^^ I'm terribly sorry to see the Rocket ride go; as a (young young) child it was one of my first attractions I went on at Canobie Lake- But progress is needed, but so sad for history. R.D.

We've had a few issues with some of the park downloads- be patient. Once all the entries are received into the Games Exchange, I'll be posting pics of each park, along with the park download. Voting begins on Wednsday- and will continue for ONE week. R. "I'm working to resolve the issues with the parks not downloading right" D. Games Forum Moderating Team

TPR's Official Australia Trip Update Thread!

1.) WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO SELL THE TPR TRAVEL PILLOWS?????? I'LL TAKE SIX... AND POSSIBLY 20 MORE! 2.) That wild mouse is looks a.) insane, b.) fast, c.) meticuliously maintained, and d.) Like it needs to be brought back here for us. 3.) Where's the obligitory Pizza shot? R.D. -
This reminds me of the 80s all over again. "The sum of two negatives eqals a positive." In this case, it's pretty much like what Franklin Lorenzo did to Continental and Eastern (And NYAIr, and Texas International, and Frontier, and PEOPLExpress and Britt and PBA) in the 80s- "We suck at what we do. Now let's merge and get SUCKIER." Nothing good will come of this- at all.

New Theme Park Near Nashville?
QueerRudie replied to Velo_editor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I somehow think this is going to end up as some form of tabloid TV in the future... It's almost (ALMOST!) worthy of Jerry Springer's attention- and almost as bogus as a group of Maury guests. But we've seen this plot before- and in some ways, it's almost EXACTLY Like it... Anyone remember PTL? Jim and Tammye Faye? Ft. Mill, SC? With the exception that there's no real 'religious' philosophy here- the plot, story, and financials are nearly identical- "A theme park with a studio and other resort features on it" - It's just like Ft. Mill all over again; I wonder how foolish the localities are if they go forward with ANY planning on it. -
Big Mike- I think the format is great- all around. It's interesting to see your world from your perspective! Not to mention- Bald me DO get all the chicks (Save me, but then again... that goes without saying) I'd not change anything about it myself- it works the way it is now. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Do you have any plans to come through Arizona this year? (Curiosity more than anything...) R.D.

^ sideline note to that: I heard from DMax yesterday- he's been very busy with work etc. but hopes to get back into the swing of things for RCT II etc. soon; I asked if he knew the origins of a lot of his stuff- but I've yet to hear back from him- -

Happy days- That's good stuff- I just updated the thread in the forum with a 'gentle reminder' of five days left- Six entries so far (Turned in/complete projects). Now if I could just find my brain- Has anybody seen it as of late? -
Rye Playland Discussion Thread
QueerRudie replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My thought on Rye's Playland... If Green Bay can do it, and other cities can do it, why can't they do it there? Hell, Green Bay is BUILDING a coaster to bring people to the city's parks. In all reality- I have to question how the park is such a liability unless they're not doing something right- such as pricing, etc. A coaster is a great gem to have, and yes, over the past few years the park has become a bit dated- but some TLC and some faith in the park might be a good thing... So long as they don't add a Pony Distress or a Volare. R.D. -
Legoland Florida Discussion Thread
QueerRudie replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That so does NOT look like the Cypress gardens I remember from long ago- it's amazing to see how much will be gutted and changed from the old to the new. (Why do I feel like this is an enlarged RCT II scenario???) R.D. -

Great- I just posted something in the last thread I read... grrrr... I never said I was FAST... DUHHHHH... -
Got it... Which actually brings me to another related, yet unrelated thought... I'd like to put an announcement out for the existing contest to encourage people to send in their entries; I've got a running list of entrants so far (Pulled their things from the exchange to do some 'photo work' for the final voting') but I'd really like to get something out there to remind people- we're five days out of the 'end' of this- and I sure don't want people to forget-

Have some Sanitorium Marmite for me... waaah! BTW: Got issue #4 today in the mail- YOU ROCK Robb!
-
Rats- Well- have a -great- trip, a safe voyage down there. Don't do anything I wouldn't do. (Side question: Will I get a copy of Club TPR magazine 4 soon? If not- Not a problem at all)
-
Well said o wise one... BTW: Who are you flying down under?

What about the booze??? I need gin to survive...

Continuing the thought- Perhaps we could tie this in as well to the contests (I.E. the current challenge)- I'm thinking that we could choose a 'starter' track for show the first time- something that truly wows us; and then let the users choose from there- just to kick start this. The idea with the tie-in is this: We're getting some (at least in my views) good traffic on the contest- I'd like to choose one coaster from the submissions (not necessarily the 'winner' of the contest per se, but perhaps something really interesting to tie this in- kind of a 'plussing' to the existing contest.

^ In all reality: If we're breaking things down- perhaps using the 'KISS' method might be best- My idea: For all games, no matter what: Tracks: Custom (User) designed, and Original (Game creator) designed Scenery: Custom (user) designed and Original (Game Creator) designed Rides: Ditto as above. It might be six categories- but in the end, people could go and choose without too much effort, I think. If we were to go beyond this, as you've mentioned, it might get very confusing to the members- not to mention somebody as dumb as I am- Just my .03 on it- R.D. -
MID WEEK UPDATE! One week down, another week to go- and I'm starting to see entries into the contest- five so far. You still have another FULL week to download the scenario, play the game, and show TPR what YOU do with RCT II. Here is the park: http://www.themeparkreview.com/game_exchange/track.php?id=1623 Once you're done- remember to upload the file IN THIS THREAD! There's a nifty key down below- "GAMES EXCHANGE" that can add your file right to this thread! Also- please post some pics- we'll need some of your park later. All parks should be submitted by MIDNIGHT, Sunday 27 March, 2011. Anybody beyond that point, well- We'd love to see what you've done- but you won't be eligble for the contest! And remember- You get 50 pts when you upload your completed park- and ONE winner will get a TPR BAG OF CRAP!!!!! R.D.
