  1. But isn't the chain for X2 the same as any other list chain?
  2. If there's anyone on Facebook talking about Vekoma and Arrow, they're not GP.
  3. Many parks have coasters in need of paint. Does anyone know how much it costs to paint a coaster? I imagine it's pretty expensive.
  4. After a while there is no fun in a 5+ minute lift hill. Especially one going that slowly.
  5. Do you think it random chance that the SoCal parks that keep their rides up & running best of any have over 1,000,000 Annual Passholders while SFMM struggles to pull in more than 10,000 total on a non-summer day, yet those parks are much more expensive than SFMM? People know where to expect quality and where not to. Those who don't yet quickly learn. SFMM has some problems, but what park doesn't? I have heard that people from SFMM go to a hardware store to buy the flowers for the park instead of having a nursery like many other parks.
  6. I'm not a Doctor Who fan at all, so I know nothing about it, and with that being said, I'm not alone. There would have to be some kind of set up before the ride. It seems like it's possible, but could be a difficult task to accomplish.
  7. MindBender at SFOG- So after riding a few times, I start walking down the exit ramp and this dad in front of me started telling his little girl about how the MindBender goes as fast as the big coasters. I assume he was talking about hyper coasters. I don't know if he was just lying to try to get her to go on something like Goliath with him or if he was just being GPish.
  8. I find it odd that I go to parks 20 times a year or so, and I have never experience or anything like a breakdown. Maybe some of you guys should come with me next time.
  9. That 2 for 1 Coke machine is really cool. And the strangest vending machines can be found in Japan. There is one vending machine for every 26 people over there, and they don't just sell soda and chips.
  10. A lot of people are saying they like the Manta trains and I just don't see it. The sting ray look doesn't really belong on the front of a train.
  11. I found this screen shot when I was sifting though some old pictures on my computer. It's a pic of the "Who is online" area at the bottom of the KI thread when Banshee was announced.
  12. Darien Lake could keep the "Ride of Steel" name, but give it a new paint job that isn't red and blue! Yes. That's an option. Changing the name is the easy and inexpensive part. Painting it is going to cost a lot more. Does anyone know about how much it costs to paint a ride?
  13. I would say that an Alpine coaster is just as disruptive as a group of wild animals. Cars go by quickly and without a disturbing amount of noise. Tracks can be hidden from the public and private residences behind a berm or in a ditch so it doesn't look like there's a ride running through you're backyard. Beaver Creek is a nice place, and an Alpine coaster will do nothing but add to the beauty and luxury.
  14. I know this is happening in China, but what is making everyone think this is going to be a knock off?
  15. It could also use a NAME that isn't a reference. But you kind of have to repaint it if you're going to rename it because some people will look at red track and blue supports and think "Superman" regardless of the name. A generic name and theme like Skyrush or Great Bear is better because you can rename it and keep the colors and it's a "totally new ride" from a marketing perspective.
  16. Try riding Acrophobia at SFOG. It'll give you a good scare once it tilts. I'm not afraid of drop towers, and it scared me on my first ride! The tilt is the worst. Without it it's just an average drop tower; manageable.
  17. I went to Dorney Park over the summer. I didn't get a chance to go on Talon, but I should have. Hydra was a pretty OK ride, the JoJo roll coming right out of the station was probably the best part. Steel Force was kind of good, but nothing to really talk about. The park wanted a hyper coaster for the sake of a hyper coaster, and that's the extent of what they got. Possessed was a good ride.
  18. No I would think that the sensors on the lap bar would trip and tell the attendant that the restraint is not closed enough. I am thoroughly convinced that the seat belts on Goliath are in place only for covering Six Flags should anything happen.
  19. I just want to say that I just used the multi image uploader today and it's pretty good. It's something that has been needed for a while. I also like being able to add captions and see the photos after I've uploaded them. Great job guys!
  20. ^ I'm really hoping that NL1 users can upgrade for free. I pulled this off of the website under the FAQ section.
  21. Speaking of NL2; when is that supposed to come out?
  22. My absolute, all time favorite is Mindbender at SFOG. I'm surprised this thread hasn't gotten more replies, it's been around since 2005 and it's a topic that I would imagine everyone posting to the site would have an opinion on.
