I took a bunch of 5th graders on it opening week and they were ALL disappointed. It was always a disaster (even worse than the Disaster ride it replaced). If you like the franchise, you're mad that they didn't give it a better ride and if you don't like the franchise you hate it because it's a crap ride. I'm really happy about Velocicoaster because after Fallon and Fast and Furious I can't take more crap!

New coasters for 2020
SharkTums replied to jschmitty's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Oh man, I missed this thread while at Disney last week. Nice to come home to something that reminds me how much I hate our hobby! -
We've gotten on it 2 for 2 our last visits. Once there was about an hour breakdown but they let us wait in the AC and it was pouring outside so that was fine, and the other time was ridiculously fast and efficient with no breakdowns at all. They're currently offering boarding passes at 10am and 2pm. Get in the app about two minutes prior, if you have good cell service use that and turn off your wifi, keep refreshing and grab that pass! Make sure you and your partner are linked in the app as you'll have to select who you want to get the pass for.

^Covered Bridge Festival was cancelled so I think it was just assumed PPP would be as well. -

Glad to hear you had a great time. I agree with you about the hand sanitizer on all rides. It just kind of makes sense! -
Disneyland Paris (DLP) Discussion Thread

Great to hear! I was a bit worried with how DLP would do with 'Social Distancing' because I don't think those two words have ever been used together by the French at theme parks but I'm glad it's working! -
I know many of us are bummed about this, but this was the right decision. Not an easy decision, not a fun decision, but the right one. It would have been a REALLY scaled back, socially distanced horror nights and that's just not the spirit of the event. I'm sure it will be back bigger and better next year.

^I don't think they ever had an alpine slide, but I would also love to see one built there! -
"incoherent cacophany" is my new favorite catch phrase/band name. Well done on a mammoth trip report! The park was just so weird and off...I really wanted to like it more because I loved everything else about Poland. I'll certainly give it another try in a year or two (or when we're allowed to travel again!) ^And Nathan, I watched part of the viking show and you and I are WAY more advanced than any of the aerialists they had!

Thorpe Park Discussion Thread

^I actually read on some other news sites that Thorpe went and reopened rides to try and accommodate guests that were not allowed to leave due to the police activity. And yeah, this is dumb. Although I'm kind of shocked that Thorpe didn't have metal detectors? -

^Honestly, it's really not as bad as people seem to be making it out to be. I get that De Santis is a horrible lying human, but the scary thing is that he's right about *some* of the stuff he's saying about the virus. A ton of people have it, but much less are dying from it now and so many people are completely asymptomatic. Basically it comes down to the fact that we never had the virus here back in March - May when NY and other states were getting hit hard, now we have it and we're going through the same numbers and spikes and spread that they did but now we know how to treat it better so we're having less serious cases and deaths. The parks have not had any traceable cases. The majority of the cases that they're tracing (which is about 1% because we have no real tracing in this country) are from bars, clubs, gyms, social indoor get togethers. Our big problem (along with most states) is that it's taking over one week to get test results back so in that week these asymptomatic people are spreading it around exponentially. Our central Florida hospitals are predicting that we will peak at the end of the month due to so many cases and then start declining. KT is supposed to start school four weeks from today and no one sees that happening in person (sorry Betsy DeVos you stupid idiot!). And let's end the virus talk there and keep this back on track for Sea World! Guy, feel free to message me anytime if you'd like to discuss more! Remember, I'm from Sarasota so I know all about what's going on there and with Jarett's school!
