered a true cuss word?
  9. I've wondered about this, too. But then I realized it doesn't matter, so who cares? Eric
  10. I had fish and chips for lunch at Andria's up in Ventura. And I have some left for dinner. Eric
  11. No, because I want my teeth to stay inside my head. Have you ever gotten food poisoning?
  12. "...it's because in Australia many things are backwards or the wrong way...including Spiders that eat Birds!!!!" (SharkTums) And all this time I thought it was a problem with Vegemite... Eric
  13. No, all the guys were dressed in male clothing. Have you ever paid over $200 for your monthly cell phone bill?
  14. ^ The original Batman--The Ride opened at Six Flags Great America. Perhaps you could contact them and see what they have to offer? The worst you'd get is a "no." Of course, it's been 16 years, so... "...and one of the Italian firms." Zamperla? I don't know about inverted, but they did a flyer. Also, remember that Giovanola did one in South Africa. Best of luck on your project. Eric
  15. ^ Shoots paintballs. < Shoots guns. V Shoots off his mouth!
  16. "I just ate McDonald food." (Groteslurf) And you lived to tell about it? Just kidding! It's real food...kinda... Eric
  17. I filled up last night at $2.999, but I've seen it around here in the $2.85 range. Great to see this---now I hope that people don't go back to their gas wasting ways. As for me, I'm staying at 60 on the freeway and enjoying the 27+ mpg in my CR-V. Keeping the demand low will keep the prices low---at least till OPEC cuts production. Eric
  18. ^ I think it's cool that they put an open front on it. That model may give Millennium Flyers a bit of competition. Eric
  19. ^ The real Tinkerbell. < Not really Pumbaa. V Not really awake!
  20. He was out showing Charlie Brown how to kick the football even if Lucy pulls it away. Why didn't they make the holes in notebook paper square?
  21. If you take the last digit off of our house number and put it between the first two digits, then you'll have the address of Diana's youth pastor. And he lives on our street! Eric
  22. I am working, but I'll be home in time to hand out the candy. Is your printer a laser printer?
  23. I rode Montezooma's Revenge for the first time in November 1978, then just a few days later, we took a trip up to then Marriott's Great America. I noticed right off how both rides were very different, with Tidal Wave's train being braked on its backwards pass through the station. Also, of course, it was obvious that it didn't go very high up the back spike. I'm thankful that (so far), Cedar Fair hasn't ruined Montezooma's Revenge or removed it. We do indeed have a great ride, and as I've mentioned elsewhere, the only one still in its original location 30-1/2 years later. Eric
  24. ^ You're right about the position of the Shock Wave station vs. the Psyclone train storage building as being in different positions. Could SFMM have kept the station building to use as a covered train storage area and moved it? Just a thought... Eric
  25. Sure... (<-- Obviously not a Led Zeppelin fan.) Have you ever ridden in a locomotive or caboose?
