  1. Not the only one, just the only Mack one in the US. There are/were others from Intamin. Think Great Escape (forgot the name, is it Lake Placid Bobsled?), La Vibora (SFOT), Disaster Transport (CP, RIP), and more. These all are/were Intamin rides.
  2. One question - will Robb be there?
  3. Hey, it's the Magic Mountain of POV leaks - Better than nothing!
  4. I think that was a LAUNCHED knockoff. Gerstlaueringvar, could you dig up a picture of this? I'm too lazy.
  5. CP (infamous for badly excessive height restrictions) runs their Enterprise at 54" and their Vekoma junior at 48" for an unaccompanied rider (36" with an adult, I think.) Their Matterhorn (Bobs-type ride) is not 60". I'm hoping that is for riding alone and not in general.
  6. I'm going soon, is there anything out of the ordinary that I need to know?
  7. Looks fun and good, although I would have liked more pure airtime hills. I'm sure RMC will make this a ride to remember. On another note, am I the only guy who wants RMC to build an out-and-back sometime a la El Toro with more hills?
  8. What time will the announcement be tomorrow?
  9. What do you mean "are the old rides in the mountain?"... Is there remains of them visible from Volcano?
  10. I may have said this, but I wouldn't be totally bummed if this park got a corporate takeover by SF or CF (more likely CF due to SF's presence in the nearby area as SFGAm), they could probably manage it much better. However, what would Olympus do with their precious hotels?
  11. I seriously hope this is on par with the Mega-Lite, because maybe some small parks will get this. I've never been on a Mega-Lite, but let me tell you my biggest pet peeve about them. The first hill under the lift is twisted, therefore missing a great ejector airtime opportunity. The Mack version makes this worse, unfortunately, twisting before the summit of the hill. If I were to modify the design in one way, it would be to make the first hill an airtime hill, not a twisted hill. Although, I'm not sure if that would be too intense.
  12. http://www.wkow.com/story/25132689/2014/04/01/mt-olympus-cited-with-4-code-violations-in-roller-coaster-accident Wow. 4 of 12 lap bars failing. And 12 lapbars? Olympus runs 3 cars on a wild mouse? Isn't that a bit low?
  13. Still, 2 trains would be good. What if this park was bought out by Cedar Fair or Six Flags? As much as we criticize them, I would imagine they would do a better job of running the place. Of course, then where would Mt. Olympus go with their precious hotels?
  14. I hope this man survives. It is horrible when somebody dies doing one of the safest activities you can do, especially when it is the result of negligence.
  15. Off topic, what is RRv? I know I'll seem so stupid.
  16. So a symbol of the park that provides a great view and a nice air conditioned place is going to be torn down for what, the YOLOPOLOCoaster Polercoaster of YOLOness and swaggggg?
  17. The vest restraints seem awkward for a standup, but I'm sure that could be engineered around. On another note, Mantis rarely has a big line unless the park is crowded. It is a decent-capacity ride with 2 trains (the 3rd was removed and I imagine is used for spare part), but I still don't think it is that popular.
  18. I don't particularly like yellow and green, but I don't really like white either.
  19. What got tamed about NTAG? Isn't it the same as pre-accident, just with seatbelts that are usually considered unnoticeable?
  20. Whenever you complain about CP's weather policy or SFMM's single-train ops, look at this. Even though I will still bash SFMM (not CP, I am a fanboy.)
  21. Primarily wing and dive coasters due to their large, wide trains, I would imagine. I heard Oziris is forceless. But not all new B&Ms are bad. Even Silver Bullet - an otherwise rather forceless ride - has forces - the helix made me grey out, which never happens on Raptor to me. Hydra, while not particurally forceful, is a fun ride. Also, keep in mind that you're going through these inversions with no MCBR and (hopefully) no trims, at some points going faster than any other B&M invert. I think that this layout is hard to make forceless.
  22. So it's less of a Japanese inspired El Loco than an El Loco inspired Japanese coaster?
  23. I don't have a ton of experience with interactive dark rides besides the relatively fun family Boo Blasters series. I like interactive rides in general such as the Brain Surge flat at Mall of America. Look it up, it's a unique and awesome ride. You control how your vehicle rolls upside down. Flying Scooters fit here too, although the newer ones seem a bit crappy and unsnappable. Still fun, of course. I also like rides where the experience is intense and varies considerably each ride. Not like Green Lantern, but more like the randomness of a Chance Chaos (I really wish Cedar Point would have kept theirs. That was one of my favorite flats.)
