  1. YES Let's gather 'round the Maverick and sing our Maverick song, Our M-A-V-E-R-I-C-K-S-O-N-G Song! And if you don't think that you can sing it faster then you're wrong, But it would help if you just sing along... OR In Sandusky, the dark (?) Sandusky, the Maverick runs tonight... Just makes the best ride there better (not to mention that the ride was running insanely fast.)
  2. How many news stories can CP be involved with in a week? http://www.sanduskyregister.com/article/5750561
  3. They usually operate both kinds, but the red (shot) side is less busy and therefore, only one red tower is operated while both green (drop) towers are operated. The exception is busy days, I imagine. Neither side usually has a massive line.
  4. quote="PrismTx"] The only one I can tell you that I am aware of is 5-1 on Vortex at KI. Car 5 Row 1, it is the car/seat that the entire ride was designed around. Never knew that. Are all old Arrow loopers designed around this row? Enthusiasts love car 1, row 3 on Magnum. It is nicknamed the "ejector seat." I personally notice little difference from the front row, but it is worth a try. Note that this is NOT a magic seat as much as an intensity seat - it is likely more painful than some other seats due to the combination of intense airtime and a rather primitive lapbar that gives some people bruises.
  5. I thought that that was just an illusion caused by the wheel theming. Wow. It's weird to see TTD running like that.
  6. Sorry for double post, but I feel that it is appropriate for this thread- Comment- I put extra spaces in between "Full" and "Throttle" to avoid the censoring (YOLOcoaster.) Seriously, though. Full Throttle is a beast of a different kind and I figured you all would find the "GP LOVEZ BOOMERANGZ" comment to be funny (even though I'm fairly tolerant to headbanging, myself.)
  7. Why did they "nerf" the ride? Too intense or maintenance issues?
  8. First airtime hill is sluggish in the morning and average when it's warmed up. Second airtime hill is taken much faster, and when it's warmed up can approach mild ejector airtime. Bunny hills are fun, good floater air. I actually got about four rides today, it was pretty warm out, and one time I actually greyed out a bit in the first helix. Overall, it's a good ride. Probably the best ride in the park, but not really anything to write home about. Front row is definitely a wait a wait of a few more cycles. Back rows are fun as well with slightly stronger airtime. Today I noticed a slight rattle in the blue train, so watch out for that. Ah, the helixes on that ride are weird. I've been to Washington, D.C. about 4 or so times. Maybe sometime I'll get to SFA.
  9. By "Worth it", I just meant whether it was good. I would ride it anyways. What is the airtime like? Better or worse than MF's floater hills?
  10. On another note about V2, are its seatbelts short like Wicked Twister or long like Posessed? I get walk of shamed on Wicked Twister and barely fit last year, but last year on Possessed, the belts were very long.
  11. I dislike Raptor just because I used to ride it ten times a morning for platinum pass ERT and the ride really had nothing for me anymore.
  12. Probably because most fans of CP and similar parks are used to non-resort parks. I imagine Disney parks and the like dominated the list.
  13. ^You would have rather lived in a dorm without AC than with? I got my first rides ever on MF and Maverick this week. Both are my top two coasters, with MF being #1. Maverick would be #1 if the OTSR's weren't so horrible. Maybe I'm tolerant to headbanging, but Maverick blows MF out of the water. A coaster enthusiast that likes GK and dislikes Raptor? WHAT KIND OF SORCERY IS THIS?
  14. As for MF, I rode it last night and while fast, it wasn't really ejector as much as it was long, semi-intense floater. Maverick was running insanely fast last night, however.
  15. MS isn't that bad. The third drop (where the camera is) is partly retracked this year (they didn't really do much to the pull-up out of it), making it smoother. The ride is just kinda boring. Bumpy, too, but not as bad as many think it is.
  16. CP Rundown on Coastermania- Mean Streak Challenge? ROFL!
  17. Is Superman any good? Intamin hypers and gigas are some of the most legendary coasters in the world, but is Superman worth anything?
  18. CP has a notoriously draconian weather policy. I imagine GK's trains catch the wind, and I guess Raptor is not quite as aerodynamic as some other coasters. Mantis, I do not know. Sky Ride shuts down for practically any wind at all.
  19. Red and blue sounds good. I can't wait to see Iron Colossus (if it is truly happening.) It will be very interesting to see what RMC will do with a rather mediocre layout. I imagine that the elevated turns will be twisted up and maybe lowered. Think iRat's old helix area atop the cliff.
  20. I love this idea. But of course they'd never do it. Especially if they could make the two sides of Colossus different so they could call them 2 different coasters and hit 20. (It would totally be a great opportunity, though, to do something about the parking lot under Scream.) Different? They could make the rides the same layout and call it 2 coasters. This is SFMM after all. (Old Colossus would never count as 2 coasters because it never runs 2 sides.) YOLO SWAG SFMM!
  21. It has. My friend and I rode both it and Thunder Canyon. Not much is different about STR since the accident. However, they still don't load the middle row of each boat.
