Colossus is the only ride SFMM ever runs backwards (with the exception of Psyclone in 94) during Fright Fest. Though I've wondered about running Ninja backwards in the past. SFAW was able to do it with XLR-8 so I'm sure that it is possible Ninja could run backwards. I think the bigger question is, would Ninja be worth riding backwards.

House is the only show that I really ever take the time to follow. Generally I'm too busy to really have a set of shows I follow, so other then House it's basically whatever I can find on at the time.

I've got a fear of heights. I'm fine on coasters because I've got restraints keeping me from going anywhere, however when it comes to things like waterslides, I'll be watching from the side.

Eating and coasters
AllenA07 replied to JFrombaugh's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've got a weak stomach so eating can be a problem for me. I seldom can take more then 1 ride a time on a coaster and really spinny flat rides can cause problems. -
Photo TR: Vegas Star Trek Convention 2008
AllenA07 replied to cosmic hearse's topic in Random, Random, Random
I was at Vegas this past August and watched a bunch of Trekkies, in full costume of course, come up to the Ghostbar on the top of Palms. I'll admit that I thought they were really lame to be honest, but I was actually glad they came up there because it helped lose that "ultra hip" thing the Ghostbar had going on. -
When I was at UCLA I used to head down to the Santa Monica Pier and Third Street all the time, I love that area!

I'm doing an internship, not sure if that counts.

I think that after a loss like that Tampa is going to have a hard time getting back in it. Look at how the Dodgers played following game 4 of the NLCS, the Matt Stairs homerun broke that team. I wouldn't be surprised to see the same thing now with the Rays. The safe bet is going to still be Tampa, however if they can't win game 6, then I'm going with the Sox in game 7.

I've been a Dodger fan since I was about 7. Last night killed me, the team went out without any fight. I'm taking some solace right now however in the fact that the Dodgers have a very bright future.

Aliens are Coming to Alabama on October 14!
AllenA07 replied to Brandy524's topic in Random, Random, Random
"Blossom" must have gotten some bad press with this one. Yesterday I went to her site to see if she had posted a reason why they didn't show up. Today her site makes you sign up before you read. I'm glad there were no aliens, I'd be afraid of them using little blue beams of light to blow up most of the Earth... Besides, I just can't see President Bush getting into a fighter jet and helping to take care of the situation! -
I'm thinking about it and really like the idea of the park expanding out the Movie District, I think it could fit the ride very well. I also agree with what Eric said, the park does have way to many themed areas, and I don't think it would be such a terrible idea to combine some of the themed areas and get rid of some of more outdated ones.

Aliens are Coming to Alabama on October 14!

I've got my purple robe and Nikes on, all that's left is if the aliens are supplying the Kool-aid. -
^Is the park open until Midnight? I don't recall the park staying open that late, except for the Christian concert days when it runs until 1am. People can see a lot from the current construction pictures, i'm going to give it a lot more time before I even try to guess the layout. What I'm actually wondering right now is if that back area of the park is going to get a rethemed. Figure that the park has the Terminator concept to work with, and it doesn't seem like it'd be that hard to retheme Deja Vu (easy to retheme when there is no theme at all) to the whole Terminator theme. Psyclone Bay/Spillikin Corner (is that spelled right?) seems to be a very outdated theme especially with a coaster in the back of the area themed to Terminator.

AND THEN THERE WERE NONE - WEEK 6

^ I believe so. Wes seems to be getting more popular as time goes on in this competition! -
TPR has a dirty (collective) mind! However I'll admit to laughing at the protection comment.

^^I'll give it to you that you're not afraid of taking a risk.

AllenA07 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
1. I see all three videos. 2. I have IE7 running on Windows Vista 3. They all seemed to work nicely. 4. I'm looking very forward to this feature! -
Possible yes, pleasant no!

TPR TV Test - Please ignore

I've got IE 6 and I can only see the first video. -
I agree with Robb that the $5 for the wristband just isn't that big of deal. The same goes with the whole locker problem, whenever I go to a park and have a bunch of stuff I shell out the money in the morning and get a locker for the day, which is a non-issue and saves me that all important $1. Parking I do have problems with, however I'm not willing to blame Six Flags for that one. For some reason most venues have learned that they can charge huge amounts (some lots at Staples Center are $40 this year, makes $15 seem like a lot less) for parking and people will pay. I hate it, but it is something that we all just need to deal with. I said before that I wouldn't pay $5 for the mazes because I don't much care and would be generally happier with my $5. If however I really liked going through mazes and such, I wouldn't hesitate for an instant to shell out the $5. In other questions which rides are in "the dark" this year? If X is one of the rides that is running without any lights (and I wouldn't be surprised seeing how for many years they would run Viper without lights) do they still use the fire effect? I could see going from darkness to fire effect being unpleasantly blinding. Then again I've not been on X2 yet so I've really got no idea on how good/bad the effect has been implemented.

If anything the $5 will help with the lines a bit for people who really want to see the mazes. Would I pay $5 for the mazes? Not a chance! However with that said, I'm not really one for mazes, and didn't actually go through them for the first time until I was working in Entertainment and got the opportunity to bypass the lines. I think the $5 plan in the end is a good idea and really will not break the bank for people coming to the park.
