  1. ^ Even though I disagree with what you're saying ginzo - if you don't feel safe then don't go. Just one less person in front of the rest of us in line!
  2. I totally agree Robb, I can't see any way that Carowinds benefits out of these changes. Could this be a change suggested by Cedar Fair's lawyers?
  3. Thanks for the link. I imagine this would be fun enough to ride although it seems like the ride is over before it even gets started. I'll try to reserve judgement until I actually ride a ball coaster but that video doesn't make me really want to rush out and ride one.
  4. Count me in with the minority who's sad about BTTF going, that was my favourite ride when I first visited Orlando back in 1991! Wish I could have rode one last time! Still the Simpsons ride looks interesting, hopefully it will be more than just a simulator and have some dark ride type stuff in it too. The Simpsons lends itself to much more than just a ride so hopefully we'll see at least a well themed "area" come out of this.
  5. What's with the grave stone for La Via Volta? Did I miss something? Also it says "Die Coaster Fans"!
  6. I agree that it's not a great move in the eyes of us enthusiasts but this will be a great addition for the Pleasure Beach. The general public have no idea it's a second hand ride and don't care that it's an SLC. To them it's just an inverted coaster that goes upside down a few times. Infusion will be hugely popular this year, so while adding the second hand SLC seems like a lack of ambition on the part of the Pleasure Beach it's a good move for them.
  7. It's looking like it will be another few weeks before it's open, the 235 Club have their ERT session sometime in the middle of May, so I imagine public opening will be around about then. It looks like they've still got to do some work with the water effects and station buildings etc. Not long now.
  8. Real football for me, you know when you use your feet more than your hands. More specifically Celtic, the greatest club in the world! I watch a little American Football and find it enjoyable enough. I even went to a few NFL Europe games before that bombed in the UK. The other pro sports I enjoy to watch are boxing, F1 and snooker.
  9. Cool TR, looks like you had a fun day. I'm thinking about stopping by WOF this summer, although the reports that Patriot's one of the lamer B&M inverts is putting me off a bit. It looks like it's a fun ride though so I probably will end up visiting. It's not a big deal but I still can't stand the white stripe on Patriot's track.
  10. Good to see that KidTums finally managed to put in a full appearance in a furry photo! Glad you guys had a good day, can't wait for the full update!
  11. How about some preview pictures instead of just a link to your site?
  12. I know for me, the first time I clicked on this topic and saw nothing but a link I just hit the back button. It just looked like you were screaming "come visit my site!". Had I seen a few photos that piqued my interest like the ones you've now posted I'd have probably taken a look.
  13. That video is almost as bad as the one posted a few days ago!
  14. Loved the Desmond episode! Any episode of any show that reveals one of the main characters as a Celtic fan and then goes on to having them sing the Celtic Song in that very same episode gets 5 stars in my book!
  15. My first coaster was either Zipper Dipper or Circus Clown at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. I'm pretty sure I rode them both on the same trip in the late 80s. I remember riding Circus Clown but not Zipper Dipper but I have a photo of me riding Zipper Dipper so who knows which one was actually my first!
  16. Terra Mitica has always looked like an incredibly well themed park and is definitely a place I will visit someday but the thing that continuously puts visits to other places ahead of it for me is the coaster selection - an SLC and an RCCA woodie, it doesn't really scream "get here now and ride these things!". Hopefully the new Intamin ball coaster will get some good reports. I'm looking forward to hearing the reports on this place from the TPR Spain trip participants! Thanks for the photos Virdu!
  17. Was about to praise you for a nice trip report there until I read you bashing my country and countrymen! Well the feeling's more than mutual - hence the reason the Scottish nationalists will win the election here in a few weeks! Seriously though, I was going to visit Loudoun a few weeks ago but decided not to when I found out that Barnstormer wouldn't be ready. Will probably visit Loudoun in a couple of weeks since I still need to get the mouse and kiddie credits.
  18. Boo to the lack of photos of the Super Fun Happy Slides! Cool photos, I was pleasantly surprised by this place when Tom and I visited last September. It doesn't have much space but packs a fair bit into the space it does have and keeps up everything pretty well. The Crazy Train was another pleasant surprise there too quite a fun little ride. Even the roof top Pinfari wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. Tell me did all the coasters still make huge loud "clunk" sounds on the lift hills?
  19. The "New" Runaway Mine Train at M&Ds. For a family coaster it was shockingly rough and violent. It's the M&Ds way I guess. This used to be a spinning coaster, it was clear upon riding that trains like this were ever meant to be run on this track!
  20. Don't really watch anymore (was always more of a WCW fan) but I always catch WrestleMania. It was enjoyable enough this year, nothing spectacular. Think I'll try and get to WrestleMania next year seeing as it's in Orlando. I've attended two WWF/E PPVs in the past - Rebellion in Manchester in 2001 and 2002. It was actually reading Mick Foley's books that got me into the whole coaster enthusiast thing!
  21. Thanks for these photos! Looks like it'll be quite a fun little ride. When does it open? The trains look quite interesting too, I wish Vampire at Chessington had got new trains like those!
  22. Interesting reading. Does anyone know where I can find the 2005 figures? I was also surprised by no Walibi park in the Europe top 20. Also liked the little "Theme Park Review Approved" logo at the bottom of the Disk'O advert! Shows the weight TPRs name carries now!
  23. Sad to hear indeed.... Maybe BPB will get remove the Beaver Creek Log Flume and replace it with this new "attraction" which "uses parts" of the Funhouse but in reality looks exactly the same as the Southport Funhouse but is painted blue?
  24. The point with Splash Mountain is that it's an insanely popular ride in all three park's it's in. The fact that it's themed to Song of the South I think is inconsequential for the most part. Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain aren't tied to movies but are still incredibly popular. I'd imagine most of the kids who love Splash Mountain in the US don;t even know what Song of the South is. Doesn't stop them appreciating Splash Mountain though.
  25. I wouldn't say Song of the South is any less known in Europe than the US, it's even been released on video in quite a few countries this side of the Atlantic. But I know what you're saying, would just be good to get a Disney water ride in Paris, I think it would "complete" their Magic Kingdom. Wish I was going back in two weeks...
