  1. Wow I really like all this old postcard stuff. It's really amazing how far the park has come in the 40-something years it's been around.
  2. I got some of the same pictures today!
  3. It is included with admission. It's going to be included.
  4. DDD has a MCBR but it still has kind of low capacity. It would be nice if they would unload the car that's in the station behind the car being loaded simultaneously; that would greatly imncrease capacity.
  5. ^ A resort and mall was in the origional plans along with the park as like a city center type of place. But the plans never fully materialized after the park was built and it has just stayed a park.
  6. ^ I know of some other steel coasters in the park that could really be smoother...
  7. ^ Has there ever been a backwards hyper coaster?
  8. Intimidator at Carowinds! The track looks so close together when it's dark (mid section of the ride) and it feels like you're flying (not just airtime) when you sit in the back.
  9. Another coaster, especially launched, would be absolutely amazing. I would also like to point out that Skull Island is a full and complete water park on its own. It's not like it's in need of an expansion because it's too small to be considered a water-based attraction area.
  10. Yes. More evidence that the GP is generally stupid.
  11. Actually, I went on the magic seat on Ninja just a few weeks ago and it was -all right-. Let me put it this way; I was entertaining the idea of getting back on it for one more ride.
  12. I was going to say you might just be a coaster nerd if you know the Carowinds theme song by heart. Which I do, so...
  13. I see what you're getting at, but they don't have to completely occupy the space. Sure it would be a better use of space if they did, but they don't have to.
  14. Yeah calling a roller coaster "Roller Coaster" is far more classy and is 1900's. I love it.
  15. I had a similar thing happen to me on Goliath at SFOG. I usually grip the corner of the restraint and give it a tug and let it go and it will come within a few clicks of my waste so I can slowly tighten it the rest of the way. But the restraint for the seat I was sitting in this time had a return spring that was either broken or missing. (This is the spring that allows the restraint to come up slowly when the restraints are released, they also provide resistance when pulling it down, which I was banking on) So, when I pulled on the restraint, it came slamming down onto my legs and it stayed there. I suppose there is a bright side, though, because it did help keep a lot of blood in the top of my body during the helix. I usually grey out there.
  16. I would not recommend a Flash Pass at all if you're going in the middle of the week in the summer, or Easter. (Shoot for Easter for sure). Otherwise, if it's a weekend in the summer or any time during the school year (only open on weekends), I would say a gold pass would be pretty good. I usually like to ride multiple times if there's no line to reduce the amount of time I'm walking around and increase the amount of time I'm riding. My other advice would be to get into the park as soon as it opens and head for DDD first. If that goes quick, go to Superman. Those will have pretty sizable lines all day, even right before they close. Goliath could be hit or miss on a crowded day. Sometimes it's a pretty short wait, other times it's got a jammed queue. Mindbender is probably the single best ride in the park, but there usually isn't much of a line for it. If there is, come back in an hour or two and it should be down to a walk-on. It's kind of strange.
  17. That ACE plaque is definitely going to be a contributing factor when the park decides if it's going to have it removed or not. Maybe something good will come next Thursday.
  18. They will see to it that you wait on the break run plenty long.
  19. You ARE a coaster nerd if you count credits.
  20. Mine was the Dahlongela Mine Train at SFOG. Good times.
  21. Does SFOT know they're catching this much hell? It would be a shame to see the same thing happen in future years.
  22. ^ That makes a lot of sense, but the other thing is that water rides are seasonal, more so than a coaster. DDD has paid of hugely for SFOG and another new coaster would really make sense.
  23. I was looking to do something similar, but from Atlanta. It's only $400 round trip from Atlanta to Cleveland, which seems reasonable.
