  1. Is AnacOnda going to post something, or should someone else go?
  2. Does anybody have any idea approximately how much one of these things costs? I wouldn't hate if it sort of became the new Vekoma Boomerang so to speak.
  3. Oh, haha, awesome! I'd LOVE to ride one of those bad boys (or see one built in the states!) Okay, here's a pretty easy one.
  4. I've often thought a compact custom B&M invert would be awesome right there.
  5. If I remember correctly, the Grand Texas people have said pretty fastidiously that they will be saving as many trees as possible so that the park will remain very wooded.
  6. Eek.... I don't know what I'm looking at.... Lol. Is it a screwy attempt at Renegade?
  7. I'm having heart palpitations.... as a major flumophile, this is like serious porn for me Does anyone know who the manufacturer was? Have any cost figures been mentioned anywhere?
  8. I can't agree more with the original poster. The shooting or interactive aspect of shooting/interactive dark rides does literally nothing for me. I'm not saying that parks shouldn't include them and I understand why others like them but they hold zero appeal for me and I vastly prefer a traditional dark ride.
  9. Great report! However, I've got to disagree with you.... while they're both great Zoos, I think the Houston Zoo is significantly better that the San Antonio Zoo. I'm wondering if you've been in recent years since they've completed all kinds of refurbishments? Anyway, we've all got opinions Looking forward to your SFFT coverage.
  10. ^This is really similar to how I felt about them as well. From as early as I can remember, I was just obsessed with them. Even before I was big enough to ride them, and even a little later on when I was still a little too scared to ride them, I was just obsessed with them. When we would go to my home park (AstroWorld R.I P.) I wouldn't be able to take my eyes off of them. And any time I saw a roller coaster on TV or a picture of one in a magazine or something, it was like porn to me. I couldn't get enough of it. I would draw pictures of them and talk about them constantly. My parents thought it was weird. Lol. It sounds strange, but it's almost like I was born with some innate attraction to them.... I can almost liken it to being born gay (if that makes any sense.)
  11. Sorry, just wondering... what on Earth does "coherence of the layout" mean?
  12. I know I might be crucified for this, but I sort of almost kind of ever-so-slightly....... didn't really like El Toro that much. It's almost SO relentless that it's too much for me. Everytime I've ridden it, I've walked off with a headache. The first three hills are amazing, but then it becomes just a touch too intense for me and the finale feels like its going to give me whiplash or rip my head right off or something. So perhaps the person who put it in the middle is a person like me who, for their own strange reasons, didn't personally love El Toro, but also recognizes that there are things about that make it a "good" coaster which you just can't honestly stick at the bottom of the pile either. This might make sense to no one but me lol.
  13. I love how Nagashima has an Intamin Looping Starship, both a Schrarzkopf Looping Star and Shuttle Loop, AND an Ultra Twister. It's like if AstroWorld had a big Japanese cousin....
  14. I just don't understand all these complaints of leg pain. I've never once experienced that on a stand-up. I think if your legs are hurting, you didn't adjust the restaraint properly. I have pretty much liked or loved all of the stand-ups I've been on (even including Batman The Escape!) The higher center of gravity makes the experience more forceful and exciting in my opinion.
  15. More likely, you just caught it on a very rare, good day. Interesting... I guess I've caught several of these "very rare" days?
  16. I'm in the camp that thinks KK/TTD are just fine how they are. They're short, but the experience is so intense and breath-taking, I don't really think anything else is necessary for me to feel totally satisfied by the experience. It's sort of like skydiving - if you think about it, you're paying $250 for a seven-minute experience, but that doesn't seem overpriced when you experience it and the experience is incredible and unlike anything else. That launch is INSANE, then the huge pop of airtime 450 feet in the air, followed by that crazy dive back to earth is plenty of excitement for me. Also, I haven't experienced the alleged rattle or roughness on KK.... I guess I haven't caught it on a bad day?
  17. For me, it totally depends on the park I'm visiting. If it's just a regualr trip to my local home park, I try and bring as little as possible. Pretty much JUST my wallet. I even leave my phone in the car because I'd rather not have to worry about it. If I'm visiting a Disney/Universal/Orlando-esque park, I'm more likely to bring a backpack full of stuff because A. those parks make bringing a bag much easier and more convenient by offering free lockers and allowing bags on many rides and B. I'm a cheap/poor person so I totally take advantage of the parks letting me bring in my own food. So I'll pack along pretty much anything I need including my phone (to check wait times at the next park via the park apps), sunscreen, Tylenol, flip-flops (so I can switch out my footwear for water rides) etc.
  18. For me, it's the log flume. There's just something about log flumes that I LOVE. And I mean pretty much any kind of flume, from the most tricked out, Orlando-fied highly themed Splash Mountains and Journey to Atlantis' to your most basic old school Arrow log ride. I'm not saying I can't enjoy a park if it doesn't have one, but there will always feel like there's something lacking if there's no flume. My home park of the moment - SFNE - does not have a log flume, and if I could add any ride or coaster or attraction, that's what it would be. I'm a flume-o-phile!
  19. I find it interesting that several people here seem to think they know exactly what they have time and money to construct by 2015. Lol.
  20. It drives me up the wall when parks don't allow you to choose your own row on a coaster. (This doesn't bother me at Disney because they are cycling through insane amounts of people and none of their coasters are intense enough to make much difference where you sit). But If I've waited in line, I want to be able to choose where the hell I sit.
  21. The thing that makes no sense to me in this proposal is the projected revenue of $40 million annually based on theoretical hourly capacity of 2400 rph. Do they actually think this thing would have a line of riders filling trains all day every day?
  22. I've liked all the ones I've been on pretty well but my #1 outranks all the rest by a mile. Here's how I'd rank them: 1.Superman: Krypton Coaster 2.Kraken 3.Bizarro 4.Scream! 5.Baman: The Dark Knight
  23. There are so many that I like, and I agree with the general sentiment that Busch parks give their coasters awesome names. I will say thought that I've always been a fan of clever names, especially if they are a play on words. Ie: Rock'n'Rollercoaster Mr. Twister Steel Eel California Screamin' Psyclone Shivering Timbers
