  1. Linnanmaki owns a HUSS Booster - similar concept but you swing sideways instead of backwards/forwards. There a still some Shaker on our carnival circuit - I guess at least 5 - while I know only 2 Booster that are around.
  2. Saving Mr. Banks - Disneyland California - Main Street, Cinderella Castle, Fantasyland Carousell In Germany Wrigley's has an commercial featuring the Olympia Looping's first drop filmed in Hamburg - the track of the coaster is turned green with a computer effect
  3. Transition between the first and second loop on the original Schwarzkopf Thriller - 6.2-4 Gs
  4. ^"Opa" is "grandpa" in German... Also curious how one could fall off these. On faster spinning ones one is quite jammed into seat due to the centrifugal forces so unless you try any stunts I guess this kind of coaster would even be safe without restraints. Interested to see the final report.
  5. I knew the pictured Mondial Shaker looks familiar...
  6. Great to see Shockwave running - hope they have solved the problems they had with it last season
  7. I mostly go by this with steel coasters: A single car - or multiple cars linked to form a train - which use a wheel assembly to run on a steel track...by this I rate: - Alpine Coasters: Yes - Powered Coasters: Yes - Water Coasters: Yes - but only those which are always running on an steel track even inside water like KumBak's "De Vliegende Hollander" at Efteling, meaning the boats do not float classically and do not run inside a "tube" for the coaster part Exceptions - as always: - Bobsled coasters
  8. Looks like another cool event! Hope all US members living near one of the listed parks are participating if schedule permits... If it goes on next year about the same time of year I might be with it...
  9. ^Have you ever rode this? The explanation might be true but the precautions are from riding these coasters since a kid and I heard here on the forum some complaints from first riders about the clamps coming down and bending your spine quite painfully...
  10. To have a city park would be cool but on the other hand these views would drive me nuts all off-season...
  11. ^reminds me of Black Mamba at Phantasialand - best seat is rear left. The first drop is full of floater air all the way down...
  12. But as more of these get the new vest-like OTSRs one can ride those!
  13. Olympia Looping - and all other Schwarzkopf coasters with shoulder-clamps I persume: Make sure the clamps have no space between them and your shoulders. Also keep your shoulders pressed against them at all times. These little devils have the tendency to come down in high-G compressions making the rest of the ride uncomfortable if you not use the before mentioned precautions. Fluch Von Novgorod: Keep a "stiff neck" in the lying pretzel to avoid headbanging.

  15. Hope these will also come to Cinnecitta in Italy!
  16. Well, basically I like my home park Hansa-Park but honestly would spice it up a little with my fav rides, most of them from the 80s and 90s so I guess I would built myself a maintenece cost nightmare... - Schwarzkopf Thriller, I would get it home, restored to its original layout and with trains by Gerstlauer - Gerstlauer Infinity, an accelerator in the line of Karacho, maybe multilaunch - Gerstlauer family coaster, in the line of Die Schlange von Midgaard - Intamin Prefab Woodie, in the line of Heide-Parks Colossos, a massive airtime machine - HUSS Breakdancer - HUSS Take-Off - Schwarzkopf/Gerstlauer Monster III - Schwarzkopf Enterprise - Weber Traumboot - Zamperla Air-Race - Zierer Waveswinger - Funtime HighFlyer - Classic Caroussel - Mack Music Express - Kiddie Land with lots of small rides by Zamperla - Mack logflume, with turntables, 1x backward and 2x forward splashdown - Wild Water West Spinning Rafting - abr rides watercoaster, in the line of Rittersturz at Klotten - gyro observation tower And the the park would hopefully grow from that...
  17. Great stuff as always! Loefet should get an amazing Bag-Of-Crap for all his amazing progress reports!!!
  18. These special events always look great fun on TRs - but they also have amazing crowds on these days which is bad for doing rides...
  19. I will ride my first wing rider in a few weeks at Heide-Park's Pre-Opening event so can only make a verdict then. However have to agree that the GP has no clue of good coasters. At Heide Limit - a Vekoma SLC - has mostly always way longer lines then Desert Race - an Intamin Accelerator. I even heard some of the GP saying that "Limit is the best coaster I have ever done" while my eyes searched for something to clobber some sense into these people... For those who have a comparison: How do Wing-Riders do compare to Arrow's X2 or Intamin's Furius Bacco which are similar designs out on the market?
  20. ^^have not noticed that. But the best fountain to play always was the "Wasserklopps" at the Berlin Europa-Center...such memories of getting totally soaked and loving it...
  21. Looking fine. How about adding some fountains like in European gardens - as a kid I loved to play in/around them.
  22. Smokers should be restircted to designated smoking areas. Specially in ride lines the no-smoking policies should be strictly enforced as that is totally annoying to non-smokers. Anyone who smokes in a line should get expelled from the park IMO.
  23. Will this game also get a "proper" release so you can download/buy it boxed at Amazon or local stores? I know - I am an old-fashioned guy... I for one would wait until coaster and ride creation is ready...
  24. As posted here before Bud Spencer did two of his "clobber movies" which were filmed in part at SFoG in 1979 and 1980: - The Sheriff and the Satellite Kid (1979) - Everything Happens to Me (1980) An episode of the German crime movie series "Tatort" ("Crimescene") was shot at Tripsdrill and featured the then new Mammut extensively: - Der Schrei (2009) And wonder if it was mentioned before: The Hulk Hogan vehicle Thunder In Paradise was filmed all over the WDW Resort featuring The Grand Floridian extensively - but also having bits from MK, Epcot and Hollywood Studios.
