  1. I really just want to wait and hear some actual conformation for this. Not sure how many of you remember the old Wild Rumors section on Thrillride, but I'm pretty sure that this would have made it's way on there. Maybe not whopper of the week material, but still pretty high up there. Overall I think the GCI part might have some truth to it, I'm still not 100% sold on wood so soon after the removal of Psyclone. The theming of the ride to Terminator however just really surprises me. As far as enclosing it inside a building I'm sure they could... With that said I think the chances of it happening are slim to none.
  2. Seeing Patrick Roy before the trade and Andy Moog in net just brought a huge smile to my face. Two of the best goalies of the 1990's and yet only one of them is remembered for being that great.
  3. He later agreed that there were only 6 deadly words, because "mother" in and of itself is not a dirty word. He will be missed, one of the funnier men out there and I wish I had gotten the chance to see him live.
  4. 2 more years and I'm done with school for a good while. Someday I'd like to go back and pick up a masters (or even the Ph.D) in History, but that will be a long time off for me.
  5. So you're the guy who I want to avoid during my career!
  6. ^Glad I was not the only one who got a laugh out of that comment!
  7. I do decent at Rainbow Road, however I still suck at the game in general.
  8. I think people really are short changing this ride before they have a chance to try it. While I agree that from pictures some of the effects look gimmicky, these are only pictures. I could look at 100 pictures of the first drop on Millennium Force and conclude that I know exactly what it is going to be like. Does that make my prediction true? No because I've never been on the ride and all I have is a guess of what the drop would feel like, I won't actually know what it feels like until I'm on that train. The same goes right now for X2, we can all look and say that the fire effect looks lame, and the onboard music system is too much, and that the ride hasn't improved a bit. However considering that most of us are concluding this from just looking at a handful of pictures, really all we have are predictions. Unless you were at media day yesterday, you're not going to know what the ride is actually like. I for one will wait to pass judgement until I actually have a ride and compare it to prior rides on the coaster before the remodeling.
  9. I finally got mine working (I didn't have my Wii online), my code is: 1547-6123-7236. As of this morning I've even added everyone.
  10. Just reading the facts that are out there about this accident, it really reads as though it should be a text book negligence case. I would be very shocked to see this case make it anywhere near trial, I'm sure Six Flags is going to want to settle and make this as painless as possible for themselves.
  11. I just bought the game today, but wont have a chance to try it until next week. I'll add my code at that time though!
  12. The loop was built in Germany for testing. The loop was then moved to Magic Mountain and the rest of the ride was built. Building rides at the factory is something that still goes on. The most recent examples that pop into my head is Hypersonic which ran for several years at the S&S factory, and a small portion of the 4D coaster at the Arrow factory. In a slightly unrelated question, does anybody know if that segment of the 4D coaster at the Arrow plant ended up being part of X, or is it still there?
  13. I actually disagree that Superman isn't family friendly, the ride has a low height requirement, and generally speaking, isn't so intense that the whole family can't ride it. I would love to see SFMM get a nice Intamin launched ride (Storm Runner style would be nice) but I just don't see that in the plans at this point in time.
  14. The problem with those rankings is that they are so subjective. A great school for one person might not be a great school for the next person. There simply is a lot that you must look at, beyond rankings, when you chose a school.
  15. I'd like to see that lake front area near that Batman theater get some love, however my guess is somewhere down the road that area is in for a major overhaul, where either the lake will get cleaned up or removed all together. I'd be happy to see them take out the Eagles Flight footers in the lake, but in all reality that's just me being overly picky.
  16. Some guy did that not too long ago at the San Francisco zoo... The lion (or was it a tiger?) killed the guy, but then the zoo keepers killed the animal. What I'm wondering is what the camel did to piss that guy off? Maybe it slept with the guys wife wife.
  17. You should be fine going next week, in all my years in school in CA I don't think I was ever out of school before the middle of June.
  18. Glad to hear that you're ok, as far as your question I really don't know what to tell you. If it were me however I'd be sure to check, and double check with a Dr before doing anything. All I'm reminded of here however is those warning signs that so many people ignore in front of the rides.
  19. I use an RSS feed for things such as sports scores and news, however I really don't think I would use it for a site like TPR. With a site like this it makes more sense just to come by and visit.
  20. I wonder if the guy working in the Dippin' Dots store is up on all the coaster rumors, or is that exclusively for the ones working inside parks?
  21. There does not seem like the train would be able to stop in case of a rollback. I've got faith in Intamin however, just because this is something that none of nus are really used to doesn't mean that it's a bad idea. That being said, it sure does seem strange that the ride wouldn't have anti-rollbacks as a precautionary measure.
  22. The coaster in question looks like Boomerang at Knott's Berry Farm before it got repainted. However I'm sure there are several other Boomerang models out there with the exact same color scheme.
  23. Crunchtime Criminal Law: Life saving help in the days before your exam... $27.99. The purchase of desperation!
  24. I'm not really sure the layout of this ride as good as some, and RCDB was not much of a help, but does the lift hill follow right after the station or is there some straight track separating the station from the lift? If there is some track between the station and the life I'd imagine it'd be like an accelerator coaster and there would be brake fins for such a rollback. Can somebody shed some light on this for me?
