  1. Assuming it's going in the same spot they had gotten clearance by the town to build it last season, I believe it's going over near where Catapult was. EDIT: The Six Flags New England facebook page just posted a piece of aerial concept art that confirms Sky Screamer will indeed be in Catapult's old spot.
  2. ^They can't do that. The area behind there are wetlands which are under strict environmental protections which restrict the park from building practically anything back there.
  3. I'd just like to point out that the second "landmark" they posted a picture of is not a Massachusetts landmark. It's the Mark Twain House which is in Hartford, CT. But whatever.
  4. Just wondering.... where have you seen the attendance figures from Six Flags St. Louis? I've never been able to find attendance figures for Six Flags parks other than the ones that sometimes land in the Top 20 attendance list for all of North America. I always just assumed that Six Flags does not make the attendance figures of individual parks available, but you seem to have access to the numbers.... could you share your source?
  5. Good to hear! I was expecting the typical Florida rain obviously, but wasn't sure if Chantal would be a gamechanger. Thanks so much!
  6. Hello TPRrs, specifically native Floridians: Our trip to Orlando (my very first one... eek!) begins this weekend..... and OF COURSE Tropical Storm Chantal is a'blowin in the Gulf. So I'm freaking out worrying that parts of my trip will be ruined. Anyone have any idea what I should expect? Thanks!
  7. On my last visit, I did notice the slight rattle on SKC on the outside seats. The inside seats however were still smooth as glass. I just stuck with inside seats for the rest of the day and was perfectly happy.
  8. I was there standing in line when it came off (it was my friend and I who took the pics for Screamscape) and yes, it was the entire rattle which fell off. They closed the ride down and I was worried it would be down the entire day due to the rattle flying off mid-ride, but it reopened about an hour later with the rattle removed from both trains. They ran it that way the rest of the day. By the way, HOLY MOTHER OF GOD iRat is amazing. Better than Bizarro, better than NTAg, better than El Toro.... I have a new number one.
  9. Same here.... I will be in Texas this month and am really trying to figure out when I should book Megabus tix from Houston to San Antonio, but the longer I wait the higher the prices will be. When you say we will find out opening date "soon" do you mean this week?
  10. Texas has been experiences drought conditions the past few years.
  11. I actually think MTV's scripted series are some of the few half-decent things they've done in the past decade. Teen Wolf and Awkward are both pretty well-received by critics. Obviously their geared towards a teen audience, so I don't actually watch them regularly, but I've caught Awkward a couple times and it's pretty funny. Anyway, this might not be terrible. Also, in response to someone's suggestion about Real World: Cedar Point.... About five or so years ago, MTV was in early stages of production of a Laguna Beach/Jersey Shore-esque reality series about the lifeguards at Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels. I had a friend who was a lifegaurd there and was selected as one of the cast memebrs. The idea was basically to have a show about all the drama and fighting and hooking up etc. that goes on with all the good looking college-aged lifeguards at a waterpark. Anyway, for whatever reason it got cancelled before ever being aired. I'm sure it would have been garbage just like every other MTV reality series.
  12. So does that mean iRat will be open the weekend of May 18th??
  13. I personally don't mind seeing parks remove their go-karts. If I want to ride go-karts, I'll just go to a go-kart place. I'd rather see the space utilized for something more amusement-park-y. Just my two cents.
  14. Cyclone only got one very small section Topper Tracked. Smaller than the sectionof Topper that the Rattler got last year.
  15. It was recreated as Mighty Canadian Minebuster at Canada's Wonderland/ I mean, I don't think it's a 100% faithful recreation, but the layout was modeled pretty much completely after Shooting Star.
  16. I think the best candidates for Iron Horse makeovers are The Boss, Mean Streak, Colossus and SFNE Cyclone. Ghost Rider clearly just needs a full Topper Track replacement job.
  17. Interesting. I won't complain if this comes to fruition. But I probably won't pay to visit this place either.
  18. ^^ Where's your pillow?? ^That picture rocks.
  19. Oh my gosh, this is making me so sad But thanks for posting Shane!
  20. I hope it gets relocated if for no other reason than that it is a relic of AstroWorld. Anyway, I could see it as a good addition at The Great Escape.
  21. ^I thought the track-style looked quite SD2K-esque lol. Looks fun, but certainly doesn't look like it would be nearly as intense as a MegaLite. I wonder how they would compare price-wise.
  22. I was stumbling around the internet this evening and somehow ended up on the Chance Rides (formerly Morgan) website. I noticed they are offering a new product they are calling the HyperLite. They also have a link to a YouTube animation with a POV that was uploaded a few weeks ago. Seems like this is their answer to Intamin's MegaLite. Looks interesting (particularly because it's been nearly a decade since their last coaster installation.) Anyway, thought I'd pass this along here. http://chancerides.com/coasters/hyperlite.html
  23. Lagoon looks like a really cute park.... but all of their logos and signage look like they were made on MS Paint.
