  1. POV http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asHlcN7mYQw
  2. What coasters haven't you been on, anyways?
  3. Because all of the ride is still rough as heck and needs a lot more TLC than what they gave it. The new section was so short in comparison to the full ride it still all just hurt like hell and you wanted the ride to just be over. Looking forward to finally riding a few more of the top 20 this spring and summer. But why was it 30-so before - even last year - but 168 or whatever this year?
  4. How did the ride get so bad with new trains and a partial redo?
  5. Why is the original Hades still on the poll at #31?
  6. Robb's rule, if you mention that person or their website you'll be banned from TPR. That's all I know. Where's the rule so I don't accidentally mention the unmentionable? EDIT: Nevermind, I found it. Why is the website unmentionable by name? Is the rule in the TOS? I'm wanting to know myself so I can avoid an accidental use. If you look up the profits thing, you will find the site. It is filtered here as BLOCKEDSITE. It does not appear in the TOS.

  8. By the same logic, Arrow and Vekoma must be unreliable too because Ninja and X2 had chain breaking issues.
  9. I've always found this obscure Arrow-Vekoma frankencoaster to be interesting. It was started by Arrow and finished by Vekoma in a similar fashion to Ninja at SFStL. Two POV videos exist - an older video and TPR's video. TPR- Other Video- This coaster has a unique layout. It appears to sit on a hill. It's inversions seem like they are in reverse order - it starts with a double corkscrew, then a reverse sidewinder, then a loop. In fact, my research shows that it is the first reverse sidewinder element. Unfortunately, the coaster was recently left to be SBNO. The state it is in today is restorable, but still dilapidated. Here is a video showing that- Now, I would have dedicated this thread to this unique Arrow looper that might never run again if I hadn't found a coaster with the same name that is totally messed up in every way, shape, and form. This monstrosity- http://rcdb.com/11049.htm# It has a circular loop, oddly shaped transitions, and a sharp downwards slope near the end. It is manufactured by a company called Chang Long, which has made 15 coasters total- http://rcdb.com/r.htm?ot=2&co=8770 Most of their coasters share the name "Gliding Dragon" and seem to be Dragon Wagon type rides. But they make some weird crud too. Here is another Chang Long looper- http://rcdb.com/9513.htm#p=31326 Or this one with unusual seatbelts- http://rcdb.com/9134.htm#p=0 And there is one more that has no pictures- http://rcdb.com/6753.htm Chang Long has also ripped off a spinning wild mouse- http://rcdb.com/3839.htm#p=31208 From the same guy who got the videos of the dilapidated Crazy Roller Coaster, here is a POV of one of Chang Long's loopers. Notice how the entire train groans simultaneously at certain points- Finally, on another note, they guy seems to have some cool park vidoes. His name is pysclonesteve. What Chinese coasters do you find unusual?
  10. In comparison, Hades360-Zeus is like Mean Streak-Outlaw Run. And Hades360-Mean Streak is like Ninja SFStL-Gatekeeper Ninja SFStL? Never been on it, how bad is it? St. Louis's Ninja is better than Georgia's Ninja by virtue of being shorter. I always thought of the SFStL Ninja as an Arrow looper, even though it was finished by Vekoma. Did Vekoma really mess up the ride that much compared to a "normal" Arrow looper?
  11. I think the Great American Scream Machine at SFoG would be a nearly perfect candidate for such a makeover. The only place where clearance would get tight is at the corner of the L (but imagine if they just banked the track 90deg for the turn on the return trip). They could do the Iron Horse treatment to the track, and then re-do the station to accommodate the 4D trains. I think it could be epic. That seems kind of unusual to overhaul a perfectly good, old woodie.

  13. I personally think that Michigan's Adventure is a perfect candidate for a Mega-Lite if Cedar Fair wants to do business with Intamin. It is small enough to be a good ride for the park, but the chain is big enough to justify an expensive coaster.
  14. Is Hades 360 really as bad as some make it seem? I went on it in 2008 as the original Hades - I don't remember much, but I didn't particularly hate it (my mom did.) Of course, it didn't have much time to rot back then. Zeus was much worse to me. What's worse - Hades 360 or Mean Streak (the crappy woodie that I'm most familiar with.)
  15. Why? It's perfectly fine with them. I'd take normal bars, but only if the ride was retracked and un-trimmed (I heard the trims really neuter the ride.)
  16. It doesn't even seem that Xcelerator could run with two trains. Here is why. You have the mag brake (not a block, it can't stop the train entirely), a main brake that seems to hold one train, and a station. If the train launches with one train on the main brake, and the brakes don't release, the trains will collide. If you release the train from the main brake and the ride doesn't launch, the trains will collide. It seems impossible to run 2 trains. Just my 2 cents. Can anybody produce a video of the ride running with 2 trains showing the cycle?
  17. Cedar Point's Top Thrill Dragster used to have a similar procedure, but I don't think they ever rechecked the train for somebody pulling down a bar, and that policy is gone now. Maybe SFMM could attach placards to the trains saying not to pull down the lap bars? Or, maybe next time it is down for maintenance, maybe a system could be installed that locks the lap bars up until a ride op comes around and pulls them down.
  18. We criticize "the other park" for not spending money to buy a spare train, so why is KBF is any different? Well, Scream is a different situation. When one train is taken off of Scream, you get 2 trains. However, SFMM seemed to feel the need to do what, if I understand correctly, was prolonged maintenance on two trains at once. On SB, you only have one train even if just one train is taken off. As for not having spare trains, I guess both parks are at fault for that to some extent.
  19. I really wish that I went on X2 more than twice. Considering that I also missed YOLOCoaster, a second SFMM trip seems like it is an obvious choice.
  20. For us roller coaster enthusiasts, didn't that quake damage Psyclone enough that it had to be trimmed to death, loaded a certain amount to complete the circuit, and soon turned to complete and utter crap?
  21. It's hard to tell but my only suggestion is that if possible you should plan on multiple days or make a last minute decision based on chance of precipitation. My experience is that if it so much as lightly drizzles every single coaster closes with the exception of the B&M's (Gatekeeper, Raptor and Mantis). This park has one of the dumbest rain policies of any park I've ever been to. Does Intamin, etc. recommend rain closings?
  22. That guy is a rather prominent SFMM fanboy troll. I doubt he's really like that.
