  1. I'm sorry, I can't hear all you over me drinking a delicious Pepsi Throwback. Call me when your precious Coke stops using corn syrup.
  2. Return trips --- Six Flags Great America (X-Flight! I missed you, SFGAm. Looking forward to seeing what you've become since I grew up and left Gurnee) First time trips --- Six Flags Fiesta Texas (Woo hoo SKC!) Schlitterbahn - New Braufels (omg omg omg omg omg) Six Flags Magic Mountain (OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG ) I may sneak a trip to Adventureland (Iowa) in there if I can. Such a nice little park.
  3. Wood: SFGAm is my childhood park, and this is where most of my fondest memories lie. That, and I have yet to board a GCI or Intamin Plug-and-Play, either of which will probably immediately change this. Steel: Good golly, Miss Molly. I only rode this once (boyfriend blacked out and wouldn't do it again), but I came back into the station proclaiming "BEST. COASTER. EVER."
  4. I wonder if it was the same crew that was running Flight of Fear when I went this summer, because they did the same thing when I rode that. First and only time in my life that's happened to me on an amusement park ride, coaster or otherwise.
  5. Little Miss Sunshine and The Lion King.
  6. Firstly it isn't a ridiculous statement, and from the evidence I see Thorpe should be angry, I would if I was one of the Thorpe team, because I know for one Thorpe really wanted to create something unique in the world and so they created what will probably be an awesome first drop, and now they have been denied this. I think people should hold B&M responsible for this. They are too similar for my liking: they both start off with the same drop, both then have a zero g roll, X Flight has an Immelman and Swarm has an incline, they both then have a corkscrew/zero g type inversion and then an inline twist. Both are about 120 ft. Six Flags Great America asked B&M for a coaster and it seems B&M took Swarm, changed it ever so slightly and gave it to Great America for what: $5-8 million dollars less for a slightly longer coaster (I know theming and lanscaping etc. may make up for some of this). FInally I wish people would stop commenting on how forceless Raptor is, I ever since riding it have been a massive Raptor fan, and I can tell you it is pretty forceful (not on a scale of Nemesis, but significantly more than Air). Raptor is not designed to be forceful, it is designed to be well themed, well paced and unique riding coaster. All of which it superceeds in. As has already been said, X-Flight is an entirely different coaster after the first two inversions. It's not something ever-so-slightly the same as The Swarm. It's also not like this affects Thorpe Park dramatically enough for them to do something like this. They're still the only ride in Europe with that kind of element. What do they care what we're doing across the pond? It's not going to affect their attendance and the lines are still going to be massive for Swarm, just like they will be for X-Flight and Wild Eagle. This is like if CP had complained to Intamin after SFGAdv announced Kingda Ka in 2004, and that actually WAS a case of "we just wanted ours to be more famous than yours".
  7. Long break runs on Intamins are not new. Long break runs on B&Ms most definitely are.... especially when they're a good 50-100 ft in the air.
  8. Dear Thorpe Park, NO ONE is going to call it the "Thorpe Park Inversion" and this little backhanded hissy fit of yours is incredibly immature. Have faith in your ride. Remember your first drop dive goes under a downed airplane. Does SFGAm do that? No, so stop it.
  9. Did I miss when Thorpe Park put out the track design for The Swarm? Because I'm still waiting for that layout. And by "all the ones previously created", you mean Raptor, right?
  10. 1: Blue Streak, Paramount's Great America (now Woodstock Express) - 1991 5: Viper, Six Flags Great America - 1995 10: Spacely's Sprocket Rockets, Six Flags Great America - 1998 25: Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Cedar Point - 2003 50: Apollo's Chariot, Busch Gardens Williamsburg - 2011 75: Renegade, Valleyfair! - 2012
  11. Adventureland (IA) Busch Gardens Williamsburg Kings Dominion First time at all of them. First time at a theme park in six years. Great, great summer
  12. Considering Dreamworld did this eons ago, you have to wonder what took them so long to finally realize what has been right in front of them for 15 years. Looks insane.
  13. Demon (Six Flags Great America) I was deathly afraid of roller coasters. My father said he'd give me five bucks just to ride it once. I never looked back.
  14. Pinkie Pie from "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" shopped to look like Nyan Cat. Now that I think about it, are ponies verboten here cuz of the whole donkey thing? Cuz that's not gonna be good for me if so.
  15. Afraid of overbanking? Have you looked at the renderings of Leviathan? Yeah, I'm apparently blind to the turnaround, but I watched the POV again and that's the only one... then again, Intimidator 305 has no overbanks and that's like experiencing nirvana, so I'm just gonna shut up.
  16. 1. Initmidator 305 2. Millennium Force 3. Apollo's Chariot 4. Incredible Hulk 5. Griffon 6. Raging Bull 7. Rock 'n Roller Coaster (WDW-DHS) 8. Batman: The Ride (SFGAm) 9. Volcano: The Blast Coaster 10. Expedition Everest
  17. Hurler@PKD. It made Grizzly at the same park seem downright tolerable.
  18. Nitro, definitely. Six Flags needs to spread that one around.
  19. SFDK wins for biggest out-of-nowhere surprise. It's like Premier took the Maurer Skyloop and decided "yeah, we can do this better". That final non-inverted loop could be heaven or hell. Also, SFGAm. Great and long-awaited marquee addition and the only one I'm actually expecting to ride next year. Dollywood and BGW have yet to fully take the covers off their projects though, so it doesn't seem fair to rate them yet. And Leviathan... is it wrong to be underwhelmed? I dunno, I just expected more of B&M's first Giga. Why are they so afraid of overbanking?
  20. I read "Skyloop" before going to work this morning, and though "meh Maurer", then I see THIS, and I'm just like... whoa.
  21. Only been on Dominator, so I'll say Dominator Has someone told B&M that the Midwest is utterly devoid of their leg-swallowing loopy goodness? It's not fair living 1000 miles on either side of the country from one!
  22. I haven't been to SFGAm in six years. Next year, I'm getting a season pass. Thank you, Six Flags
