  1. ^ True! Several in fact. < Is excited to add several more to that list in a few weeks. V Has been to a park on a different continent than he or she lives on.
  2. I love how all of the press releases came from personal e-mail accounts. It definitely shows that DreamVision is as skeptical as we are.
  3. The first thing I thought about with this vote was JR. GEMINI!!!! Even though I'm visiting the park a few weeks before this event, I would seriously drive all the way up there JUST for an opportunity to ride Jr. Gemini.
  4. TTD has a much better launch in my opinion, but the restraints do make a difference. You may have problems with Maverick, since it has the same restraints. (Personally, I can't stand Maverick because I get the sh*t beat out of me every time I ride it) Windseeker is much less scary (to me) than the SkyScreamers. The New England Sky Screamer scared the crap out of me when the wind twisted the seats, but this doesn't happen on Windseeker.
  5. Apocalypse is far from smooth. Just ask the people in the SFMM thread! (Personally, I don't think it's as bad as some people say, but it's definitely not a smooth coaster!)
  6. There are SO many parks I could list here. Europa Park All Disney parks (except WDW, since I've been there) Alton Towers Heide Park Nagashima Spa Land Ferrari World (I will be there on March 1!) PortAventura Liseberg Grona Lund Mirabilandia Terra Mitica SFGAm Gold Reef City Nasu Highland Thorpe Park Phantasialand Efteling So, so many more....
  7. I didn't find it that bad, either. That being said, I don't make it a priority when I'm at the park.
  8. That's truly the only difference between regular and plus. If you're going to get the regular FL, I'd take a spin each on GateKeeper and Maverick and spend the rest of the early entry on the one you like more (or marathon one on Saturday and the other on Sunday). Before the park opens up to everyone (ideally about 10-15 minutes prior), I'd get in line for TTD.
  9. Then we'd all be shocked. What if BGW's new coaster opens before they announce it?
  10. 4/10 1. Actually is spelled wrong. Shame... 2. Gemini above El Toro? Blasphemy!!
  11. "Dancing in the Moonlight" by King Harvest
  12. I was told at WCB by a park manager that they were shooting for a mid-June opening.
  13. High Speed Rollercoaster - Suôí Tiên Park I knew it was one of the Vietnamese coasters, but I had to double-check.
  14. Put me in the "I don't watch them because of short lines" category. I'm not really a show person, so I'd rather enjoy the short waits elsewhere in the park.
  15. I didn't find it that terrible at Geauga Lake, either, but I feel it's much rougher now at Michigan's Adventure.
  16. Great, TR! Banshee Bash was an amazing event, and your TR definitely captures that. I have a GREAT story. My friend, her boyfriend, and myself all rode the one at Carowinds (said friend had to be drug on due to her fear of heights). When we were up in the air, a plane flew by at a similar height (presumably landing at Charlotte airport). My friend's boyfriend said to her "Look, Jackie, we're as high as the plane!" She then proceeded to bite him so hard that she drew blood! To further add insult to injury of her terror, I bought her a Windseeker shirt at the gift shop.
  17. I really enjoyed GASM when I rode it a few years ago. In my eyes, Mind Bender and GASM are the "defining" coasters at SFOG. I wasn't a fan of Georgia Cyclone, but I rode it before it was retracked. Hopefully, I'll get a chance to come back this year for Namtab, and give it another go.
  18. ^ Ah, the old Hitler Rage Meme from "Downfall." One of my favorites; thanks for sharing!
  19. Fixed that for you. (Seriously, have you ever rode Batwing? That thing's a lawsuit waiting to happen with it's INCREDIBLY loose restraints.)
  20. ^ With how little we've seen of this game so far, you really can't make a judgment like that yet. I'm sure there's tons of stuff that we haven't seen yet. Even if it is an improved RCT3, it'll still probably be a good game.
  21. I recently purchased a Nikon Coolpix L330, one of the compact zoom cameras. I was looking at getting a DSLR, but they're just too damn expensive and way too bulky for carting around amusement parks. I haven't really had a chance to take any pictures other than test shots, but it seems like it's going to be a REALLY nice camera for the $150 I paid for it.
  22. Granted, but all you get to ride are Wacky Worms! I wish Kennywood would get a mobius, racing/dueling RMC woodie.
  23. Cedar Point originally tested Fast Lane back in 2005. I remember seeing it in action, and it was a complete disaster (I guess it was so bad, they pulled it mid-way through the season). At that time, it worked like the Disney FastPass system: wait in line for a distribution and get your hand stamped with a return time, plus it was free. Of course, nobody monitored the merge point, so it created a bit of chaos. If I remember correctly, the rides on the program were Magnum, Raptor, Millennium Force, and Wicked Twister. I tried to find an article about the old FL, but couldn't find anything.
  24. But then they'd have to remove the petting zoo!
