  1. ^ Then slap it. Slap it hard and slap it silly. Ho ho ho!!! Eric
  2. It's not really an i. It's one of those Spanish exclamation points at the beginning of a sentence. Why do they print $100 bills when hardly any stores will accept them?
  3. This is a great deal, except that I usually get the Xtreme Play Pass, which isn't discounted in this promotion. But even at its full $125 price, that pass is still the best way to go. Eric
  4. ^ Didn't direct his comments to anyone. < Didn't direct a movie ever. V Didn't direct his attention to where he was going and crashed into a bale of hay!
  5. Diana and Obama have something in common: they're both half white and have some roots in Hawaii. Eric
  6. Because your driveway doesn't have a foursquare court painted on it. Why aren't there peanut butter and jelly cups?
  7. Keep in mind, too, that the advertising doesn't have to be LED/LCD screens. When you're on an escalator/Speedramp, you move slowly enough to be able to read even something printed and posted. Look at those signs they have now---just a rolling fabric with a scrolling LED message on the top. Those work fine for what they're trying to do. Those big screens work on the Metro because the trains pass at a high enough rate of speed. Eric
  8. As soon as I tear myself away from this, let the sheet changing begin! Eric
  9. "I filled up for $1.53 today." (chmilo24) Your car must have a small tank! Even though prices are dropping, I'm still sticking to my easy driving. My CR-V is currently getting about 28 mpg overall, which is five mpg higher than the EPA says it's supposed to get---and they're usually on the high side anyway. I plan to fill up sometime this weekend or early next week, and it looks like I'll be paying less than $1.50/gallon when I do. Eric
  10. ^ Shoots innocent pieces of paper. < Shoots targets with guns. V Shoots cereal with spoons!
  11. Why does the Smart car look so dumb? Eric
  12. "GET OFF ME---I'M LAYING OUT!!!" What would happen if wood were as fragile as glass?
  13. ^ Its "remote" location sort of made that rather easy... Actually an escalator/ramp would be a prime place to put advertising and/or some form of entertainment. While ascending/descending it, you could watch LCD screens with ads/features. The L.A. Metro did that in the long stretch between the Hollywood/Highland stop and the Universal City one. Anyone here who's ridden that knows what I'm talking about. Eric
  14. "The Dragon constantly broke down and it went so slow that some people actually got off the ride in the middle of it and walked up the hill." (rba13) That is true. While I personally never stepped out of a Dragon car, I did see many others do that. That's why an escalator or Speedramp would be better. Eric
  15. You could, but their advice is all wet. Is there public transportation close to your home?
  16. ^ Jay and Co. have already said about eleventy zillion times that Metro will not be rehabbed and put back into service because Six Flags can't justify the expense and market it as a new attraction. Personally, I think something like that could be marketed as a way to get around the park and save energy---namely yours ("yours" being that of the guests'). Such a strategy worked 35 years ago when they built the old Dragon ride up the west (Ninja) side of the mountain. But I also know that the whole idea will fall on deaf ears. As for getting up the mountain on the west side, a USH Starway-type escalator system would be a possibility, though certainly an expense. Of course, it would have to have some sort of elevator to accommodate disabled guests to comply with the ADA. Or instead of escalators, use Disney-style Speedramps. Eric
  17. You only get so much time when you put a quarter in the slot. What would happen if Del Taco and Taco Bell merged?
  18. ^ Yearning for baseball. < Yearning for dinner. V Yearning for bunny pellets!
  19. Something like this would be great for X2 at SFMM---or any ride there, in fact. Also, I seem to recall something like this on Sierra Sidewinder at Knott's, but maybe it's only an onride photo. Eric
  20. Nope. Do you own any coaster parts?
  21. ^ I don't know how the weather is at Valleyfair!, but out here at SFMM, our off season is pretty mild and more favorable for construction. Also, as we've seen, a bunch of the bents are already prefabricated, meaning that all they'll need is to be hoisted into place and secured---a relatively quick process. Eric
  22. Believe it or not, I'm a lifelong SoCal resident and I have never been to Castle Park. I didn't even know they had Flyers there! So it looks like a trip to Riverside County is in order. Maybe I'll combine it with a trip to the Orange Empire Railway Museum. Anyway, that Fabbri coaster looks like the Pole Position ride that tours the county fair circuit. If it is, I recall that it wasn't much fun and I got pretty banged around on it at the Ventura County Fair a couple of years back. Nice Photo TR, by the way. Eric
  23. Concrete pictures. Cemented in my head for years to come. Eric
  24. Twenty-five---count 'em---twenty-five units of Lantus coming my way in 15 minutes. And as an encore, laundry comin' out of the dryer 15 minutes later. Eric
  25. ^^ I don't know about you, but would you really want her back after stabbing you in the back? Find someone with more class. Eric
