Does Tatsu's dual-load station count for a 5th block? Always wondered about that... Excellent question, and I would say yes. -

From here, I suppose, "we'll see when they announce it." -
Carowinds Discussion Thread

Now hold up, haven't they done something like this in the past where they set up survey markers and let the public have a field day with it? Still, I would like to see something new there... -
Ok so the lines weren't too bad today, and that's what I expected on a Tuesday. I saw 3 guys working on Rolling Thunder, but I couldn't see if they were working on track or railing or what. I also saw another Club TPR member there with his black TPR shirt on coming out of the Golden Kingdom area, but I didn't say hi. I should have.

1980 Six Flags Over Georgia pictures

^ That could be going to a ride entrance, exit, or something of the sort. That is where Gotham City is today, it was called "Jolly Roger's Island" at the time with a pirate theme. -
Help me identify this antique woodie!

I don't think it is a coaster. I have seen plenty of pictures of side-friction coasters and usually they have a lot more support and the bottom isn't as covered. It looks so covered that I would venture to say it's some kind of water ride or maybe like a go kart type of ride with maybe some bobsleds or such, they didn't have go karts back then like we do now. -
Cool Sounding Rides
Aceattack52 replied to GoBears's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've always liked the B&M roar, and the Schwarzkopf chain lifts, specifically, Mindbender. -
^^ Good question, and no, I don't think there is a fully wooden looping wooden coaster. I'm not sure if it's possible to use just wood for the kind of support a track that inverts calls for. I suppose if the inverting element was under another part of the ride where it could use its own supports as well as the supports for that other part of the ride, it could work. There are a lot of variables that come into play with wood that we don't see with steel.

2012 Theme Park Attendance Report
Aceattack52 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I was listening to TSP about a year ago and they were talking about how theme parks were beginning to report pretty strong numbers considering that we were (and still are) in a recession and that because of this, we can conclude that the economy will be getting stronger soon. It turned out to be true a year later. -
^ I have to use the Vekoma Magic Seat just to be able to ride Ninja.

They have something similar at Carowinds although I don't think it was as bad.

^ I don't know Thorpe park that well, but transportation to the park by other means than car is important in all the other parks I've been to. -
Rich parents skipping lines at Disney!
Aceattack52 replied to GrapesLie's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
So now, for Disney to prevent this from happening in the future, will guests visiting the park with a disabled family member or friend have to provide so sort of ID to link them to the friends or family? That seems like it would resolve the issue since these people are hiring disabled people that are outside their family or friends. -
I've heard them ask everyone to take off their seat belts before getting into the station on After Burn (Formerly Flight Deck) at Carowinds. I suppose if it can be done on one ride, it can be done on any other, permitting, of course, that the rides are set up the same. If a ride is too different from the rides where you can take your seat belt off before getting back into the station, it may not be ok to take your seat belt off before getting back into the station.

I've had experience going to the park when heavy rain was predicted and it was amazing! Until it started to rain.
