  1. Why were they so heavy? I can't imagine there's really much room to add weight.
  2. That's interesting. Is there a picture of that anywhere?
  3. That's a whole lot more supports than I thought there was going to be!
  4. I would be scared significantly if a cable broke on any kind of ride. Launched coaster, drop tower, ect.
  5. It's probably not going to be much. A banner and maybe a mention of it on the park maps. 50 is a big year, though...
  6. Wow I can't believe they used TPR's footage. That's not cool if they didn't talk to Robb first. I came to this thread because I though this was going to be about advertisements placed on the sides of a roller coaster lift so that people can be viewing the ads as they go up the lift. That would be a really cool idea, not to mention MEMORABLE. But this seems like such a good idea that there has to be some place where the park has placed ads going up the side of the lift hill.
  7. ^ Yes, but I'm not really sure what you're getting at.
  8. Fixed. Lol. Have the Intamin woodies had any significant downtime issues? Not trying to be funny, asking a serious question. When I went in 2011, It was down for about 10-15 minutes. Even though it's a wooden coaster, it's still made by Intamin, and Intamin rides have had a long history of a lot of UPTIME.
  9. ^ You would actually be surprised by how many people like Ninja. I'm not defending it in any way, but if they said it was being removed, all the fans of that ride would come out and it would be a huge monstrosity. I too am in favor of removing it. That's plenty of space over the water and around the back of GASM for a new coaster.
  10. Revenge of the Mummy, Universal Orlando.
  11. ^^^ Wow I came to this tread specifically for the purpose of mentioning the El Loco trains. You beat me to it.
  12. I like the cars and the logo. They look good.
  13. Hmmmmm this looks like it can go a lot of different ways. But I doubt a new coaster is going in there. It looks like it's too far away from the park to be land needed for a new coaster. Unless it's some mega huge, monster coaster that really does take up that much space. In that case I think we would defiantly be looking at a length record.
  14. ^ I think the new 300+ foot coaster that's rumored to be for Carowinds is probably going to be an Intamin based on their experience in that niche of the market. Good things are still to come in terms of Cedar Fair and Intamin.
  15. ^ Skyrush was manufactured in Europe, was it not?
  16. Awww I wish they would post more construction updates on the Twitter page!
  17. After seeing those Christmas light pictures, I really wish my home park had a Christmas thing.
  18. I really liked Revenge of the Mummy at Universal (Orlando).
  19. I really like Pibb Xtra. It's a southern thing.
  20. ^ That looks like a ton of fun! 2 hours is going to be fantastic- and at night too!
  21. ^ Wow, I was going to say exactly the same thing. This makes me kind of nervous. The GP really does need to have a good sense of judgement when going to theme parks!
  22. But see, that's the thing. Someone else said that they fixed the reliability issues, but I'm still skeptical.
  23. ^ well sure, but they have some genuine B&Ms there, too.
  24. ^ I thought that $3 for a 16.9oz bottle of Dasani water in the Disney parks was bad!
