How long until you can tell us, Robb? Or can you not tell us that? -

Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

I personally think it is a fun ride. I love the "jojo roll" and first drop in the back. It isn't very forceful, but isn't 100% forceless either, and is unique either way. -

I think they stopped that after 2012, if I remember correctly. I am annoyed that they keep saying that Gerstlauer made NTAG. They made the trains. I know that RMC would not be as much at fault as Gerstlauer if the ride design was at fault (Yes, I know airtime, but that is perfectly safe as long as the restraints are designed perfectly, which is Gerstlauer's job.) However, is it really that hard to say that Gerstlaur made NTAG's trains? -

I've asked this before, but never have gotten a response - how bad is NTAG on overweight people now that it has seatbelts? Better or worse than Toro? -
Airtime or Forcefulness?
GigaG replied to tarheel1231's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
While Maverick is more twisty than airtime by length, the airtime hills are huge highlights. It's main airtime hill is awesome in the back and even better up front (not much, they're both good seats for the hill) and the first drop in the back is amazingly crazy. -

When CP turns to B&M, they are certainly looking for family thrill and over priced ride. GK looks great but I just don't think it deserves that much money. Keep in mind that they also had to redo the whole front of the park and tear down two rides. -

CCMR and Iron Dragon are CP's mid-level family coasters. Well, they would be, if not for height restrictions. Luckily, CP seems to be conforming to more "normal" restrictions on newer rides (the new mat racer is 42", and GK and Banshee are/will be 52", not 54" (which I think is X-Flight's restriction.)) -

Iron Dragon was probably my first "big" coaster, not counting Woodstock Express (which is not that small, or at least seems bigger than it does.) If it was a 48" height restriction at that time, my first coaster might as well have been Magnum (the first coaster I rode after I became 48" tall.) -

No. You blame Cedar Fair. They have done this in many other of their parks, not just the ones in Ohio. They are based in Ohio, so could they be modelling their parks after Ohio state laws? -

Bad news, apparently, according to a Cedar Point News twitter- "@cedarpointnews: Iron Dragon's height requirement has been changed from 46" to 48" for the 2014 season." -

If Dragon Wagons or Miner Mikes are roller coasters, Pipe Scream should be, too. Not saying that it is or isn't, I'm just being logical. -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
GigaG replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That first idea would be good for a Disney thrill ride. Only maybe downsized to 100-200 feet with an extended layout like Xcelerator, or even more small like Kanonen. -

That is an accurate statement considering some of those causes of death (especially plane crashes) are quite unlikely themselves. -
Worst Coaster Layout
GigaG replied to SingleRiderCam's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Actually, the Boomerang is a quite innovative layout, at least it was. Then it became cliche. Think about it - what other layout combines GP-attracting inversions into such a tiny space. It might not be the "best" layout, but it is a layout that can suck in an unfamiliar GP. -
Combining Two Ride Concepts
GigaG replied to Woodie Warrior's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That would be the scariest scooters in the world ! Don't call it a family-friendly ride anymore ! The restraints on Scooters are way too small for this, but if you use Windseeker-esque restraints combined with a good rudder, it could work out. I love interactive and dynamic rides! As for the Flying Dutchman shuttle, I know that long ago, on the RCT1/2 website nedesigns.com, there was once a trend where a flying car would reverse a la Expedition Everest (through trainers and track merging in game) and go through the circuit feet-first. The idea was called a "luge coaster."
