  1. Quick question, is Tatsu still on one train operation? Thinking of heading to the mountain sometime this week and need to know if I should take the Revolution exit shortcut for the first ride.
  2. I asked a park worker when it is expected to reopen. Of course, as a normal SFMM employee, she only knew it was a "late spring" ride, so I guess mid April would make sense.
  3. Goliath (SFOG)
  4. This (when the track is complete obviously ) And the dive loop in this picture: Picture from RCDB
  5. Superman: Escape From Krypton
  6. ^Speaking of the Green Lantern, they have put it on their online interactive park map. Road Runner Express and JB's BBQ are also there, but when you click for the download, the map is from 2008 or 2009. Always fun to see new things on park maps! http://www.sixflags.com/magicmountain/info/parkmap.aspx
  7. Have you ever posted a POV of Superman? If you did I can't find it. I think you should if you havent!
  8. ...The sweet sound of silence... Anyone been to the park this week?
  9. ^^I also had a similar experience while waiting in the station for Revolution. A loud and obnoxious guest was in the station, and shouted across the station to the ride ops desk "HEY WHAT TIME IS IT?!?!" to which the op said on the microphone "It's Revolution time!" Well, it made me chuckle...
  10. What you experienced is the bad side of smart management. The Tatsu and Apocalypse trains are being rehabbed now and not the summer. How would you have liked to experience one train operations in the hot summer when the park is four times as crowded? As people said before, there is not much to do about that then suffer through the ride maintenance. Every park receives this, with SFMM's being noticeable unlike other parks because of being open year round. It is the off season, with Colossus undergoing track work and Deja Vu getting a new lift cable. Superman still needs some kinks worked out (especially on the right side). The park will be in great shape for spring break, which I believe is the third week of April this year. All in all, try it again. Go on a summer weekday and see 2 train ops on everything (except Goliath might have 3). The lockers will always be there, and spending $5 to $8 dollars is really not a lot. Buy your tickets online saves you $25. $15 parking is annoying, but its like that at all theme parks, zoos, convention centers, sporting arenas, etc.
  11. When I was heading up the Sky Tower on Saturday with a family of three. It was perfect timing right as Tatsu was wrapping around the tower. Then the dad says "Whoa! Look at that! We should definitely go on Ninja later!"
  12. Didn't ride Viper all day. Best description of Apocalypse i've heard. It was running like a banshee! Scream was running rough in my opinion, but I think that's pretty much how it always runs. When the one train ops on Tatsu was explained at the Q&A, it made total sense. Great foresight on maintenance and capacity concerns!
  13. GO DIET COKE!!! I live on that stuff...
  14. On the same note, was this Bonnie Rabjohn's first public appearance?
  15. Haven't been up to Bear Mountain in a longggg time, but Summit is a usual for me. Haven't skied as much as I would have liked this season unfortunately. Glad to see that there are skiers who also love theme parks like me out there!
  16. A couple of tips I can throw out: -Realistically, you will probably experience around 30 minutes to a 1 hour wait for X2 and Superman (Superman might even be higher, ride will only have been open for a week). Rides like Goliath, Batman, Riddler's, Apocalypse, Deja Vu, and Tatsu will probably fluctuate between 15 minutes and 35 minutes. Viper, Scream,Colossus, Revolution, Gold Rusher, and Ninja can be near walk ons to between 5 and 10 minutes if hit at the right time. -Single rider lines are available on Riddler's Revenge, Viper, and Goliath. -The fluffy bunnies cost $1. If you are too lazy to get out your wallet like me, hit a couple rides using one locker. You can keep stuff in your locker for up to two hours. Remember to strategically place your backpack in rides near the middle of areas. Viper, Tatsu, Apocalypse, and Batman are good rides to leave stuff at. -The best way to ride as much as possible is get there before it opens. Instead of going to X2, head over to Goliath, Colossus, Scream, Batman (in that order). You'll get those done fast when people are clogging up the other side of the park (X2, Viper, Revolution, and Tatsu). You'll probably start hitting crowds at Riddler's (use single riders line). Hope that's helpful!
  17. Don't forget an obligatory metro question!!
  18. Be bitten by a stranger. I'm not the one that's embarrassed... Would you rather write a book or movie?
  19. Because if you were handwriting, most people can't draw. Does a calculator powered by a combination of solar and battery power ever run out of battery?
  20. According to the ERT schedule they should be up and rolling!
  21. FYI, Sky Tower is Intamin. I was poking around Intamin's site and found out that they still offer "lattice towers" for sale, which I thought was interesting.
  22. I actually think Colossus is a fun ride to go on when there is little or no wait. The drops are ok, speed is good, but those turnarounds are slow... Not too bumpy IMO. But that's comparing it to the other woodies I have been on like Mean Streak, Ghostrider, Son of Beast, and Psyclone. I'd tear down Disaster Transport at Cedar Point. What is it still doing there anyway?
