  1. Revolution does have very high OTSR, I think it's a result of them being added to the train after the fact, those trains are not really designed to have them, or headrests for that matter.
  2. I'm a big fan of the LA sports teams (UCLA for the college sports) so I watch those a lot when I have time. Other then that I enjoy reading (Currently working through both the Jack Ryan Series and the Bourne series), studying early American History. Geez I sound like a great time don't I!
  3. From what I have read Imperial Palace is going to be removed at the same time as either Harris or Flamingo, because the property by itself isn't big enough for a resort. In regards to Tropicana that hotel has some extensive remodel plans right now, that should leave it looking very nice, provided that it actually takes place. This link will take you to some of the renderings of what Tropicana is set to look like upon completion. http://www.vegastodayandtomorrow.com/tropicana.htm
  4. ^I agree that Revolution has one of the most forceful vertical loops out there, however at the same time lap bars and OTSR's are not needed. The lap bars are likely only there now because they were there to begin with and there was no real reason to take them off. While I strongly doubt that Revolution will ever run without the OTSR system again, the ride is in desperate need of a new train with some more comfortable restraints.
  5. Typically yes, however there have been a handful of carnival style rides where I really questioned my decision to ride.
  6. I make it a point to be sure that the park is going to be open if I plan on going any distance. As far as discrimination unless the park has "white's only" day or "Men's only day" then there isn't going to be any discrimination.
  7. I should have filled out the TPR bracket. I had picked all the number 1 seeds in the final four (though Davidson had done a nice job of making sure my Bracket would be wrong from the beginning), however I had UNC and UCLA in the title game, so I missed the ball right there.
  8. One of these day's I'll join the cool kids and get myself a Wii. I've decided that when I next see one in stock I'll pick it up, so far it has been two months and I've yet to see one.
  9. I wish SFMM would stop being done with Intamin! Now that new people are in charge I'm actually very interested in seeing if Intamin returns to the park.
  10. I'm going to give my vote to Psyclone, however there needs to be mention of Manhattan Express and Grizzly at PGA.
  11. I can't see how you can possibly compare Deja Vu and Wicked Twister, as they are not even close to being comparable rides. Superman in my opinion is almost (still a huge stretch) closer to Wicked Twister than Deja Vu. I really don't think there is any point in attempt the comparisons between the parks, both parks really offer different rides. I've never been a fan of the SFMM v. CP wars, the parks are separated by 2,000 miles (give or take a few) and are not now nor will they ever be in any meaningful competition with each other. When Cedar Fair purchased Knott's I was at that point thinking that they would attempt to turn Knott's into Cedar Point West in order to compete with SFMM, however to date this has not yet happened.
  12. I'm really thinking the park is going to go the B&M flyer route. They're popular rides, and promise both high capacity and high guest satisfaction.
  13. While the ride looks to be in decent shape considering, I can't only imagine how much damage there has been to the foundation from all the tree roots growing underneath.
  14. That are looks so empty without Hypersonic. Sad to see the christmas tree lights standing there without the ride.
  15. I was dissapointed not to get this credit when I was at SFOT, it looked like a decently fun ride. Glad to hear though that they've got it just about ready to reopen.
  16. Glad to see I'm not the only cool person on hear who read The Beast. It was like Goosebumps, but with a roller coaster. Imagine my shock years later to discover that The Beast was indeed a real ride. Jahan, as always, great trip report.
  17. As far as the tunnels go I think that we won't have an answer either way until the ride opens. If the park is using the "tent" concept, there is a good chance that those tunnels could be installed rather quickly. If the ride is set to reopen memorial day weekend, that still gives them roughly two months to wrap it up.
  18. ^ I can relate to that, I don't currently live near any major parks, but I enjoy just looking at the design of the structures. They are really impressive looking!
  19. ^I wouldn't go that far, I think it's just one of those things that happens.
  20. I encourage you all to go find the video, which really rounds this one out as a dumb post.
  21. Those pictures remind me of the show Life After Humans from a few months back.
  22. 18 our of 20. Should have be 19/20 but I had a mis-clicked in there on the Disneyland question.
  23. If you try to do hit 90 degrees half way through the slide I'd imagine you'd have to have a long transition into it in order to keep people from being ejected.
  24. $109 on a cell phone bill. Ouch.
  25. I waited for almost 3 hours for a ride on Riddlers Revenge, I think that's the longest I've spent in a line. ^The ride was broke down twice for 15-20 minutes or so at a time, which is what made the wait so long.
