The ideas as set forth (read the first post!) are that the ride MUST be compact- as the park C.P.M. has bought is very short on space. Thrilling we can safely say is a must. However, with the constraints that were laid down, going TOO over the top might not be the best thing. Think Daemonen that's longer and a bit taller overall.

Due to the location of the ride, the transfer track is to the left in those pictures, next to the loading platform. -
For a NL challenge, you can use all the tools that come with NL plus Newton 2 as you need it. Cheating, however, is stealing somebody else's design, modifying it, and using it as your own. Same thing would be to build the ride in another editor beyond NL/Newton 2, and import it in. The ride MUST be built in NL/Newton. R.D. GFMT

NL Contest (Feb 2012) info: Trying something different with this one: Instead of having a 'public' vote, we are going to do the selection of the winner based upon percentage points. Basis of game: CPM has bought a bunch of rides, and now needs a small-scale B&M Looping coaster for his park. Due to cost and size constraints, CPM has a limited amount of space- and budget- to build his ride in. The limits of the challenge are as follows: 1.) Track length between 2600 and 3250 feet 2.) Height limit between 85 and 125 feet 3.) Compact design- no Out and Backs or free-form layouts. Ride may be inspired by existing park rides (I.E. Daemonen) but must have a unique layout. 4.) Ride MUST have at least two trains. Additional 'bonus' points for three trains without block stacking. 5.) Ride MUST be plausible: No curved lifts, no launches, no 'boosters' on the course. Gravity only 6.) Entrants may enter up to FOUR tracks each. Points breadown for scoring: 10% Colors/scenery 25% Layout 25% Originality of design 10% Use of Space 30% Desigining to B&M standards (OK: MAKE YOUR JOKES NOW PLEASE.) A total of 100 points will be used to score each track. Aggregate scores will be combined to create a final score. Start date: Immediate Finish date: 29 February 2012 Winner Announced: 5 March 2012 CPM will be posting this up ASAP.

OK: After some 'revisions' time to think: Welcome to Singapore. The thought is this: 1.) You connected in Atlanta, then Tokyo- Two of Delta's hubs. Since you can't get from ATL to SIN without NRT, it would be logical. 2.) The plane you were on was headed SE of Japan. You've just landed there, so welcome- and enjoy the shopping at Changi International airport. 3.) The pictures on the longhaul maps were of the mutliple films being shown, however, in Business Elite you had your choice of many different films- or to lay back and sleep for a nice long time. 4.) Universal is there. Nuff said. 5.) The earliest pictures in the thread were of your connections: See #1. 6.) Awesome Fries pic from the Transit lounge at Narita. 7.) The Love Boat could be a cross-reference to some of the small-market cruises one might take while there. 8.) The Flyer: Universal could use one!

What stuns me most of all is this: KECO had those fantastic 'original' plans used on Grizzly (KD) and Wilde Beast- both decent rides in most respects... and then the 'wussed' them up the wazoo for GA and for AW. Those original designs (Which, for the record, were almost identical to the originals, save for five extra feet in height, and the 'flush loading' platforms) were gems- and KD's Grizzly to me still is one of the better 'semi twisters' out there- and on a good day can really pack a whollop all around. It shows that there will always be an element of true stupidity in the theme park world.

Understood: It's not a 'smash' per se, but rather, when it comes to Schwarzkopf designs, I'm a wee bit picky. It's not meant as a slam- as that isn't my style at all! For everyone: Schwarzkopf coasters tend to be very refined, and it can be tough to do within the game's constraints. It has taken me years to refine how to do it right, and how to make it 'look' like He would have wanted it- so please don't take my comments on them as being de-facto criticism of the rides. It's the one area of RCT II I tend to do well, and it has taken a ton of practice to do so. R.D. GFMT -

So far, the Advertising Bowl has had good moments, bad moments and some that were just plain 'MEH' overall. Hopefully Madonna will make this one WORTH watching. -
1.) From previous "Where in the world are R&Es" they stick to Delta. 2.) The window position, size, height and framing are the same as the 777 series 3.) the "Herringbone" Business class seats are only on Delta within the USA, and on Air Canada, Cathay Pacific, Virgin Atlantic and Air New Zealand elsewhere. However, Virgin's seats are red, Cathay uses Green, AC uses grey/metal, and ANZ uses Black- thus Blue is Delta by default. 4.) The Herringbone seats are only currently on the 777-232 series systemwise, but the ER models have an additional feature to the seats- which is visible in the digital control panel behind there. 5.) The 777 only comes in one variety on Delta: the 200 model. They operate two different models: the 200ER (Extended Range) and the 200LR (Longer Range/WorldRanger) edition. The -X32 is the customer designator for Delta Air Lines (thus, 777-232ER/LR). However, The ER models are used in the Pacific Theater ops, while the LRs are used for Europe and the Middle Eastern Markets. Now you may -officially- call me an Airline Nerd.

In Schwarzkopf terms, however, it is inaccurate- across the board. Schwarzkopf did not employ multi-point angles for His rides- as they caused a lack of fluid-form motion. Instead, he'd modify the overall profile of the ride to fit the terrain, etc. instead of using multi-point curves. As for RCT, yes, there are 'exceptions' that need to be made, but I tend to hold Speedracers/Jumbo Jets in a different league altogether for the game. It's one of the few times you'll see me quoting accuracy over play. -
Good point, Nicole... And with the latest two clues: I'm going for either Cancun/Cozumel or Panama City, Panama: The terminal design is WAAAY too modern for most other airports in Mexico/Central America- and the design is entirely too clean to be Guatamala/La Aurora or Tegucigalpa/La Frontera airports. However, it IS clean enough to be Panama City/Blanco.

Revising my first 'collective' efforts: 1.) Heading to ATL to connect to the Afternoon departure bank to Europe... or the MIDDLE EAST 2.) Love Boat: It's a Cruise! 3.) Monorails: That's both Atlanta (Where you have to change terminals even if on a nonstop flight) 4.) The Queen: Piers will be joining them 5.) After the cruise: LA- where the Flyer Tatsu awaits at WCB. Since the Dubai departures are either mid-afternoon or Midnight, I'm calling out DUBAI/UAE is the destination, for a cruise in the Arabian peninsula.

Interesting layout and design. The scenery is very nicely done, and 'fits' the ride quite well- I picture seagulls around a lighthouse myself. If anything, there is only one 'hinkey' bit I'm seeing: After the first drop, you have a kinked 'rise' into the first camelback. That would not be too comfortable for the riders itself. I'd consider lowering the overall height of the camelback, and have it 'flow' a bit better for smoothness of design- but that's my view on it. R.D. GFMT -
OMG. I appologize for quoting just this, but for some reason I damn near fell out of my chair laughing when I read it. I visualized a scene from "Futurama" when I read these... (The 'Sardine episode:) MOM: "Well what DO you plan on doing with them?" Fry: "I'm going to share them with my friends on the only way a Sardine should be enjoyed: On a Pizza." MOM: "HOLY HELL! YOU'RE GOING TO EAT THEM?" At least the clone had PTC trains... as those Morgan pieces of crap need to go... sooner rather than later.

Currently, Memorial Day weekend is 'Grand Opening' as scheduled. The final date of opening has not been announced, but historically (Save for the Fahrenheit debacle...) Memorial Day opens the new coasters. Expect FULL coverage from HersheyPark by TPR that day- as there are quite a few of us heading up for the 'big party' (Some of us, well, more than others!) R.D. -
MCO, the Virgin Atlantic sign, the Monorail and the flying coaster: Virgin Atlantic flies to London Gatwick- where a Monorail links the rotunda terminal to the main terminal building Flying coaster: Alton Towers has the first Flyer My best guess (Without opening a PNR file...) You're heading to London/the UK to ride SWARM at Thorpe Park.
