^There are some videos online that are pretty crazy. It basically seems like the Las Vegas strip is going crazy every weekend now, and not in a good way. -

I'm just happy to see the fondue back! -
This is actually an interesting thought. Let's take a few things out of the equation. Looking strictly at the Roller Coasters ONLY. NOT: Operations, weather, crowds, price, other rides, atmosphere, food, etc. I would say these five in no particular order: Cedar Point, SFMM, Busch Gardens Tampa, Hersheypark, Nagashima Spaland I chose these for a well rounded lineup of stuff that I at least personally like as well as quantity. For less well rounded and less quantity I would probably throw in Holiday Park, Knoebels, and Sea World Orlando.

I totally get the maintenance nightmare aspect of many of these rides, but especially with a ride that is so historic and helps you claim to be a national historic landmark, figure something out! Ask for donations, make it an upcharge, have a display that explains why it's special, etc. There are solutions. This isn't just some crappy old boomerang or something. People actually care! Where are the Geauga Lake fanboys with their pick up trucks to save this!?!? Oh and I'm also jumping on the "Knoebels come grab these" bandwagon! -

Perfect end to the 2020 season! -
See there are some silver linings to the stupid pandemic! I'm liking the staying farther away from people and only being grouped with your friends/family! And yes, I've been told to ride in random people legs on log flumes, bobsleds, water coasters, etc. Dealt with it, but never liked it!

It was very interesting after spending several days at Disney last week to visit Universal yesterday and see how much live entertainment they had! I wonder why Disney cut everyone while Universal seems to be stepping up? And John, I'm sure you'll be back sooner than you think, you're so talented and they need you!

Ugh. A bit worrying about the closing for a month in the winter even if they could be open but I'm guessing that's their quietest time of the year anyways and they're just trying to save some money. -

I'm glad they're at least going for a scaled down version of this event and not abandoning it all together which honestly, no one would blame them during these pandemic times if they did. -
I really feel for the California parks and people. Trust me, I'm the first to admit that our Florida governor is an idiot and slightly terrifying in his loyalty to Trump but even our very democratic county and democratic county/city leaders looked at the science, listened to the health department and found a safe way to open up the parks. The parks are also being very responsible (well, the large ones!) and going above and beyond the governors loose guidelines. It's ridiculous and just completely asinine to keep some of the California parks closed while allowing some to operate under weird loopholes. Getting back on track for this thread, SFMM barely has anything indoor anyways and would be super safe to operate!

Glad you could make it to a park and have some fun! I forgot about the crazy wind storm SLC had a few weeks ago, glad they could bounce back so quickly.
