First of all, this sounds extremely unlikely to come to pass. Secondly, if it did, I really don't think Six Flags would attempt to merge the two brands together. They would probably keep the same management in place in the SeaWorld division and keep running those parks virtually the same as they are now.

I'm pretty sure I've seen all the updates from Pantera on this thread, but just to double check: Do we yet know whether or not there will be guests coming into the park, riding rides and spending money? I would say that this is the determining factor in whether or not I purchase the game. Building coasters/parks is fun, but if I can't actually open my park for business, I might as well just play No Limits.

This is exactly the reason I've always thought.

I don't know that you can really say having a hypercoaster keeps a park open, and as someone pointed out, you can look at the correlation backwards and say that only successful parks have the means to build such large coasters. I will say though that hypercoasters seem to be good investments. They usually retain their popularity and status as "signature" attractions for years after they are built. They typically have good capacity, high ridership and act as good billboards for the park as they dominate the skyline.

So the statistics and concept art both indicate that Coast Rider will be a Mack Wild Mouse "Large Park" model. This seems like a slightly odd choice to me because if Knott's wanted to purchase a new family coaster, I would think they could just have easily gone with something a little more unique and with higher capacity (not to mention the fact that Legoland just down the road already has a clone of this model.) This leads me to believe there is a good chance that this may be a relocation of either Ricochet from KD or Fly from CW (both the same model.) This would explain why they made what would have been a kind of weird choice if they purchased it new.

Was Six Flags Amercia a bad idea?

Why is it being discussed at all? I'm pretty sure this same discussion can be read on every tenth page of the SFA thread. -
Sometimes I wonder if these future attraction surveys aren't necessarily market research for just the park they conduct them at, but if it's really research for future attractions in Six Flags parks in general. I also think that some of the potential rides they mention are not things they are actually considering in the future, but are just thrown in there to see what their guest demographic feels is "missing" or would be a draw for them. For instance, I really don't think that SFOG is actually considering adding a 400 ft drop tower, hypercoaster, or dolphin show, but they are using vague examples to see if people are more interested in shows/family attractions vs. big thrill rides. Of course, enthusiasts always tend to take these surveys much more literally than they're intended to be.

Trip to the U.S.A next year
jzoole replied to aussiekid's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's an approximately 27 hour drive from Los Angeles to Minneapolis. You might find it easier to just fly. As KCForce already said, it's another 6 hours to Great America from there, and then 5-6 more to Cedar Point. From that point, it's 16 hours to Orlando. It seems to me that the easiest thing to do would be to rent a car in California and hit the West Coast parks, then fly to Minneapolis and rent another car to hit Valleyfair, Great America and Cedar Point. Then you could fly from Cleveland to Orlando and rent a third car to get to the Florida parks. On another note, will you have someone older travelling with you? Generally, you have to be 21 to rent a car. There are a few agencies that will possibly rent a car to someone under 21, but these are very few and far between, and don't exist in some states (I don't think there are any in Florida). Also, if you can find them, they will charge you an enormously higher rate. This is something to consider and research before you make big plans. Best of luck! -

^That makes me really sad too Does anyone know if that Intamin Dolphin Tower thing ever got built anywhere? It looks kind of Googie! I love it. Also, am I confused or was that a small portable version of the Schwarzkopf Shuttle Loop? Was THAT ever in existence?? -

^Thank you for your compassionate words As awful as they are, The WBC probably do more to help us gays than hurt us. They've certainly put an ugly face on the anti-LGBT movement, and I think it has helped more and more people to realize how ridiculous it is. Anyway, end rant. I'm surprised they bothered with Gay Day at Six Flags. -
Hmm. I guess that's pretty good addition for them. I think it's great that they're sort of transforming that area into a 1950's upstate New York lakeside-resort (aka Dirty Dancing) theme. I'm not sure how "Blast Off" quite fits that theme, but it doesn't terribly NOT fit. Not bad. I wouldn't mind seeing some other areas of the park transformed into "themed" areas. I bet the whole Viper-Mind Eraser area could pretty easily be converted to have a Frontier/Western theme. Ride of Steel is BEGGING for a retheme/rename anyway, so that area could take on a new vibe as well.

Interesting. I'm a little surprised to hear about a La Vibora paintjob. I would have guessed we'd be seeing LV leave in the near future lol. -
