  1. ^ I think the "needs more cowbell" reference was covered in the first post
  2. Don't go to SDC...it's fun, but you're way more likely to run out of things to do there than at WoF if you're looking for rides. WoF has a ton of flat rides and it has more coasters than SDC. SDC is fun and while the atmosphere is incredible, it's very family oriented - on a trip with friends I'd choose WoF. The one train at a time on coasters is dumb, especially on Mamba, but in July I would expect them to run more than one. I you ride one flat ride at Worlds of Fun, you MUST ride Cyclone Sams.
  3. DiVertical? Really? I'm gonna go ahead and say this name is dumber than Cheetah Hunt. I'm interested to see where this ride goes, but I want to see this name get changed STAT
  4. Every element on this ride looks like it will do sick things to my stomach...and I've gotta say I hope for one like that in the Midwest one day. This looks like the coolest thing by Gerstlauer so far.
  5. Good point, Cheetah Hunt is bad beyond repair... In all reality though, I'm joking. I think it will be a great ride, just not quite what I hoped for - yet I can't say this until I ride it.
  6. I feel embarrassed to say I was in Dallas and didn't make time to ride it last weekend...
  7. Maybe they'll have Rocky Mountain come in and re-do it...
  8. They were doing that when I rode it early in March, and I was very glad to not get wet at that part. IOA should follow suit and remove the cannons after the last drop on Dudley Doo Right...then again, they make money from both the cannon machines and the dryer machines people use after riding it - so I bet they won't.
  9. "That is too bold" - Kiera Knightley, Pirates of the Carribbean: BP. I don't like to criticize other people's opinions, I'm just very, very surprised by that...though the airtime in the back seat on Corkscrew was ridiculous. I can't remember if I've done a list, so here is mine (and it may be revised, as I've recently changed my list) 1. Maverick 2. Sheikra 3. Millennium Force 4. Kumba 5. Kraken 6. Montu 7. Manta 8. Dragon Challenge 9. Hulk 10. Raging Bull Raptor is close, and so is Mr. Freeze and Revenge of the Mummy...none of my top 10 are woodies, unfortunately, because most of the ones I've been on are not so great
  10. I agree with a lot of what you said ^. I don't think this ride will be phenomenal, and I don't even see it being the best in Florida...but it should still be a very fun ride, though I can't really judge it until I ride it.
  11. I've gotta go with Intamin. I haven't ridden that many, but Maverick is easily my favorite and just looking at I-305 and El Toro makes it an easy choice, not to mention Mega-lites and Aquatrax. A little roughness doesn't bother me, and I think it's a fair compromise for the sake of a better ride (with obvious exclusions, but I didn't find Maverick rough). I definitely do love B&M's though, and I've ridden plenty. I used to like them more, and maybe I will again someday.
  12. In my imagination: -A 300 foot tall Screamin Swing with 6 arms holding 32 people per row, 64 people per arm...and the seats rotate 360 degrees at times when it gets to the top of its swing. -An Intamin LSM launched coaster with a Maverick-style start and 2 more launches at 70 mph each. -A custom Intamin prefab -A custom B&M Dive Machine -Starry Night Ripper (Asian B&M flying coaster) plus a pretzel loop. In real life: -Maverick -Sheikra -El Toro -I-305 -Kingda Ka I haven't ridden the last three, but regardless they're in my park. Yet after I ride New Texas Giant, it may replace El Toro.
  13. I think the 2 minutes I waited on Gwazi's brakes beats out a 20 second wait on Sheikra...but still, both should be improved. I didn't find Gwazi Lion to be that much better overall than when I last rode it three years ago either.
  14. Dudley Doo Right....you'll get really wet if people are spraying you at the end (the worst part of the ride in my opinion, but IOA seems to go to the next level with a lot of things, and wetness is one of them). Every ride that seems like a "major ride" is fantastic, so hit all of them. If it's not too busy, I'd hit up Universal, too...as long as you get to ride every ride at IOA that is (obviously excluding a few, however Cat in the Hat is worth a 15-30 minute wait if you've never ridden).
  15. Each Pepsi product > Each corresponding Coke product If you think a 45 minute wait for Bubba Gump on a weekend is bad, I waited 2 hours for both Rainforest Cafe and T-Rex Cafe on 2 different weeknights in March...and while Potterland is chaotic at times, I think they did an amazing job that Disney would not have duplicated.
  16. I'll go ahead and say Cyclone Sams is in my top 10 as well...and Bamboozler is always fun, too. It's a must ride for anyone who goes to Worlds of Fun, and anytime one goes to Worlds of Fun. I don't have a favorite, but here's a few I like: Huss Enterprises Intamin Drop Towers S&S Space Shots Huss Giant Frisbees S&S Screamin Swing Tower of Terror at Hollywood Studios Sandstorm at BGT & Phoenix at BGT Huss(?) Chaos Forgot to say Top Scan - I rode one at the Houston Rodeo last year and it kicked ass
  17. ^ The first time I rode that ride I did not understand what happened. My sister and I laughed our asses off for the rest of the ride, and I'll never forget that ride because of that. I don't get why that made the ride so bad, I would like to see you elaborate...I think that part was awesome, yet Runaway Mountain at SFoT does the OMFG to you in the dark. My worst coaster experience was the Texas Giant at SFoT 3.5 years ago in August 2007. The first time I rode it that day it was absolutely horrible, yet for some reason I rode it again in the back seat. At the bottom of the first hill it was so rough that I couldn't see straight, and somewhere in the magic carpet section I hurt my back...so my second ride that trip was easily the worst experience I've had on a coaster.
  18. I was there the day they were filming it actually. Apparently people who got there near when the park opened were asked if they would like to ride it and be on it for the film shoot, and I heard a girl saying as we left that park that day - pointing at the Hulk - "I had to ride that thing 14 (somewhere around that number, it was 12 years ago) times in a row this morning!" I was so incredibly jealous...The ride was closed all day, and I was upset that I didn't get to ride it. However, I rode Dueling Dragons probably 12-13 times that day and none of the rides had lines (basically because it was a "soft-open" of the park, Dudley Doo-Right was nowhere near done and they had work to do on Suess and some other stuff). Anyway, the launch into the Zero-G roll is amazing every year I go and I even get goosebumps when the Doctor is saying "I think this time it-it's going to work." IOA just did such a great job with the theme and concept...
  19. I will be in Waco for my brother's graduation on May 14th I believe...man I wish I could make this event, but either way I plan to go to SFoT sometime that week!
  20. I guess since nobody has excluded Forbidden Journey, and since it hasn't won as many people over as I thought, then if someone can take that part out of the title that would be great (I'm not sure if I can do that, and if so, how do I go about removing it?). I've gotta say that I got to ride DD at night for the first time in years a few weeks ago, and Fire was absolutely tearing it up. Am I the only one who liked Rip Ride Rock It? It had technical issues the day I was there last year (this year I only went to IOA), but I got to ride it twice in the back and had a great time listening to Sabotage by the Beastie Boys...it's by no means the best, but it was still a lot of fun.
  21. 1. Zero-G-Roll (Kraken's being my favorite) 2. Whatever Maverick did to me twice in the portion after the launch, because that was sooo bad***...better yet, anything that happened on Maverick gets my number 2. 3. Vertical/Beyond vertical first drop (Sheikra and Maverick respectfully as the only two I've experienced) 4. Pretzel Loops on B&M Flyers 5. Goood airtime 6. Dive-Loops 7. Inverting Top Hat (Mr. Freeze) 8. Batwings/Pretzel Loops? on B&M Inverts
  22. I'm making this thread because I want to know your opinion on what the best ride at Universal Orlando is. Every time I go to Universal Orlando I honestly can't choose one ride as my favorite. I love them all too much - I love E.T. as much as I love Spiderman and as much as I love Dueling Dragons. I love Revenge of the Mummy as much as I love Dudley Doo Right and as much as I love The Simpsons Ride. Popeye is as good as the Hulk, Jurassic Park, and Dr. Doom. While this may be a bit of a ripoff of the WDW thread, but Universal Orlando has a lot more to offer to the thrill seekers out there along with top notch theming. I left out Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey because the ride is so mind-blowing that it's in a class of its own. The other rides are still some of the highest quality rides out there though, and I want to hear which of those is your favorite.
  23. It is really a close call between Tower of Terror and Expedition Everest. With ToT's current drop sequence, or lack of a drop sequence, I'll give it my vote for the best ride. I'd say Everest is #2, and I'd say it's the best coaster. RnRC isn't so great after the launch and sidewinder (or whatever that thing is called).
  24. "It was doin all them loop-de-loops," and I really don't like the word loop-de-loop in general. I think it sounds like something someone from Minnesota would say.
