When was the last time before this when HUSS sold a Pirate? Great to have a new one - hope they have not changed on the lapbars as they offer great feels in the rear rows of each side giving you enough room to slip up the bench a little... -

Why are most - correction: all so far shown US carnivals look so sketchy and the rides so...so...run down. The only ride here looking at least decent is the ferris wheel. Were is the backwall for the Moser Rides deathmachine? Were is the lighted "FLITZER" sign and colorful flags supposed to be mounted onto those bare beams? Sometimes I like my country just for having the great carnivals! -

Thanks for the infos. I hope that park attendance might be lower on Saturday - or that some visitors gather around the tv screens - as I will be there when European Song Contest is on... -

Nice TR so far... On what day of the week did you visit? And was the Fastpass really good value? Next to that I read on some older reviews on other sites that the two Madrid parks only dispatched a train if it was completely filled and therefor took some time to dispatch a train. Is that still so??? Just have all this questions as I will fly for long weekend in Madrid early May... -

As you cannot depend on dry weather in the northern US states I also do not buy cheap online tickets in advance - and might screw them if I will be at the park on a rainy day. And converted into €uro most US prices are so bad overall... Next to that some years ago Cedar Fair was not accepting Euro credit cards online while SF and Disney did...

Europa Park Discussion Thread

On Freefall Tower: They have some design ideas and there will be ride in the future - but can take some years - "up to 10 years". They want to design a special tower that is unique from other manufacturers and caters a bigger audience as they think current towers are quite expensive and cater only a small audience. Waterpark: Is in the paperwork process with German authorities. The plans are fixed and IF they get the GO it might be finished in 2016 - at latest 2017. It will be mostly indoor and a unique to Europe attraction. On Mega-Coaster: No, this was an April Fools Day joke! There is new coaster in early planning stage - but no more information will be available in the near future. -

I visited on weekdays September two years ago and was a charm. Lines were below 20 mins generally, Single Rider on Blue Fire and Wodan around 0-5 mins. Last year I visited on a Sunday and was okay - maybe because was there on a slightly showery day - but EP offers enough shows and darkrides to keep one occupied even in inclement weather. If you are into food do not miss the Balthasar Castle. I would recommend to stay in one of the great resort hotels which offer early entry to selected areas of the park. Alternatively I would recommend Freiburg which offers a historic postcard ready city center and enough for all wine, beer and schnaps enthusiasts - train from Freiburg to Ringsheim with synchronized Bus to EP is very easy. EDIT: Even on the showery Sunday in September opening times were extended to 20:00, look out for signs "Closing Time" throughout the park around 14-15h. Extended times include most shows and restaurants. -

"Small Diver with Immelman and EXTRA Bayerncurve" Maybe they got some cold feet after the problems they had with VH as they mostly tried something unique and new in the past. With Python - prototype Vekoma MK-1200, Joris - first euro dueling woodie and VH - prototype KumBak watercoaster. So I am a little disappointed they play it very safe now - hopefully saved by a darkride part before and during the lift as well as before the station. -

Gawd, as also said before I might have turned around and came back another day... A cool idea would be if they have such lines that they close of some flats on the lines way exclusive for people in line to ride - as well as drop out and drop in areas to visit the toilet or snack-shacks, I would never be able to stand 4 hours in a line without visiting a toilet... Nice pics, nevertheless! -

Likely true. But I guess this is the dilemma this park is facing - I think there is some "Grow or Die"-Rule soemwhere in business... Edit: How about turning this into a private park like Stricker's Grove - open to locals for a monthly fee and for Business events... -

^Thanks for the info... But I guess if any major operator moves in they surely want to have the NYC market as it is quite close by - but maybe thats the reason they did not want Zamperla or Lego to move in, would surely destroy the "Park next door" feel sooner than later. -

Consider visiting this park while being in New York next year - well if it still be around then. From a tourists view I think Coney Island has by the better location - you just hop into the subway and you are spilled out nearly right into the fun zone. And while I like driving around the US countryside I prefer not to get lost inside the NYC traffic to visit this park. Taking the local commuter rail and then the local bus is something only enthusiasts would do. If a big operator would move in they should do a bus shuttle synchronized with train arrivals and departures. And on first sight aside from the two woodies there is not much to keep me around except maybe the looping hammer. With friends one could do the water rides and ferris wheel - but they should get some modern rides to be competitive. I would say if Zamperla wants to move in this would not be the worse idea. A question: How is thew area around the park? Are there some nice restaurants, etc. for tourists? Or rather an area better not to stay too long? -
