  1. Spend a great and very warm weekend in Madrid and visited both parks. First off on the Saturday to Parque Warner which lies in the outskirts of Madrid. The park is easily reachable by public transport: Start off at Atocha train station - do not miss the tropic palms, flowers and turtles inside the historic steel hall - and head for Cercanicas surburban rail platforms. Board line C-3 towards Aranjuez and Exit at Pinto. As you exit the station cross over the smnall parking lot and find the bus stop just on the opposite side of the street. Look out for bus 413 "Parque Warner - Pinto" service. Note that the bus only accepts at max €5 bills and will not change larger bills! You have to pay €5,10 for a return ticket to Pinto at Atocha station and €2 each direction at the bus. Do not throw away the train ticket upon leaving the train, you have to use it to exit at Atocha the Cercanicas area. Parque Warner greets you with a hub of green surrounded by mostly dry areas. On the one hand it is sad they have no observation ride - gyro tower, ferris wheel,... - to make aerial photos of the coasters and rides but on the other hand there is nothing to see around the park xcept for dry undeveloped land. Parque Warner has a solid coaster lineup cornering all the basics but IMO no standout coaster. The flat collection is okay but programs tend to be on the shorter and not much thrilling side. Highlight are waterrides: Shoot-The-Chute and log flume will have you soaked nicely in the hot Spanish sun. StuntFall: Vekoma GIB which had some light headbanging inside the Cobraroll but was a nice thrilling ride for me. Wierdly Parque Warner has closed the first and last rows for riders. Superman: B&M Floorless looper being the tallest and longest coaster in the park. Big fun and reminding me a little of Scream at SFMM. Offered two moments of floating air. Batman La Fuga: My first Batman clone so far and liked the intense ride quite unlike many newer B&M coasters. Best in the front as there is some light headbanging in the rollovers in the back of the train. Western Express: Welcome to my new worst wooden coaster. Having Intamin wooden coaster trains but this is toally horrible and even slightly painful. Tom Y Jerry: Standard Tivoli Large family coaster getting a little bouncy with age. Bip, Bip: The by far smoothest coaster in the park is this fun little Mack YoungStar coaster, more parks should get it for their family coaster lineup. Getting dropped by the bus from Pinto here is the money shot of the entrance Inside Parque Warner the fountains offered drinking water which is not standard in Spain which has in the summer always water saving procedures in effect View down towards the cicular midway of the park The major coasters are all hard to photograph as they lie on the outskrits of the park. Here Superman going up its lift Some animation going on Thrilling Stuntfall goes loop-the-loop. I found it not as bad as others here have said. Better than a SLC but not as good as an Invertigo Splash Battle right opposite of StuntFall Not beeing slim myself I did not found the lift uncomfortable Nice looking "Old New York Street" StuntFall recommends Carpet Clean One of the few glimpses of Superman track you can get from inside the park Superman "Daily Planet" building with a waterplay area in front of it Going up! They had two trains running making it a walk-on nearly all day Who will not trust Lex Luthor with a ride? Batmaaaaan! Also running two trains with no line. Liked the forceful compact layout but also showing first signs of age Always good to have a part of home away from home The program sadly was quite lame with no multi-spins Batman taking a spin trough Gotham City Mr. Freeze had done his job well in "Pimp My Zierer Waveswinger" Gotham City aside from the midway games area looking quite nice
  2. But that is the case in most US parks that you have to pay for lockers to store loose items while most EU parks have free storage on the ride plattform. The latter coming with no liability of course but never noticed anything getting stolen. Overall I think that while in the US the slogan "For Your Convenience..." is plastered everywhere I think here in the EU parks are far more costumer friendly and not making a fuss about it than most parks in the US... Generally reading "For Your Convenience..." in the US I always think "Uh-Oh, now something very inconvenient for me will come along!"
  3. Thanks for this PTR from this fun-looking little park. And unlike many American parks featuring a great lineup of flats. I love this new Chance inverting thingy - tried it at Belmont - and always good to see a today seldom found Zierer Hexentanz/Witchdance.
  4. ^Good to know. Will do it at first stop next year coming in from Newark so might only have 3-4 hours on Memorial Weekend Monday - sadly the piers are closed during the week after that so will only have that limited time. Hope to at least get all coasters done once...
  5. Like how they keep their Flitzer. These are real family coasters - not too intense for small kids and still fun enough for all ages. The Dragon Wagon and similar coasters on carnivals today are just insulting to veryone aged 6 or older... How far are the piers spaced apart? Can it be done on foot?
  6. ^Always thought it would make a great Euro-Fighter like Fluch - but not complaining on how it turned out...
  7. It is sometimes difficult to predict crowds on simply looking at them. Was at Parque Warner and dispite the huge crowds at entry coasters were a walk-on nearly all day. The twens were mostly entertaining themselves by drinking beer and getting soaked at waterrides - and so the Fastpass was of value afterall as on a 35 °C day the flume and shoot-the-chute had 30+ minutes lines and I could get a cooling without waits...
  8. Nice TR! The only sad thing after they opened the Eurotunnel is that there are no longer Hoovercraft ferries from Calais to Dover...
  9. In the Forum, the topic linked into the park index.
  10. Abismo at Parque Atracciones Madrid - cool ride! But why has the Intamin invert Tornado a 1,87 max height restriction??? Checked at Sarkeniemmi and theirs has no such restriction... At least Abismo made by tall Germans has a 2 meter max height...
  11. For Germany there are some "special economy zones" which can be visited with a German Passport and you apply locally for a "Travel Visa" - this can be valid from one to several days. But even the German Department Of State is saying on its website that these "zones" and the maximum length of the "Travel Visa" can change in very short time without notice. Even for a day trip from Hong Kong to neighboring "special economy zones" travel forums recommend "to go to the border and see if it works out as it seem to change sometimes day-by-day". Well, enough parks and coasters to do in the US, Canada and Mexico!
  12. I would hope China will introduce a travel authorization system like ESTA in the US. Having to go to an Embassy to apply for a visa is such a hassle and so 20th century... But a quite impressive lineup!
  13. Libre Office Spreadsheet with my Ubuntu. Off course counting clones as they can be quite different. Vekoma Boomerangs can have old Arrow/Vekoma trains but also new trains by Vekoma with vest or by SAT with lapbars which are quite an improvement.
  14. It is somehow "strange": As soon as they bought the Skywheel a year later they built their own knock-off. But companies big enough like CocaCola have their rights done even in China - but lets see when China puts out their knock-off Cola right down to the original Atlanta recipe.. I guess many ride manufacturers fear the loss in business instead taking action. Zamperla at least drove them out of one of the IAAPA shows if I remember correct. Hope other companies will follow someday... I may sound a little a grumpy but I do not like when I get letters for posting a single copyrighted picture on the web and whole countries get away with infringement in large scale...
  15. Looking great! Alyways love when parks add some flats and not "only" coasters and/or waterrides.
  16. These caps are from Blackpool Pleasure Beach taken in 1947 showing a coaster with seating like on a today rafting ride. @Knoebels: Can you please re-create this?
  17. Is it just me or are Swinging Ships having a kind of small revival? Djurs in Denmark also get one this year...
  18. If elongate the break run one could stack more trains there but I guess 3-4 trains is the max you can do with this layout.
  19. Never noticed that in parks and formerly fairs here...
  20. ^you are like right. But wouldn't that be real cool? If I am thinking about it I cannot name one Pirate were entry and exit is on the same side... That aside if you have those doors air-powered like ride gates there should not be any major problems - never known these things to fail...
