Bakken is such a fun park with so many unique rides - feeling a little like a stationary carnival. -
New Triple Corkscrew Coaster.
simon8899 replied to Gutterflower's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Funny they still used an improved version of the old Arrow corkscrew supports instead of the newer single point supports used by newer Arrow and all Vekoma coasters. Will be surely cool to ride but most likely painful... -

Photo TR: Warner Bros. Studio Tour London

Nice TR - did not think of Warner having a studio tour in London... -
Everything in the park looks brand new with all the fresh paint. Hope they can mantain it that way in the future. And always cannot get over the small doors at the Break Dance - rode one with those in Spain and boy does it slow down operations - a showmen owning a Break Dancer like this at our carnivals would be broke in days...

Was there last Monday but had no time for the kids areas - was slow at first but kicked in at around noon and the park was packed from then. Also for the first hours the Skyway was down - and it IS essential as the ride areas are widely seperated. I skipped the TopSpin - normally like this kind of ride but the program it ran was ultra-boring with no multispins. Why does one have a TopSpin and then not doing what it does best? Coasters were all great - more in my own TR in two or three weeks but have to go to Liseberg riding Helix first...

Photo TR: Angry Birds Land (04-06-14)
simon8899 replied to StealthFan's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Well it is not easy to theme dodgems but this is another lame theme park dodgem. You can do something with the light-package on the inside - and as its well shaded due to the roof it also works in the day. Like putting in some rotating red and yellow lights - the primary colors of the Angry Birds. Or put some LED art on the inside of the tent. Maybe parks should look at German carnival dodgems to see what can be done making a colorful one. Often when I hear "oh it is not easy to theme a flat" I mostly think these poeple have not much imagination... -

The ride is developing fine but the food menu looks not very high class. They should take a look what they serve at France in Epcot Center... -

Starting to look good. And kudos to the owner(s) for getting mostly original rides and little knock-offs. -

So far only saying heavily injured at German news sites. No information on the cuase of the accident is disclosed due to ongiong investigations. On the other hand the show seems to go on as so far the Miss WorldCup 2014 contest will still be held this evening at the Colosseo. But maybe this will be cancelled or postponed on short notice. -

First heavy construction machine has arrived on site Kärnan Construction Picture blog -
I see that year-round parks like in Florida or South California have to built new rides at some time during the year and you are always "too early" for an attraction no matter when you will visit. But seasonal parks better get their rides ready by season start - or announce them to be two-years like Liseberg (Helix), Hansa-Park (Kärnan) or Kolmarden (Wildfire).
-
Looks like a nice park. I have it as optional park next year on my driving day from Pittsburgh to Kings Island. Can you also pay for single rides? Aside from the coaster there is not that much having my attention on the rides area. Planning to do 2-3 hours there mostly for coaster and lunch...

Thanks for this great TR! Wets my appetite for my visit in now less than two weeks - in between some Smiler and other English fun... If weather permits I will visit Liseberg two days as its really worth in this great park. And seeing new Zierer coasters like Verbolten one can still see Anton's heritage in them. Same is true for the Gerstlauer family coasters.
