It'll be interesting to see this when completed, however I'll admit that I'm rather cynical about this move by the park. I don't recall their European expansion going that well, and the fact that the company is already having some serious financial woes right now, I question if this is the time for risk taking. 2012... I'm really wondering if we'll see this park by that point, or if it is going to take considerably longer to actually get it moving.

I've got a Criminal Procedure final today... I've been studying since the middle of October, and yet I still don't feel prepared.

I've never done this before, but it's really bugging me, it's "Oh" not "Ow." Unless the Title fairy is actually hurting you, it's never "ow."

If the world was ending that's what I bet I'd be doing as well.

Robb Alvey's 30 Pounds in 30 Days - 2008!
AllenA07 replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
Robb are you by chance using the WiiFit board on carpet? I've read that can lead to some strange results. If you are you could always try adding the feet extensions or better yet move it so somewhere in your place that has hard floor. As far as I've been able to tell the Wii has pretty good range (I find myself running around my apartment rather then running in place, and I've never had a range issue) so you could try moving into another. -
The more I think about this the more I really like the idea of SFMM doing something for New Years. As a teenager who grew up in Santa Clarita most of the time I sat at home and watched the ball drop on TV. This gives a great option for people who don't want to leave the valley, plus the lack of alcohol (in the park) should be appealing for parents of local teens. I'm hoping somebody on here goes and checks it out, I'd love to see pictures of how they pull this event off! And I agree about poor wording on the website, infamous isn't the best word to use to describe something in the park. However that is more a slightly amusing use of words then anything else.

Everybody seems so disappointed the rides close at midnight, but I'd actually be more shocked if they remained open. I think most people are going to want to get out of the park as soon as midnight comes. The park likely doesn't see any real profitability running beyond midnight. Jahan hit on a good point as well. Figure a lot of people are going to spend the entire day in the park, they're going to be very ready to leave as soon as the fireworks go off. I've never been to a park on New Year's Eve, however I have been on the Las Vegas strip (which I'm going again this year) as well as in Time Square at midnight. Both times my ideas of going out and partying and having a good time afterwards were killed by the exhaustion. Most people at the park after 12 are going to be so tired that they are going to want to get home to bed as quickly as possible.

Thomas has been great, I agree that he has looked decent in the past but really seems to be turning into an elite player this year. I am wondering with a new GM for the Leafs if they make an attempt to bring Sundin back. My guess right now is no, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Burke is going to do a good job there, I'm sure that is his dream job and I'm guessing he'll do everything possible to bring a cup to the Leafs.

Motivated by the NBA thread I thought I would bring this one back to life. Not sure how many of you out there are watching, but how are your favorite teams doing? In LA things are finally starting to look up. I don't think the team is going to make the playoffs this year, but next year should be a good year for them. They've shown tremendous improvement on defense this year, and as soon as the situation in goal is figured out I think things are bound to get a lot better.

Vote for Theme Park Review!

Seeing as this is the only coaster site I visit anymore, I'll give it my vote. -
Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride

I figured the Spillikin name wouldn't end up returning, as it has not been around in a very long time. I only ever referred to the area as Spillikin corner because that's what my parents called it when I was a little kid. I really hope this coaster breaths some much needed life into that part of the park! -

Is the park still referring to that back area as Cyclone Bay, or has it reverted back to Spillikin (is my spelling right?) corner? -
Does TPR seem to be getting a little up tight?

I wonder if posting here and being forced to use decent grammar helps any of the younger members in school. If so, that would really be great, it shocks me how many people lack the ability to communicate in any meaningful way through writing. Though I'll admit, when Robb or the mods come down on me for writing in passive voice, I'm going to leave TPR. -
Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride

My guess is that Deja Vu is going to basically be down until Terminator is ready to open. I'd expect to basically be an extended rehab this year while construction continues in that area. I'm still personally hoping for a rethemeing of Deja Vu. With a bit of paint, and a new sign you could easily make this ride fit in with a general future/Terminator theme. I don't think it'll end up happening but it's a nice thought. Main point of this entire post is that I wouldn't expect Deja Vu to be open in January. -

Great post, my High School used to have a Renaissance Day once a year where the same group of roughly 15 people would dress up and get made fun of for the duration of the day. Those were some good times. BTW: Did anybody here see the movie Role Models, because that is all I could think about while reading this post. -
What I more imagine this is actually going to be is something along the lines of Six Flags teaming up with a place like Supercuts. You'd basically have Supercuts, but with a roller coaster theme.

I love that grammar and spelling is enforced here. It makes the site so much easier to read, and a lot less sloppy looking. I've been to several sites where there is basically no rules regarding grammar, and at times it can actually be very difficult to even figure out what the poster is trying to say. If you're old enough to post on a message board, you need to be conducting yourself in a manner that conforms with the rules of those boards. -
I paid $1.58 a gallon yesterday. I've got to think that the fall in prices has to stop soon, I can't imagine we're going to see prices much lower then they are now.

I wonder why Six Flags thinks this would be a good idea? Maybe to show their shareholders that they're still expanding and trying to move forward with new innovative ideas? Personally I wonder if 1) this idea will ever see the light of day; and 2) if these do see some life, do they have any reasonable hope of actually working. Personally as somebody who has thought about buying some Six Flags stock this decision makes me nervous that the chain really doesn't know what they're doing.

Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride

Funny thing is I thought the coasters name was Terminator Salvation all along. Shows how much attention I'm paying. -
I was going to post the anti-Disney thread, but it beat me here. Glad to see it was included though!
