  1. I wouldn't worry at all about the crowds on Sunday. If I were you, my main concern would be riding everything before it gets too cold. You may want to contact the park regarding their temperature policy to see what rides should be ridden first. On Banshee's media day, it was in the 40's; it and Bat ran no problem.
  2. When I first saw the title, I thought "Hmm..let's see if it looks good or not." Then I saw how ugly it looked and thought " Oh, right...Fuji-Q..."
  3. ^ This. I enjoy Dorney tremendously, and I love their coaster collection. I drive past it a lot on I-78, and I never stop for it. Maybe I'd visit it more if I get another CF Platinum Pass. Another great example of this is Marineland in Canada. It's a nice park with lots of potential, but it's so dull. They have a great Arrow all the way in the back with very little filler in between. I swear you have to walk a mile to get back to Dragon Mountain. Plus, almost everything in the park is painted brown. How dull is that?
  4. I know a lot of people complain that they're being added all over the place, but they're fun rides and this will work wonderfully at Dorney. That part of the park really needed a new family ride, too.
  5. Seems reasonable to me, too. I don't recall the Americans with Disabilities Act requiring theme parks to give free admission to anyone.
  6. Honestly, this is the first time I actually went to the construction cam site. I was expecting one of those cameras that refresh every thirty seconds, not a completely live one! Kudos, Holiday World!
  7. I wouldn't say its bland. For coaster enthusists it's not the best coaster park but the flat ride line up is the best in NE. These middle sized parks like lake compounce and canobie are hard for me to put on here. The park itself is far from bland but big enthusists are usually not visiting parks like these Well, Canobie Lake does have a real Rotor and a Caterpillar. Those are big points in my book. The dark ride and log flume are decent as well. As nice as that is, it's simply not worth doing the long drive again for me.
  8. This looks like a great haunted house. It will definitely be too scary for me to go inside. Live actors = no go.
  9. I have to agree with SeaWorld. Even though Manta is one of my all-time favorites, the park doesn't scream "come back!" to me. Especially how expensive it is to visit now. Another park like this for me is Canobie Lake. Don't get me wrong, it's an absolutely gorgeous little park and Yankee Cannonball is fantastic, but literally nothing else there gives me a desire to go back.
  10. Oh, I'm not saying that it should be an issue, and I agree that it shouldn't be. But we all know how people are. Personally, I'm ecstatic about it. Need...more...Apple products!
  11. ^ Their temperature policy is probably consistent with most parks, closing down rides at 40-45 degrees. Their ride policy used to be very liberal, but if it's raining when the park opens, Phantom's Revenge typically won't open until it stops.
  12. Jubile - Selva Magica, Mexico
  13. It will be interested to see how this will affect Apple's business, in the US and internationally. There's the obvious conservative areas of the US, Chick-Fil-A, Hobby Lobby, etc., but then there's also the infamous anti-gay legislation in countries like Russia and Uganda. We'll see how this pans out for them.
  14. ^ That was the problem I had with CW's Backlot: the effects not working. The splashdown isn't turned on at Kings Island anymore either, and I suspect it's the same as KD's. Although...that Rob Ford idea would be amazing!
  15. In response to a New York Times article entitled "Where are all of the gay CEOs?," Tim Cook (CEO of Apple) has come out publicly. He's also challenged his home state of Alabama to overturn their gay marriage ban.
  16. I feel this way about Six Flags over Texas. It's such a horrible park, even for Six Flags. Sure, they have NTaG, but their operations kill EVERYTHING. I mean, 45 minutes for Titan and the line is only in the station? Come on. All of their policies are based on fear of another accident. No single riders in the last row with no signs saying so, and a lot of their ride ops are extremely rude when enforcing it. How ridiculous can this place get?
  17. I'm also sorting by park. Canada's Wonderland - Leviathan (2012) Carowinds - Carolina Cobra (2009) Cedar Point - Wicked Twister (2002), Maverick (2007), GateKeeper (2013) Dollywood - FireChaser Express (2014) Dorney Park - Stinger (2012) Hersheypark - Storm Runner (2004), Fahrenheit (2008), Cocoa Cruiser (2014) Kennywood - Exterminator (1999), Phantom's Revenge (2001), Sky Rocket (2010) Kings Dominion - Backlot Stunt Coaster/Italian Job (2006) Kings Island - Banshee (2014) Luna Park - Thunderbolt (2014) SeaWorld Orlando - Manta (2009) Six Flags America - Apocalypse (2012), Ragin' Cajun (2014) Six Flags Magic Mountain - Speedy Gonzales Hot Rod Racers (2014) Six Flags Mexico - Joker (2013)
  18. This is a really amazing concept. Although, the last photo just looks like somebody's butt is in my face.
  19. ^ Your stories remind me of a few more: I-305, Primeval Whirl, Canobie Corkscrew, and a lot of kiddie coasters.
  20. I would love to see another 200ft+ woodie. Son of Beast always looked so intimidating!
  21. ^ If Cedar Fair buys it up, I still foresee it going along the lines of Geauga Lake. You know Cedar Fair won't want direct competition for Canada's Wonderland.
  22. It's a shame you guys had such a terrible day at the park. Your description of the Flash Pass lines reminds me of the Fastlane line for Bat at Canada's Wonderland. I will never forget waiting 45 minutes for that thing!
  23. I wouldn't call Michigan's Adventure neglected. Yes, their last coaster was a used SLC, but that coaster WORKS in that park, and it's not the worst SLC in the world. Even though they may not get huge additions all the time, what they have is maintained REALLY well. Shivering Timbers is an excellent wooden coaster, and it runs beautifully. It's a charming park with a lot of character. It's certainly not a neglected park by any means. Also, this thread is about Canada's Wonderland. Why must you keep bringing up MiA here? There's a thread for it, too.
  24. ^ Love the decor of your guest room! Can I invite myself over?
