Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread
QueerRudie replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Honestly, after reading half the complaints in this thread over the restraints, layouts, turns, drops, hills, colors, angle of the footers, and so on, I think that those people who are complaining up the wazoo about things should do us all a favor: Don't ride it. Don't go to HP because you've complained so much about it. Go to your park, and stay there. I hate to say this, but there is some point where it gets beyond silly to bitch and moan about the restraints, etc. If it isn't comfortable for you, don't ride it. Go find another attraction in the park. There are 11 other coasters at HP, and within four hours you have nearly 100. Leave SkyRush, and it's lap bar restraints, to those of us who aren't whining about how the potential lap bars are going to fit. Those of us who ARENT complaining about the ride will be HAPPY to take your places in line. -
The TPR Games Forum Moderators Random Thread

Sadly- the key member of AAT is Walter White- who was part of the RIT campaign for a while. They're mostly made up of ex-TPR people who are nothing but being childish over so many different things. Mind you, I've yet to set foot on that site- on principle alone. I know Chris Conrath (Keystone Thrills) is sick of them as well- and will not tolerate dealing with them; he had to remove one of his MODS from his site due to AAT... -

May cannot come NEARLY fast enough for my liking here... as every single picture update of the beautiful curves of HP's new baby gets better and better... now these shots make it that much sexier to see such a hot, warped mess SkyRush will be.... (And how thankful I am that I did the RIT campaign, too....) -
Chadster's Vacation Adventures: Final Edition!
QueerRudie replied to chadster's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Wow. G-E-T-O. There are many things I will try/enjoy while out enjoying this planet, however, I draw the line if the rides are assembled with glue, toothpicks and duct tape. Scary- but funny, too. -

Walt Disney World Epcot Discussion Thread
QueerRudie replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Much the same way I'm always amused at the abundance of "f the establishment" characters who feel the world should bend to their needs and desires? I suppose we could ride this never-ending carousel forever. To each his own. I'll just continue on my merry way of following the world's printed rules. It's all good. Hopefully those who feel scorned by Disney will visit Universal instead.....and lighten the crowd for me. Scott "Done." B. Yuuup. Even those of us who go around the system still end up following the rules: Even though I use the Handicrapped facilities at a park, I still have to use the same rules as everyone else. Usually this means getting a time to return, and then waiting like everyone else does- the difference is that I can sit down in between. What -really- pisses me off though are the ones who use this same system (much like the FastPass inobservant!) to basically not have to wait for a particular ride/show/attraction. On my last trip to Disney, it was astounding to me the number of families who had 'children who were learning disadvantaged' who needed to use the handicrapped lanes because "their child has ADD." BULL$&%T. I know how long it takes me to get around- I don't move all that quickly. But these mental geinuses are the same ones who hoard fastpasses like they're free, and then are the same ones who's child with ADD can't stand in a line. Give me a break. Unfortunately, the 'ADD' children will soon be flooding the handicrapped lines due to the 'enforcement' rules I'm afraid- and clogging things up the wazoo. People need to sit down, be more patient, and not try to work the system so they don't have to. In the end, everyone will be happier, the rides will move people quickly, and make things easier on us all. -
Eric's Dollywood Thread!
QueerRudie replied to ernierocker's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Awesome photo TR Eric. For me Craftsman's Valley is where people looked like something out of the living dead... chewing, chewing and more chewing. Everybody was eating! And with good reason too- the smell of the CInnamon bread filled the air. However, one should not overdose on that magnificent product before heading into the line for Tennessee Tornado! -
The Off-Season Survival Thread
QueerRudie replied to ernierocker's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You mean future profit centers for coaster whores needing a child to ride the kiddie coasters???? As for my winter: 1.) Began the process of relocating to Austell, GA (Yes, you know why. Pbbbbt.) 2.) Lost 18 lbs. of 60 planned. 3.) Found out four more reasons to go to WCB. 4.) Fantasized about SkyRush 5.) Fantasized about living 2mi. from Mindbender. Beyond that, been an empty winter really. Of course, my season starts in five days, so I can't complain, either! R.D. -
The "Preview" Thread

It looks like a stable. I'd really re-consider the whole design of it, as I keep expecting to see Mr. Ed pop out and ask "Seaaaaason Pass or Daaaaay ticket." -
What is your favorite launch coaster?
QueerRudie replied to EuroTre's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If you were to do that... You'd be riding the same one she did... LOL. -
What is your favorite launch coaster?
QueerRudie replied to EuroTre's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Come to the USA or Mexico: There's one in Buena Park, California (Montezooma's Revenge, a Flywheel model) as well as one in Mexico City (Cascabel, also a Flywheel Model; formerly Laser Loop from Kennywood Park.) In Brazil, at Hopi Hari, you have Katapul, formerly King Kobra from Kings Dominion, the very first Schwarzkopf Shuttle Loop- also the first weight-drop model) all in the West. You still have Shuttle Loop (Nagashima Spa Land) as well as Golden Loop (Gold Reef City). Yes, the breed is slowly leaving us for better pastures... but there are still two in storage, and two SBNO- for now. -
What is your favorite launch coaster?
QueerRudie replied to EuroTre's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
In the name of Anton, Amen. Is there ANY question here? There is but one perfect launch, that of a well-timed, well-tuned and silky smooth Schwarzkopf Shuttle Loop. Whether it be the steady, smooth rumble of a drop-weight model, or the pop-hiss whoosh of a Flywheel model, they never fail to impress, and are stellar examples of how to do it right- and do it right every time. Praise be to Anton, Amen. R.D. -
OK: Split the topic off, and sent it back to the forums. I think we might want to keep an eye on it- if there is anything funky going on. R.D.

The thing that's kind of got my 'angle' on this is that he's got a link to another RCT fansite in his banner- which doesn't break the TOS, but I was looking for further opinions on this- My thoughts are this: 1.) Is he trying to grab traffic potentially for his own site? 2.) Haven't we had issues with 'team' parks in the past never coming to fruition? 3.) Is the idea of a team park (yet again) going to work? R.D.

I think the kitty should get a name like Frank- as it would be appropriate that he'd be there, watching over his ride... -
Sunset Valley [RCT2]
QueerRudie replied to coasterbill's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Hi- The Hospital just called... You've killed 28 riders on your standup coaster. They all died of whiplash and snapped spines... The lawyers will be calling soon, too... (returning to reality for a second...) While the standup coaster looks good, I'd consider toning down some of the gyrations of the trains: RCT II is pretty lousy as a whole for doing B&M standups in- as they recycled the same elements from the other B&M coasters. However, this is where one needs a little bit of discipline & control when building a standup coaster. The urge to go wild is something one needs to restrict- especially considering your riders will be in pain- if not in the morgue. I'd consider re-thinking the layout a notch, to smooth it out, and eliminate some of the more 'intense' points on the track. Your riders will appreciate it, and with the level of realism you are trying for in this park, you'll have a better result in the end. R.D. -
Any clue if this is one of our former 'members' returning? Something's a wee-bit too professional about this. If I'm off- delete this, and return it to the forum, please. R.D.

Alton Towers Discussion Thread

I don't know what it is... but if it is anything like the real thing, I'm carrying an over-sized can of RAID to the park with me... -
And for those that have been on them, it sounds like even being the "poor man's Intamin Giga coasters" they are still some of the best coasters in the country. If I was local to SFMM, I would be thrilled with a Mega-Lite! AGREED COMPLETELY! If a MegaLite is a poor man's Giga, then never may I be rich! Back to the theories on this plot o' gold at MM: With all the water systems built into that area, I could see a new large-scale water ride/attraction built in there. It would make a logical choice all around- as this would give them a third water ride- which in the summer is always needed. Going along that theme, it would be wise to go with something higher in capacity, and along the current trends for building up larger rides. With technology that is now starting to grow rapidly, I could (against my 'better' judgements) say an Aquatrax would be a perfect fit: Thrilling water coaster which would be a 'first of it's kind' in the USA- and a true gem for a park to have. It would give SFMM a 'calling card' attraction, one that is family friendly and high capacity, and would be a terrific use of the water systems already built into that site.
